We called to place our order ahead of time on a weeknight and it was ready in 20 minutes. They firmly let us know that they were closing at 7 and expected us to pick up before then. The prices are comparable to other Chinese cuisine in the area. All of our food was fresh and tasty. We enjoyed the honey walnut shrimp and the fried rice. Most places will allow you to choose white or fried rice with entrees and Angkor says "white rice only", but I am glad I decided to order fried rice anyway. It was colorful, rich, flavorful- all that fried rice should be. My only critique was for the noodles. They gelled together into 1 big lump. Maybe they were put into the container piping hot? The flavors were still there but the noodles forming 1 inseparable mass made them challenging to eat. Overall we were highly satisfied with our food and will order takeout from them again. read more

Pick up only Asian spot off of Foley Blvd and 109th in the strip mall. They have 4 or 5 seats to wait for your food and few tables for order pickup. I ordered the vegetable delight. The entrees come with a side of white rice or the other option is a combo where the entree portion is smaller but comes with a side of fried rice and one egg roll or 3 wontons. I went on a weeknight, dinner time and the order came in about 15 minutes The food was hot and fresh after driving it home. The vegetable delight had a bit of a sweet taste for those that like that. Lazy to cook and decided to order takeout. Down the street is this gem called Angkor. They are Cambodian owned and offers Chinese and Cambodian food. Small restaurant, no dining, just togo orders only. If you don't want to wait for the food, call them in advance. Otherwise you can order at the counter. Their salt and pepper wings are delicious, it's this dry rub that's sprinkled on top of fried chicken. My usual Angkor fried rice is combination meat fried rice is always good. Angkor has become our go-to for Asian delivery. I'll have to remember to take some pics next time. First off, they are meticulous in packing orders. Anything that could spill or seep is wrapped in plastic. Every container is placed carefully in the bag so that nothing can fall over. And after more than a dozen orders, they've never made a mistake. Next of course is the food. We've tried a good chunk of their menu and everything has been phenomenal. Their Fried Rice is probably the best we've had. The broth for their Wonton soup puts everyone else to shame. The Chicken Wings are craveable. My wife absolutely loves their Crispy Walnut Shrimp. Anything that includes a sauce isn't drowned in it, and anything intended to be sweet isn't cloying. One caution; if you order anything labeled as spicy, especially their Cambodian dishes, they're not kidding about the heat. Last time I ordered the Kung Pao Beef and added a note to keep the spice level reasonable, and they nailed it. read more

