Stumbled upon this little Asian restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. They had pretty much everything you'd expect on the menu -- orange chicken, Mongolian beef, egg drop soup, hot and sour soup, and more. The orange chicken was delicious. The batter wasn't overly thick, the texture was great, and the sauce was honestly better than Panda Express. The Mongolian beef was juicy, flavorful, and well seasoned. I also liked the vegetables that came with it. The soups were really well made and exactly what we were craving. They gave us the option of brown or white rice, and both were cooked well. Our waitress was amazing; she's super kind, attentive, and helpful throughout the meal. The inside was a little dark, but the windows were open so there was still natural light coming in. I had high hopes for this place but I don't think that I ordered correctly. We got a couple Teriyaki Bowls (because I was craving one), the Veggie Bowl and some Steamed Dumplings. None of it was very good. The broccoli on the bowl was fresh and crisp but the chicken was bland and flat. The dumplings were also just average. I think they must do better with their Chinese selections, based on the reviews, as these did not work well. The service was so nice. I would be willing to try something else. read more

I was staying with my son, and he asked me what I felt like for dinner. I was craving Chinese, so we picked up dinner from The Little Kitchen Asian Café. We ordered Cream Cheese Wontons, Chicken Chow Mein, Beef with Broccoli, and Orange Zest Chicken. The Wontons were crispy and delicious, even after the short drive to his place. I love this place!! Tonight I thought I'd try the Egg Foo Young - and while it was tasty, I prefer the items fried into and with the egg, which was not the case here. The egg part seemed to have been pre- cooked and then covered with ingredients and somewhat soaked in a juicy brown sauce. I usually visit on Sundays as a caregiver for my client, who uses an accessible chair. During my recent visit, I had a concerning experience with an employee who was tall and had a short bob haircut. I felt that she treated my client dismissively and was rude while assisting her. In addition, I overheard her making dismissive comments to her coworkers in another language that I believed were directed at me. Throughout my visit, I also felt uncomfortable because she repeatedly stared at me in a way that made me feel unwelcome. The experience left me so upset that I couldn't even enjoy my meal and left feeling distressed. As a Hispanic/Latina caregiver who traveled from Los Angeles with my client, I left feeling that I was treated differently and experienced behavior that I perceived as discriminatory. Regardless of anyone's background, every customer deserves to be treated with courtesy, professionalism, and respect. I am especially concerned about how my client, who relies on an accessible chair, was treated. Individuals with disabilities should always be treated with dignity and compassion. I respectfully request that this incident be reviewed. I hope appropriate steps are taken to ensure that all guests, caregivers, and individuals with disabilities are treated respectfully and professionally in the future. read more

It was a decent place for Chinese/asian food. Plenty of tables available on a Saturday evening. Service was friendly and the food came out very fast. We ordered the tofu in brown sauce, egg rolls, chow fun and peppered steak. We thought that the tofu in brown sauce as well as the peppered steak were the best from among the dishes. The peppered steak was pretty tender but not sure if it was worth $30. The ratio of steak pieces to the veggies was off, too little steak compared to all the onions that were on the plate. The only item I wouldn't recommend is the egg rolls. It was just ok, took a few bites and didn't touch it again. I would say it is a good option if you're in the area and craving Asian food. If you're looking for Chinese food in Dana Point, The Little Kitchen Asia Cafe is probably the best option in the area. Prices are high, but dining out is expensive in DP. During the weekdays, they have lunch specials from $14.99-$16.99, including rice and either hot and sour soup or salad. Unfortunately we were there on holiday, so the lunch specials were not available. We ordered moo shu chicken ($16.99), beef with broccoli ($18.99), tofu in brown sauce ($17.99) and honey walnut shrimp ($22.99). Everything was fine, passable for Chinese food in this area of OC. My mom and I used to go here for a while and finally returned 3/24/26z it is better than it's ever been. This is such a nice quaint place. The whole staff and owners are the nicest and most accommodating. The cooks do a phenomenal job at making your food delicious and that fulfill your dietary restrictions and needs. The vegetable soup is one of the best I've had and it's light full of bright nutritious vegetables. The chicken lettuce cups can be made with very low sodium which is what must for health reasons and they a very delicious, healthy and satisfying. The whole experience of going here is very enjoyable and it's very good to know that you can get healthy food that lights up your tastebuds. read more

Average food. Some of it doesn't even seem homemade. I'm specifically referring to the Egg Foo Young. It comes with several identical thin discs of egg. Then whatever meat you choose is placed on top. Other places bake in the meat into the eggs. It comes with a nice bold gravy but then it gets very tiny from the watery vegetables. However it does come with quite a variety of vegetables. The egg rolls are also your standard variety. Rather small and also mushy inside. The orange chicken is fine but there were some tough pieces in it. The server seems exhausted and transactional. read more

On a Saturday afternoon, the restaurant was empty. We ordered hot and sour soup, Kitchen's chicken, Mongolian beef, and stir-fried green beans. The hot and sour soup had a little chicken, but lacked spiciness and had only a light sourness. However, they provided pepper on the table to add to taste. Kitchen's chicken was similar to soy sauce sticky chicken and came with broccoli -- absolutely flavorful and a favorite among my kids. The Mongolian beef was disappointing: over-seasoned, not properly velveted, hence, some pieces were tougher than others. The stir-fried green beans were mediocre. While the beans were crunchy, the sauce was strange. It seemed like green beans and garlic was stir-fried, then cornstarch and water were used to thicken the oil, leaving white lumps on the beans. I love coming to this place, it's in a very convenient located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. I always come here on a rainy day for comfort food. Being from San Diego, I try to get up here once a month. Try the kitchens beef or kitchens chicken. Slightly sweet but perfect and not overpowering. Also hot and sour soup is really tasty and has fresh ingredients. I also really enjoy the lo mein noodles with shrimp. The lemon and orange style chicken is amazing as well. Hot and sour soup is outta this world! Called in for pick up and the soup was hot still when I got home, not warm or cold.

This cafe was recommended so stopped in earlier last week with a friend and enjoyed a nice lunch. The dishes were all very good and freshly cooked. Our server was very friendly, she was working the entire restaurant, seating, taking orders, serving and clearing the tables so she was kept busy but apologized for any little delay and handled everything with a smile. We don't typically get Chinese but my son had his wisdom teeth out and I needed something he could have safely. Egg drop soup was definitely in order. I found Little Asian Kitchen in Dana Point. It is clean and in a very nice location in the Ralph's shopping center. Easy parking and they are open late, too, so that is a bonus. Ordering was quick and the staff efficient. The soup was perfect! I also ordered spring rolls which were a little heavy on basic lettuce. They were advertised as Vietnamese spring rolls but those have mint and basil which these did not.
