In the case of Hong Kong Garden (All Day Buffet), silence did indeed demand to be noticed, as we entered into desolentness. While listening to the voice of silence registering the atmosphere we noticed the spacious, typically colored and lit Chinese food buffet. After a minute, we were brought back from our lonely inner journey by a highly energetic man wearing a warm smile, who waved his arm over the floor expanse: "Hi guys! Sit anywhere you like." That made us feel welcome and appreciated. I started at the salad bar part of the buffet, which looked fresh and lively with a myriad of colors and flavors. Crisp greens, mixed seafood, and a selection of crunchy toppings to be dressed by the classics like Ranch, Blue Cheese, French, and Thousand Island. Looking at the food on the buffet brings a mix of interest and slight disappointment, for the selection is limited. While it is small, very fresh and tasty delicacies were steaming from the buffet table. Nice, not too sweet or too spicy, but flavorful sauces--like sweet and sour and oyster sauce--dazzled up their chicken, beef, and noodle dishes. I did not like a couple of dishes; the crunchy chicken for example was hard to chew and tasted more like fried fat than chicken, but most of what is there is well worth the money. Our young lady server was friendly, attentive, and seemed genuinely happy to take our plates and refill drinks. 6 stars for the people. Overall it is not a bad little buffet, and I wish other Chinese buffet services could even touch how nice these people are. But I've been to better buffets, so four stars. Don't let that stop you from trying it--it's a good experience.

Sweet and sour chicken is some of my favorite food item and it was so crispy and hot and fresh. The waitress we had was super kinda and patient while we were deciding what to get. The restaurant was very modern and clean. They take great care of this place.

Knowing we would get home way too late to start cooking, I googled for Chinese restaurants, and this one came up on my phone with good reviews (note, on my computer the reviews were only 3.0, but on the phone, they were over 4). The menu was very small, and a little on the expensive side, but we already walked in, and wanted to get going home, so we decided to order rather than try and find another place to pick up food. BIGGEST MISTAKE! We both love spicy food, so I ordered the Spicy Hot Diced Chicken (Diced chicken, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, green peppers, celery and green pear). and my boyfriend ordered the Spicy Hot Pepper Beef (Choice sliced beef with green peppers, onions, mushrooms, bamboo shoots in spicy hot sauce). We each ordered the small fried rice, mine with no pork. Where do I start? Neither one of the descriptions say carrots, but both had them (mine diced, his julienned). Mine was supposed to have bamboo shoots and green pears, instead it had peas and almond slices. The pieces of chicken were not diced, but the veggies were (not a complaint, but definitely not as described on the menu!) They were both supposed to be spicy, but the only flavor, let alone spice, was the crushed red pepper. Now lets talk about the fried rice. To start, we ordered small fried rice, as that was described to us as what would normally come with a meal, rather than a larger fried rice, which usually is it's own meal. Small is an understatement. I wish we had measured it before putting it on the plate, because if it was a third of a cup, I would be surprised. There was absolutely NOTHING fried about this rice. It was white rice, with scallions and a little scrambled egg (and pork in my boyfriends as ordered). No soy sauce, no veggies, no flavor, whatsoever. Because the portion was so small (it did not come with any other white rice), we will need to make more to finish the amount of food that came with the dinner portion of the meal. Fortunately someone knew that there was no flavor in their food because they put enough Soy Sauce in the bag to drown out the taste of just about anything. I also ordered a side of Spring Rolls, which is 6 of the smallest fried dough with barely any veggies in it. I chose to snack on one in the car, and it was horrible. I thought maybe I would try a second dipped in the duck sauce- MISTAKE! My bad because the car moved, and I spilled some on my hand, but it was HOT, and I totally burned the palm of my hand. Who serves HOT DUCK SAUCE? YUCK! I truly feel bad (or envy?) all of the people that wrote reviews indicating this is amazing Chinese food, because they clearly have never tasted good Chinese food. The best part of the meal? The pre-packaged fortune cookie. Literally the only thing that tasted like Chinese food should.
