We tried China Coast before 2020, and it was very good. Small location, take-out only, and delivery. At some point, we'd heard a rumor they had closed. Finally confirmed they were indeed open for business, so we ordered. Ordered General's Chicken and S&S Shrimp. Got an extra egg roll as well. While the bill was $23, the portions were large, and more than we could finish. Everything was hot fresh and very good. The food arrived hot and looked good, the pork however was a red/pinkish color and very chewy, not great. Also the dish contained imitation (i think) crab meat which wasnt part of this dish.A substitute I guess instead of the chicken which was lacking. So was the silverwear, had I not been at the office Id have been up a creek, a huge no-no for delivery driver that should make sure its in the bag, PLUS NO DRINKS AVAILABLE.... CMON NO DRINKS??? My husband and I have made this our go-to Chinese restaurant and go quite often. Unfortunately, they only have two tables but most of their business is carry out or delivery. They have such a large, loyal customer base that they are always busy, yet our food is always fixed quickly and no matter what we've ordered, has been delicious. Their Crab Rangoon is crispy and full of the perfect consistency of cream cheese and crab meat and the Szechuan Chicken has just the right amount of heat for my husband, who likes things a bit more spicy. The Kung Pao Shrimp has very large shrinp, which, they are very generous with. My Chicken with Cashews and Sweet and Sour Chicken are very fresh and loaded with very generous portions of vegetables, chicken and cashews. For a small, fast-food restaurant, this tops the list! read more

I am not a complainer, but when my son finds a piece of metal in his plain lo mein I feel like something should be said. When I called to the owner to let him know what was found in the food that was delivered he scuffed at me and hung up the phone. I called him back to let him know that I was not calling for reimbursement I was just letting him know what happened. He seemed aggravated with me like I done something wrong. The only thing that is saving China Coast from receiving one star is a single small container of well seasoned egg drop soup. Had that egg drop soup not been perfectly balanced with fresh green onions, just the right amount amount of egginess, and crunchy noodles, the entire meal would have been a wash. Now, onto the problems. My friend ordered hot and sour soup. It was neither sweet nor sour. Instead it was a cup of mushrooms and soy sauce. She also ordered crab ragoon. It was notably short on crab and might have been more accurately called "cream cheese ragoon". We tried to share a chicken wings appetizer however I found a small hair cooked into the breading on my chicken wing. The appetizer was no longer appetizing after that and the remainder got thrown out.. I also had the tangerine chicken entree. It was listed on the menu as a chef's special. It did have a spicy undercurrent which was tasty but I could not distinguish it at all from a standard orange chicken. The dish was also under-sauced and therefor dry. I only ate a few bites before tossing it. So, two stars, but only because of the egg drop soup. However, I definitely won't order from them again. read more

They told me it would be 45 mins. 2 hours later I called and was wondering the status of my order, I got disconnected. The next time I called back the person handed the phone off to another person who told me that they didn't have any delivery drivers to take my order to me. (Then why did you take my order?) This is my second favorite place to get Chinese food. Two main greats about this place are that they deliver and you get a helluva lot of food for the money. I'm a big eater, as are my teenage sons, and we always have leftovers when we eat here. They really pack the food into their carry out containers (which are reusable, another plus). They have never once messed up an order, which a lot of places do when I order for our large family. The food is decent American Chinese, with lots of sauce and lots of meat. Many places include more vegetables than meat in their dishes, something I just don't want when I want Chinese food. This place barely gives vegetables and piles on the meat! Perfect! I did a quick Yelp search trying to find Chinese near my office for lunch. China Coast was fairly close -- and they have my favorite General Tso, so I gave it a try. Unfortunately Its like dozens of other Chinese restaurants you find anywhere. You know the kind -- small with color pictures of most of their dishes above the order counter. The dish was ok, but there was no broccoli -- either they forgot or just didn't bother. Its not like a Chinese restaurant can forget to include the vegetables in a dish. Perhaps I should give it another try and pick a different dish, but I fear the experience will be the same. The serving was a decent size, and the price was a good deal -- including a drink.
