The atmosphere was great and peaceful, except for the loudmouth drunks in the bar. That's to be expected. However, our extremely inattentive and obviously inexperienced waitress just plain sucked! We are obnoxiously polite, so it wasn't us. First off, we actually needed to ask for water twice. In fact, everything had to be asked for. Every Chinese restaurant I've been to over the last 48 years always brings you water and tea automatically. Even though there were only two of us, we ordered a crazy amount of food. Did we get duck sauce without having to ask? What do you think? She only made one appearance, and that was only after I stood up and flagged her down. It was early Friday afternoon, and the place was practically empty except for the nearby bar; so it wasn't like she was overworked. She just didn't care. Despite that, I still tipped her $28 on a $102 tab. I always tip very well. What really frosted my ass, was when we asked for containers of duck sauce to take home with our leftovers. Instead of bringing us fresh duck sauce, she just threw empty cups on the table and walked away expecting us to pour the duck sauce from our meal that was left over into the cups, which we did. If you think that's bad, when we asked her to box up our leftovers to take home, she looked irritated and just threw empty styrofoam containers at us, so we had to box it ourselves! What's up with that?!?!!! I don't like to argue if I don't have to. Seriously? Think about that! Are they so cheap they can't bring us fresh duck sauce after all we paid for a ton of food? I would have paid for the extra duck sauce to take home, but she never returned so I could ask. She was so bad, that I had to start a new tab with another waitress four times, just to get another Pepsi, hot and sour soup, another order of beef teriyaki and a scorpion bowl. Why four times? Because each time we placed an order they kept coming with the bill without asking us if we're finished yet. Yes, I paid five times! (Nearly $180) Sorry for the essay folks, but if you read this far, you would understand my frustration. The crab rangoons were decent but nothing special. Throughout the meal, service continued to be lacking. We never received a check-in after our food was delivered and had to flag down our server multiple times just to get water refills. The lack of attentiveness from the staff was frustrating, especially considering the prices. The restaurant has plenty of seating, but it was very loud, making conversation difficult at times. There are many Chinese places around, this place is the best one hands down. China Cuisine has been my family's go to Chinese food restaurant for years, they never disappoint! Whenever we stray, and try a new Chinese restaurant we find ourselves comparing the food to China Cuisine. I would even go there just to get a bowl of their Wonton Soup. Though this place doesn't have as much traditional Chinese food, the food they do serve is delicious. They accept modifications to dishes. One thing that keeps customers coming back is their amazing customer service. Even when simply picking up takeout they ask how your day is going and are always smiling. The owners are very kind people that genuinely care about their customers. They are always giving back to the community, and are always involved with all the local youth sport teams. In the waiting area they proudly display the local sports teams they have sponsored, and they have frequently hosted Student Council or Relay for Life Team fundraisers to support their community. Ask anyone who lives in or around North Reading, they will say that going to China Cuisine is a must. The prices are fair, the food and portions are really good, and the staff are all very friendly. I stopped to get takeout at approximately 4:30 pm. Instead of getting fresh food from dinner-I got what seemed to be left overs from lunch. The egg rolls were so tough that we had trouble cutting them with a knife- there was more batter than chicken on the chicken fingers and even the filing in the crab rangoon was crusty from reheating.
