Sophia and I headed here for lunch last weekend. I came across this place years ago on Yelp but never had the time to try them out. They did close for a bit during the pandemic due to a staff shortage, but opened back up and haven't lost a beat. Local Yelpers have posted positive reviews on the food and service. Let's see how the visit went. We were immediately seated when we walked inside. They actually had a nice crowd inside which definitely had them busy. Since it's a dim sum restaurant, they came around several times offering small dishes. We declined until the very end and decided to order from their regular menu. My order was a cup of Egg Drop soup for appetizers and salted and spicy scallop, shrimp and squid. Everything was truly delicious. The soup was very hearty and full of flavor as expected. The seafood was fried perfectly and full of spices. The portion could've been a little more but nonetheless it was really good. To end our meal, we chose their shrimp balls off the dim sum plate. It was really good and flavorful. For our first time here, we were both impressed. Wonderful staff and food to back up the hype. The next time we stop by, it'll purely be items via dim sum :)

I had my doubts but I think I like the dumplings here better than the other place in town. The quality and freshness of the dumplings are apparent here, especially in the shrimp, pork/shrimp dumplings and the steamed sticky rice.

BEST dim sum I have had outside of Chinatown. They do push cart dim sum on the weekends. Traditional dim sum dishes done exceptionally well. Their har gow and shumai are springy and packed with shrimp. The congee is flavorful and rich. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys dim sum or anyone looking to try for the first time. I will be returning! (If it were in the budget, I would go every weekend.)

went to the dimsum cart for the first time! and it did not disapoint! they do their dimsum cart on the weekends from 12-3. we got there at 1230 and already had a 20/30 minute wait but it was highly worth it!! i love dimsum and i think this is by far the best dimsum places in virginia beach, it is a little unfortunate that they dont have soup dumps or rice rolls but other than that I will 100% go again and be a regular dimsum cart person! There are some people who speak little english when passing out the cart so its just a little fun bc you never know what you get! Hahah Good vibes & good foood :))

I used to love this place back about 5-8 years ago before the renovation and revamp. Not sure if it was a management change but it definitely isn't the same. Service was terrible today, waited 30 minutes for Peking Duck (which should already be cooked, most chinese places have them ready and just need slicing). I ended up coming up to the cashier to just void the item since we were waiting for so long. One of the guys up front was mad at me about it but I've waited enough. The dimsum was okay, some of the items were even cold. This will definitely be the last time I'll be going here. I recommend trying out other Chinese places such as Guangdong Taste.

Finally made it over to Jade Villa to experience a meal! We came for lunch and it was not busy at all - just a few other tables during our dining experience. Even so, the server seemed to be a bit overwhelmed and was struggling to keep up. We started with a few selections from the dim sum menu, which is really what excites me most about Jade Villa. The dumplings were all delicious, but the pork bun was very dry with close to no filling on the inside. As a heads up, not all of their dim sum is available all of the time. For the whole dim sum menu, you have to go on weekends early. We ordered Shrimp Egg Foo Young and Mongolian Beef as our entrees. The Mongolian Beef was delicious. Loved the veggies. The Egg Foo Young was also really good, but the gravy was unfortunately very watery and bland, so overall the dish was not our favorite.

Food was not as good as it used to be! Came here for Dinner the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. My Wife and I ordered our Meals and it seemed to take forever! Wasn't really busy at all! People who came in after us were getting their Food before we did! The Roast Pork Egg Foo Young was Bland, and the Gravy that came with it tasted like it was from a Jar of Heinz Pork Gravy because it was Gloopy and Tasteless! My Wife's Dish didn't taste that much better either! Her Beef and Vegetables Dish had no Flavor as well! Her Sauce tasted like it was from a Jar as well! The Salt and Pepper Shakers were Dirty, and looked like they had not been cleaned in a very long time! Being that we grew up in New York City and gone to several Restaurants in Chinatown, we know how the Food should taste like! This didn't taste Good at All! Would not Recommend this place to anyone looking for Chinese Food!

