As someone who drives around town I always see this place empty and now I can see why, I sat down with my fiancé and my uncle had dinner and the chicken was soggy and raw, we payed over 90 dollars for three meals and when I asked for an itemized receipt they said they didn't have any. How do I know what I'm paying for when they don't even give receipts and I watch the lady put in random numbers for things I didn't even buy. China city never disappointed me, I love every plate it made. It is authentic Chinese food, the flavor you can fell different from other Chinese restaurant in the town. Pretty good place and very friendly service. I was not expecting to find a chinese restaurant in such a remote place. I was pleasantly surprised. I got a "shrimp lo mein" and the only reason why I'm giving this place 4 stars was due to the lack of strong flavor. The meal was kind of bland, even though it was fresh and juicy. read more

I've had my fair share of Chinese/Chinese-American food and China City wasn't near the top of the list at all, my chow mein was all mushy and sauce was everywhere. It didn't taste bad but didn't look appealing at all. We weren't expecting much from the only Chinese place in town, but we were pleasantly surprised by the service, food selection and it has to be said that the sweet and sour chicken is amazing. One thing to note is that we enjoy some 'bite' to our Chinese, and we found the spice somewhat lacking. We certainly added the condiments, but after asking specifically for some dishes to be spicy, we were disappointed with what made it to the table. Perhaps they cater to a different palate. Being in the military I've been to a fair share of locations. Still can't beat China City back home. The service is good and the food is on point. The staff always treat me like family even though I only return once every year or so. By far one of the best places to get take out in American Falls. If your craving Chinese, this place is your stop. Their sweet and sour sauce is unique (red not orange) compared to other places but it is definitely my favorite. I would be pretty upset if they ever closed. 5 stars! read more