Angkor was a pleasant surprise! Drove from Maple Grove for takeout because there aren't any good classic Chinese American restaurant around anymore. It was worth the drive to get the food how we like it and they did it! Plus... they actually use REAL chicken! Sad to say that many restaurants use cheap grade chicken, but Angkor has quality! Food: Cream Cheese Wontons- a little on the sweet side... they were nice and crispy, but almost dessert like. 3/5 Chicken Egg foo yung- I loved it crispy and the sauce was rich and flavorful. 5/5 Chicken chow mein- this is what my hubby was craving and it satisfied the cravings! Thick gravy and tasted how we wanted it and the chicken was nice quality. 5/5 Chicken Fried Rice- The rice had nice flavor, but I prefer a little more soy taste. We will request next time. 4/5 Chicken Broccoli- once again, the chicken was real and white meat. Sauce reminded us of a peppery garlic Vietnamese style chow mein. I didn't take any photos but still wanted to stop by and drop a review. We got Hot Spicy Chicken, Schezwan Chicken, and a couple of other dishes. Everything was hot and delicious. We were pleasantly surprised at the spice levels of the dishes! Usually the level is Minnesota hot but this was true hot and spicy. We got cream cheese wontons but aren't fans of sweet wontons. We had a little trouble finding it. It's way back in a little strip mall and the snow banks in the parking lot were huge. It is a really small place with only four tables but we saw a lot of takeout while we were there. Each time the front door opened we got a rush of cold air. The food made up for all of this. I had the combo Kung Pao Chicken which was very good. I like some spice and it was good without asking for more spice. We also had pork with pea pods which was also tasty. I thought I was back in San Francisco when we walked in...it's a tiny place in a strip mall. Small in restaurant size but enormous in taste! I'm a fresh veg lover, so when I see Pea Pod on the menu-I'm in! So glad I tried the Pork Pea Pod! Fresh tasting entree and it had the best just-grilled taste! Great portion sizes (including the rice amount-so different from the place we were Saturday!). Huge amount of delivery food going out and lots of call-in orders for pickup. Ever since our previous Asian spot started cutting corners on quality a few years ago, we switched to Angkor. This is our go-to, and we go about once a week. Fresh, outstanding food, fast pickup, friendly staff, and very reasonable prices. Pad Thai noodles, sesame chicken, and vegetable egg foo young are favourites with us. They food is really good and I will definitely be going back. I feel the prices are high and the portions are not large but over the last year that has become the new norm. But back to good their fried rice was amazing and no peas. The Tangerine beef was also great it was quality meat and lightly breaded and a ton of flavors. We also tried some egg rolls they were odd shaped more like a taquito. Great little Chinese restaurant on the east side of Coon Rapids. The combos are a great value but everything else is a tad pricey in my opinion but not enough to keep me from going there. Sesame and Orange Chicken dishes are both great. The fried rice is the best though. None of that peas and carrots crap in there, just egg, onion and sprouts! Dined in the first time but will only do carry out going forward due to soda prices. They charge $3.00 for a tiny cup of soda, granted there's free refills but they don't really watch for you to need refills and they're just filled from 2 liter bottles so selection is very small too. I've ordered take-out from this restaurant a few times over the yeas. They have Vietnamese or Cambodian egg rolls, but I don't care for the sauce, which is a generic low quality sweet and sour, which really wrecks the flavor of the egg rolls themselves. They seemed to want the identity of a more ethnic restaurant, but instead caters to the salt-and-pepper palate of the locals. The food is usually cooked well, but it's the basic Americanized Chinese. Service has always been very good, either in restaurant or delivery, and the restaurant itself is very clean, from what I've observed. If you're looking for a quick go-to to meet a craving, don't hesitate! But if you're looking for authentic fish sauce for the egg rolls, you won't find it here. read more

This should probably be a 3.5 Star review. We have tried EVERY Chinese take out restaurant in the area and really have no found anything very good. And my requirements are not that high! Angkor, however, might be leading the pack! This was my second stop here, the first was ok but I thought maybe the chicken I ordered had been recooked? This time, I ordered a Sesame chicken combo dinner (medium spicy) and it was delicious! Definitely better than anything I've found. The spice was perfect - enough to feel it but not overpowering. Sauce was sweet and a bit caramelized, not running and overpowering like most places. The fried rice is really good - I love the bean sprouts in it. The eggroll...leaves a LOT to be desire, BUT again...they are marginally better than others in the area. This time I got the wontons and they were good. My husband had Kung Pao chicken that looked pretty good - he seemed pretty happy with this place vs. others as well. Its a BIT further away, but they do deliver. I hope to try this place a couple more times to be able to bump the rating up. But so far so good! read more

We had food from here delivered through door dash tonight. We live a little over 10 and the food was super hot when it was delivered. The wrapped everything in plastic wrap and it kept it super warm. The egg drop soup was creamy and delicious so silky smooth. We also had egg rolls, potstickers, cream cheese wontons, Lomein, cashew chicken, shrimp and pea pods. Everything had so much flavor. I heavily criticize Asian restaurants in America because they're all nothing more than standard "copy and paste" nonsense that plagues a nation of genius cuisine. This place is special. Angkor is so so so good there aren't enough stars to accurately express how excellent the quality of food is. When you walk in, the entire establishment is roughly half the size of a small closet. There's a set of double doors and when you ring the bell, the server appears like a sheriff in an epic western film. This food is the best Chinese cuisine I have ever had and it is EASILY the cheapest. Seriously, if you want masterfully crafted food at a sacrilegious price, eat here and you will never regret the choice. They deliver as well which gives them infinite bonus points on my scale.
