I don't know how this place has been voted "best Chinese in Conroe". The chicken I ordered was completely drenched in an enormous puddle of sauce that made the crust on the chicken way too soggy. The cuts of chicken were grisly and I had to spit out inedible pieces of chicken more times than I care to admit. The meat in the rice was dry and tasted like it came from a can. The egg drop soup was all congealed and gross like a hot gelatin sauce. I threw away most of the huge portion and still left hungry. The egg roll was okay. read more

Back in the day when the original owner was there I think he's retired anyway it was really good he made sure that the food was hot and fresh. The food now it is pretty gross they mix fresh ingredients with old ingredients the chicken chunks are so huge and then they're completely overcooked makes me sad because this place used to be awesome. read more

I've never given a 1 star review before, but this place actually inspired me to come to Yelp and write one, so here it goes... Let me start by saying that I have lived abroad and eaten some pretty strange things. I have never had anything quite like the egg drop soup here. After trying one spoonful, I somehow mustered the courage to spoon in another, and I've regretted it to this day. I shudder just thinking about it, the flavor, the consistency, ugh! The waitress recommended the Szechuan beef, and it was indeed a LOT of food. The meat wasn't very good, the vegetables overcooked, and the sauce was thick (as in cornstarch-y), and the little flavor it had wasn't very good. I admit that the bad experience could be in part due to not ordering well (just giving the benefit of the doubt), but it's enough for me to never go back there. My impression was that this is probably the worst Chinese restaurant in Conroe (I've been to most of them). Yes, some people like this place. I get it. If you just want large portions and don't mind that the taste of the food is somewhere between mediocre and lousy, give this place a shot. read more

hmmm I don't know? was it awesome? certainly not. However the chicken chunks were huge, with not too much breading. I hate getting tiny chunks of chicken around inches of breading! Sauce was good, it had a unique flavor...I certainly didn't expect it. Tasted more authentic to what I ate IN China, so that was good. Sorry but this place is way overated. Had the shared family platter with egg roll, egg drop soup, fried rice, bbq ribs, chicken chow mein and sweet and sour chicken. Probably the worst chinese food I have ever eaten. The soup was almost the consistency of jello. The ribs were good. Th chicken chow mein tasted like it had rotten cabbage in it and the I think they used gizzards to make the sweet and sour chicken. We walked in at 8:45 and were reminded by the rude waitress that they close at 9:00 and we needed to hurry up and order. Came here for Mother's Day, with this being only my 2nd time visiting I was not expecting much since the first time was terrible, my noodles tasted like peanuts, stale peanuts. So on my second go around, me and my mother both got the teriyaki chicken and the moment it hit the table I thought I was in the rhino of exhibit at the zoo, the unrelenting smell of urine overwhelmed our whole table, so no one eating at this point and since we never touched our food we didn't expect to pay $70 for a meal not eaten. Very few customers on a Thursday evening, but the first waitress was very pushy and wanted us to order immediately. The Chicken Fried Rice featured uncooked rice, no chicken, and no flavor. My husband was unable to eat this dish. My Moo Goo Gai Pan was almost tasteless and the chicken was slimy and cold. We were with guests so we felt it inappropriate to complain, but we will never go back! Went with a friend on a Wednesday night, about half of the tables were full. We were greeted and seated right away. The hostess took our drink orders as we sat down and received our menus. Shortly our waiter brought us our drinks and asked if we had any questions about the menu and if we wanted to order any appetizers. I got a lg bowl of wonton soup. I had no clue it would be huge. There were probably a dozen meat stuffed wontons. The leftovers made for a good lunch the next day. Our waiter took our orders, and within 15 minutes we had our orders. The portions are more than generous. I had the Hunan Chicken and my friend had the Black Pepper Chicken. My meal was good, as was my companions. Our waiter was very attentive and had a nice genuine kind of demeanor. Great value for the money. If you are feeding a family of four, get the dinner for two. It's twenty bucks, and has so much food my family eats on it for two days.. They have really great food, great service, and good prices. They give you a ton of food! We order for pick up and I love how no matter what you order they say.. ten minutes.. sometimes this isn't true, but there are chairs inside for the short wait. We had lunch there today and the food was awful! Hubby had the sweet and sour pork and I had the beef with broccoli meals, Hubby's pork was heavily breaded and raw inside. My beef tasted like fat and had so much gravy I had to dig for the broccoli. The soup (if you can call it that was horrible- it tasted sour) Needless to say, we left all untouched , paid our bill, left a tip (the waitress was awesome) and left. I stopped here when I saw the sign "voted best in Montgomery county" wow did I make a mistake. The place didn't look very clean and that should have been enough for me to walk away, sadly I didn't. I ordered the teriyaki chicken, wonton soup and cheese puffs. I got the soup and it was so bad I can't describe it. The wontons were mushy and the look of the "meat" I didn't even try it. The juice was greasy tasteless. Then the crab puffs where just plain gross and when I took a bite grease dripped out of it. Then I got the teriyaki chicken and it looked liked frozen chicken fried chicken patties cut in pieces and some kind of gravy on top. It had an old freezer burn taste to it. You do get large portions but what good is that if you can't eat it. I was sick to my stomach the rest of the day. I only took a few bites, I'm glad I didn't eat more and get food poisoning. It was expensive to boot. Last but by no means least the waitress asked for a tip! I tip very well when I get good food and service, but my pet peeve is being asked for a tip. We used to eat here a long time ago and it was pretty good. Today my father in law wanted take out so I suggested coming here. First off I was trying to order the sweet and sour kids meal, and trade out the wontons for an eggroll- which can not be done. The kids meal it's self is almost $7 and I've never ordered one before so whenever I ordered 2 plates for my kids and they both ate out of one plate and there was still a lot left over. They are both heavy eaters. Most of the batter on the chicken was too crunchy to let my daughter eat so I had to take most of the batter off first. When I got home with my food ( with no stops on the way)my wonton soup was cold. I have ordered this before and taken it home so I know that it should have still been hot. I ordered the Hunan Chicken and it smelled like pee when I opened the box. I did taste it, and it was OK, but I could only handle a couple of bites because it smelled so bad. We paid about $50 for 3 adult plates and 2 kids meals, I think I'm going to stick to the local buffets from now on. read more
