Horrible horrible horrible. Absolutely dangerous to eat here. Food is NOT KEPT AT SAFE TEMPS. I watched them pour food from a 5 gallon bucket into a pan to be reheated! It was leftovers from the day before. The crab legs were not crab at all but rather crawfish that was labeled as crab. When I asked where the crab was the lady pointed to the crawfish. I told her that is not crab but she insisted "yes yes crab, very good you try!" Their sushi is prepared in the warm air, fish brought out and left out way too long. They serve on styrofoam plates and use styrofoam soup bowls to serve tea and drinks in. Everyone in our party ended up in the hospital with food poisoning, and when we complained to the food inspector, nothing was done. We are in the process of filing a lawsuit for all of this. If you don't want to believe my review, that's okay, but I would strongly encourage you to do a walk through before trusting the food served out of this disgusting restaurant!! read more

A buffet with lots of variety, including Salmon,Sushi on top of other regular Chinese buffet dishes (orange chicken, broccoli beef etc). Food is delicious and fresh, with decent service. The service was horrific, our check was dropped off 10min after we arrived because they wanted to close early, i understand it being slow but we arrived at 8 and they are open until 9:30. all the food was thrown away by 8:30. the heat lamps were not doing their job, nothing was hot. i just don't think it's safe for food that is obviously old to be out in the cold. terrible all around read more

I had a really hard time trying to rate China Buffet. It has been in Missoula for as long as I've lived here (13 years). In that 13 years, I have eaten here at least 20 times, maybe more. I don't know why it's taken until now for me to review them, but at this point I feel I can give them a fair review. While their food is so-so and nothing to write home about, the friendliness of their staff is where they really fall short. From the moment you walk in, rather than being greeted with a smile or a friendly "Hello," you are immediately asked in a pushy way "How many?" I'm not referring to one isolated incident. This has happened almost every single time I have dined there. There is absolutely no small talk whatsoever between the employees and their customers. Once you are seated, you then can go pick out your food, buffet style. I have found the best time to go here is when they open until around 2-3 PM. After that, the food is nowhere near as fresh as it was, and I'm pretty sure many of the food items have been sitting out longer than they are supposed to, per food service guidelines. I have to give then kudos when it comes to the variety of items they have. There have all your traditional Chinese food, California rolls, soup, ice cream and dessert, and also some American food items such as pizza and macaroni and cheese. The quality of the food is not that good, but for the price, you can be assured you will leave feeling full without breaking the bank. They keep the restaurant about 1,000 degrees at all times. My husband says it's probably a strategy to get customers in and out of there fast, and he may be right. The entire restaurant feels like an oven! When it comes to cleanliness, they certainly are slacking on that. One quick walkthrough of the restaurant and you will see what I mean. Pros: Inexpensive, large variety of food. PLEASE READ!!!! The one thing that will prevent us from ever returning is the use of Styrofoam dishes. You have to get a new one every time you go back. Our family alone threw away 10 Styrofoam plates and 7 bowls. Styrofoam NEVER breaks down it just gets smaller. How hard would it be to use paper plates?! I don't want to eat my food off of Styrofoam and I don't want to be a party to that much toxic waste. read more

They fixed their issue above the Buffay but if you look at their walls next to the tables that you're sitting at they are disgusting! The worst! The food was all very old and had been sitting for a long period of time. Cold and dried out really really bad . Gravy with film on it from sitting so long. The tags that tell what food it is do not match the items we went at 5:30 tonight so food should have been dinner time fresh we were there 10 minutes and took less then 5 bites each and we paid $61 and had to go get dinner someplace else! This place used to be great. I'm not sure what happened unless it's a post COVID thing, but everything is single use now. Cups, plates, silverware, you name it. We have been eating at Asian buffets all around the country as we usually enjoy many of the dishes. This one wasn't good! Started out with the waiter flinging straws at our table as he walked away. No glass plates, chopsticks or silverware...it's styrofoam plates and plastic ware. I had to go ask for chopsticks. The food was all cold. It really felt like a place where they were trying to save a buck. A lot of the dishes might have been tasty or at least edible if they weren't cold or fresher. The fried shrimp were literally too hard to crunch through. Virtually no veggies. The only thing we found hot was mac and cheese which we would never have tried but we were hungry. (We happened to get some as it came out of the kitchen). We didn't see any food dishes being refilled. No many dishes either. Odd place. read more

I took both my daughters there last night. My youngest ended up in the ER with food poisoning. She is still violently puking and is severely dehydrated. I am just heading back to the ER to get her an iv to replenish her fluids about 15 hours after her meal. I now am hearing about 4 other similar cases from mutual friends. The problem is not the food, it is their EXCESSIVE US OF STYROFOAM!....There is no CDC code requiring the use of styrofoam......When I tried to reuse my plate, the waitress insisted I grab another plate. It has been a few year since we were here last because it's a two hour drive from our place to Missoula. But it is worth every mile of it. They have just about anything you would at a China Buffet and they keep everything topped off. I'm not positive about this but I think it is only like $6.99 per person. Finally found a pretty darn good Chinese restaurant. We've been there 3 times now and have found the items that we stay away from and those that we really enjoy.
