However when we got home the food looked like dog food. My husband began to eat it and the chicken was super tough and absolutely disgusting. My entree was ok, but immediately my husband was instantly disappointed especially for the price. We called the store to inform them of our dissatisfaction and they started requesting we bring your entrees back to the store to "prove" it was poorly made. Absolutely insane. Poor customer service and poor food quality. My recommendation, try somewhere else. read more

The chow mein here is exceptional--I've ordered it before as a meal just because it's so tasty that I find myself craving it. Their yellow curry is also really yummy, mild but with flavorful aromatics and generous chunks of chicken that are tender enough to cut with a spoon. They may want to look into the recent food poisoning cases in Taiwan that resulted in multiple deaths before giving out old rice next time! I go there often for lunch and i have walked out a few times due to very bad service. Sitting 10 min or so and no attention but the girls are there talking away with each other. Today there was two sitting there and did just that. Normally my food is fast and very good. Today slow and cold like it sat up there for 10 minutes and im sure it did. Can you tell me if you even got the order? A lack of communication and a lack of effort led to another 10 minutes of standing around. The place was not busy. So after 50 minutes I finally get them to look into it and the guy says... We start your order now. So another 10 minutes and I walk out w my dinner. That is an hour for what actually takes 10 minutes. Being treated like that, you would think I'd be done w the place. But last night was Thanksgiving and it was the only place open in town, so I call my order in this time, no delay, it was ready when I walked in. But every employee stopped their chopping, cooking, whatever they were doing and smiled at me, all eyes were on me, and they smiled and spoke amongst themselves. I paid including tip and as I walked out the door I looked again and yeah, every single employee had big smiles as I left. I did not give it 5 stars because it is not the greatest atmosphere to eat there. San Clemente has always been lacking in authentic ethnic food, so I am glad to see that China Bros has opened up here. Before them, you had to go all the way downtown to New Mandarin Garden which isn't even that Chinese. And yes, China Bros isn't super authentic either, but they have good menu variety with all the staples and everything tastes fresh. Most importantly, the American Chinese food places around here generally lean sweet, like Pick Up Stix so I am glad there's now a place to go that doesn't do that. read more

So my friend and I wandered a few stores down to the open doors of China Bros. Inside were several Chinese people--even the cooks. So we knew this had to be a solid, authentic Chinese food establishment. We were not let down. The king pao chicken was reminiscent of what I'd eaten every single day for four months straight when I lived in Nanjing, circa 2002. The chicken and broccoli was also sublime.
