    Beef with Broccoli

I was staying with my son, and he asked me what I felt like for dinner. I was craving Chinese, so we picked up dinner from The Little Kitchen Asian Café. We ordered Cream Cheese Wontons, Chicken Chow Mein, Beef with Broccoli, and Orange Zest Chicken. The Wontons were crispy and delicious, even after the short drive to his place. I tried it with the spicy mustard. Whew! It was super hot. All of the dishes were really good, especially the Orange Zest Chicken. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in the area.

I love this place!! Tonight I thought I'd try the Egg Foo Young - and while it was tasty, I prefer the items fried into and with the egg, which was not the case here. The egg part seemed to have been pre- cooked and then covered with ingredients and somewhat soaked in a juicy brown sauce. Not complaining - but I probably won't try this dish in the future.

Kitchen has dropped off. Made a to go order. Kitchen beef is beef and broccoli NOT what is described on the menu. Fried dumplings are put into a sealed container so when they get home they're soggy. Lo mein is dry and tasteless. It was so bad i was willing to drive back but the best part, "sorry i can do nothing about it" We used to totally love this place but this last order was on the verge of uneatable. So very disappointed.

    Coconut vegetable curry

Coconut vegetable curry was not good Mongolian beef was excellent Walnut shrimp was too little but good Kung pao tofu was excellent Chicken chow fun was okay Apparently the server was rude to my parents until we came in, so didn't like that. I mean she treated me like i was a vip guest...very strange. .ambiance was usual....good.

It was a decent place for Chinese/asian food. Plenty of tables available on a Saturday evening. Service was friendly and the food came out very fast. We ordered the tofu in brown sauce, egg rolls, chow fun and peppered steak. We thought that the tofu in brown sauce as well as the peppered steak were the best from among the dishes. The peppered steak was pretty tender but not sure if it was worth $30. The ratio of steak pieces to the veggies was off, too little steak compared to all the onions that were on the plate. The only item I wouldn't recommend is the egg rolls. It was just ok, took a few bites and didn't touch it again. I would say it is a good option if you're in the area and craving Asian food. Everyone seemed friendly and the ambience overall was good.

If you're looking for Chinese food in Dana Point, The Little Kitchen Asia Cafe is probably the best option in the area. Prices are high, but dining out is expensive in DP. During the weekdays, they have lunch specials from $14.99-$16.99, including rice and either hot and sour soup or salad. Unfortunately we were there on holiday, so the lunch specials were not available. We ordered moo shu chicken ($16.99), beef with broccoli ($18.99), tofu in brown sauce ($17.99) and honey walnut shrimp ($22.99). Everything was fine, passable for Chinese food in this area of OC. Portions are on the small side, given the price. Lots of parking in the lot.

Average food. Some of it doesn't even seem homemade. I'm specifically referring to the Egg Foo Young. It comes with several identical thin discs of egg. Then whatever meat you choose is placed on top. Other places bake in the meat into the eggs. It comes with a nice bold gravy but then it gets very tiny from the watery vegetables. However it does come with quite a variety of vegetables. The egg rolls are also your standard variety. Rather small and also mushy inside. The orange chicken is fine but there were some tough pieces in it. The server seems exhausted and transactional.

    Kitchen's Chicken

Summary: flavorful Kitchen's chicken, disappointing Mongolian beef, mediocre green beans, and plenty of parking We stopped by The Little Kitchen Asian Cafe for lunch since my kids were hangry and we couldn't make it to another restaurant farther away. On a Saturday afternoon, the restaurant was empty. We ordered hot and sour soup, Kitchen's chicken, Mongolian beef, and stir-fried green beans. The hot and sour soup had a little chicken, but lacked spiciness and had only a light sourness. However, they provided pepper on the table to add to taste. Kitchen's chicken was similar to soy sauce sticky chicken and came with broccoli -- absolutely flavorful and a favorite among my kids. The Mongolian beef was disappointing: over-seasoned, not properly velveted, hence, some pieces were tougher than others. The stir-fried green beans were mediocre. While the beans were crunchy, the sauce was strange. It seemed like green beans and garlic was stir-fried, then cornstarch and water were used to thicken the oil, leaving white lumps on the beans. Typical Asian service -- not an issue for us. Parking was plentiful during lunchtime.

Pan Fried Noodles - Too little noodles, too much sauce

Been here a few times. Solid American Chinese Restaurant in the Dana Point area. Everything I've tried was tasty and they use breast chicken. Good Shrimp with Walnut Sauce Chicken with Sizzling Rice Just ok Pan fried noodles - too little noodles and too much sauce Service is slow and could be friendlier. Seating not so comfortable. Still better than most in area.

There's ample parking, and reservations aren't required. The ambiance is simple and clean. We were promptly seated in a booth by a friendly waiter who explained the menu before leaving. We ordered the chicken soup and kitchen beef, and both exceeded our expectations in terms of flavor and quantity. Throughout our meal, the restaurant was bustling with customers, and the phone rang constantly. The sheer number of takeout orders indicated that the food was truly popular. I highly recommend this location.

Orange chicken - allegedly white meat.

My friend and I ordered vanilla matcha drinks, but they didn't taste very good. The matcha had a strong, grassy taste, so we decided to order different drinks instead. The second drinks were okay, but nothing special. Unfortunately, the customer service was the biggest disappointment. My friend came back and asked for five paper plates. Since she is deaf, she was trying to communicate with the male employee by texting on her phone. Instead of being patient and understanding, he gave her an attitude and seemed upset with her. At one point, he yelled, "Just one paper plate!" We were very disappointed by the way she was treated, especially when she was simply trying to communicate. We hope the café can do better when it comes to treating all customers with kindness, patience, and respect. Because of this experience, we unfortunately won't be coming back.

Not in a corporate "we ordered our personality from a catalog" way. In a real, slightly chaotic, neighbor-knows-your-name way. Small parking lot? Yes. But that just means you've found something worth gatekeeping. Also there are outdoor seating by the street AND the parking lot, in case you want to hide yourself from the rest of the world. (I'm team parking lot, hiding.) The staff? So nice. So friendly. Like genuinely warm humans. They even offered my dog treats without me awkwardly hovering and hinting. Immediate loyalty secured. And the WiFi? Slapped. Hord. Like, I could actually open PDFs, upload things, and pretend I was writing something groundbreaking instead of rearranging paragraphs for 40 minutes. Patio productivity with dog present = elite setup. Coffee was solid, vibes were solid, humans were solid. This is the kind of place you accidentally turn into your personality. Would return. One thing I really appreciated was that they opened at 5:30 a.m., since many coffee shops in the area don't open until 8-10 a.m. or sometimes even later. The location is right off PCH, making it a convenient stop, although the parking lot is very small and I could see it getting crowded if there were a long drive-through line. We initially parked and walked up to the door thinking we could order inside, but found out that orders are only taken through the drive-through that early. The ordering process was quick, and the barista was friendly and efficient. The drinks were decent overall, with a good coffee flavor, but nothing that really stood out. One thing that surprised me was the cost of the add-ons. My sister changed her milk to oat milk and added a pump of hazelnut, and both were an extra $1 each. The hazelnut flavor tasted good, but the additional charges felt a little steep. Overall, it was a convenient stop with solid coffee, especially if you need something early in the morning, but the pricing for customizations would make me think twice before ordering drinks again.