I love that the carts are back! They updated the dining room to look less dingy but they didn't increase the space to seat the mass crowds that convene at 12. Get in line early (11:30) to be seated in the first wave, otherwise, you'll be on a call back waitlist 45 mins later. Another option is to arrive after 1:30 on the weekend and there is less of a wait. Prices are reasonable but come to eat and share! You do have the opportunity to order mains off their menu if you would like. All the food tasted fresh and not overworked or overcooked. Service is quick - seems like there is a new batch of new servers and they seem more attentive than in the past - they do need a little more education on the dimsum served or offered, but we had a really pleasant experience.

    Is dim sum everyday?

It's available daily. But the dim sum experience with the pushcarts during lunch happens on the weekends only. Any other time, you can order it off the menu.

Do they offer dim sum at night or only during lunch time?

I believe they only do it Sunday mornings. Definitely not 24 hours

    Do you deliver?

To my knowledge it's Carry out and I did see door dash.

When do you serve the pineapple buns?Sunday morning?

    Saturday and Sunday afternoon

I've only been to the Chesapeake location, and I love their food, so this was my first time trying the food at the VB location. I was quickly greeted as soon as I walked in and was seated right away. I loved the clean and modern decor of the restaurant. My server was super friendly and brought over the menu. I knew I wanted the Wonton in Hot Chili Oil but I also wanted to try the Dan-Dan Noodles here, because I wasn't a fan of them at the other location, so I ordered both of those along with Salt & Peppered Prawns. The food was served fairly quickly. I started with the Wontons but there was something in the chili oil that made my mouth extremely tingly and numb. I normally get a slight tingly feeling when I eat them but this was intense. I couldn't even finish it. The Dan-Dan Noodles were incredible though! They had the perfect amount of flavor and spice. The Salt & Peppered Prawns were good, but I probably won't order them again. The flavors were great but the seasoning is only on the shells. I found myself rubbing the de-shelled shrimp on the seasoned shells to give them some flavor. I did attempt to eat them with the shells on but I wasn't a fan. You really can't go wrong at Judy's! The staff were incredible and the food is good!!! I still prefer the Chesapeake location but I'm glad I was able to stop in and try the food out at this location as well.

We wanted to get the egg rolls as I was craving it, but they said they do not have it despite being on the menu. That was a little disappointing. We got the sesame chicken which mostly tasted like orange chicken with a little more soy sauce and a little less orange. It was tasty, but again the price for what it was did not match. The honey roasted duck was tasty with a savory thick sauce to dip. We got white rice with our dishes. My husband asked for chopsticks, and there were none which was surprising. The fortune cookie at the end was stale, and my fortune was kind of a hilarious demand to be vegetarian/vegan. The service was decent. The ambiance lighting was very red in color, making it feel dark on the inside. It is awkwardly quiet with loud clinking. One of the light fixtures was broken. Overall, food was just okay, and the pricing did not feel appropriate for what was served.

Well, I had an incredible lunch experience at Wang Jiang Lou that made my day! It all began with the warm welcome, followed by incredible service table side and even as I left the team made me feel good (More later!). Whoever designed this restaurant knows something about creating an escape from the world experience. The paneling, table settings, lighting, and every inch of the dining area allowed me to take a deep breath escaping from a hectic hot and humid Virginia Beach weekday hustle! The $16 lunch is a bargain! Offering several impressive entrees plus soup. I am extremely particular about Hot and Sour soup and this bowl was delicious with a subtly of flavors and a pleasant silky texture. I consumed every last drop and returned a clean bowl! I chose Yu Xiang Pork as my entree, which my waitress said was one of the top two favorites along with the pork belly. She said she would give the Yu Xiang Pork the edge. She was right because I loved this dish! I like heat and this offered heat. I like varied texture and this had a range of textures. I want flavor that makes you eat everything served and this delicious lunch offering succeeded. For the price I was so impressed with the variety of mushrooms!! The cherry on top for this visit (No, I didn't get an ice cream sundae.) was the warm thank you's PLURAL that I received from the people up front as I left. Their smiles were beaming at me and they genuinely made me feel like they were happy I came in for a $16 lunch. I said with a wink that I was going to the kitchen to see if they would provide the same smiles of thanks and was told that they would (No, I didn't go to find out.). Clearly a great team serving delicious food in an awesome setting made me wish I lived in Virginia Beach but then I stepped outside into the heat, humidity and hectic world that this FIVE STAR restaurant named Wang Jiang Lou made me forget about for an hour.
