They give out big portions and the guy on the phone was soo sweeett he gave me some eggrolls I got the egg drop soup because who doesn't love egg drop soup, orange chicken since it's my fav, sesame chicken and their lo mein cause I love me some noodles!!! Everything was super yummy and not too greasy. Their fortune cookies were good and not stale and they have some free sauces and chopsticks if needed! Great service. Some of the freshest vegetables I've had in Chinese food. The broccoli was crispy fresh. I had the Szechwan Shrimp. My wife had the Garlic Shrimp. The shrimp was huge and very flavorful on its own. Both the Garlic and Szechwan had enough spice without killing the flavor of the shrimp. Both meals were plentiful. It made two meals for my wife. Ok so I love Asian food. There is little I can ever find I don't love about it. That being said, let me tell you about these folks here. This dude answered the phone and asked for my number so he could log me into his system and remember my order preferences!! I mean these folks will actually recommend what you might want again in the event you just don't know what you want!! Wow!! They even allow for you to call in and give your number so they can simply make your usual for you!! Now for the food. I have had many dishes here and all were great, but the noodles........ oh my Lord Jesus in Heaven above....... The noodles here are sent from the gods. They are amazing. These folks somehow manage to make them taste like no other you have ever had. They are fresh and taste almost home made. The next thing they do is manage to Harry Potter the Noodle box to hold enough to feed you for two meals. I'm a big guy and I was totally unable to down the whole container. I been ordering food from here for close to two years, 2-3 times a month and it is always spot on. The service is fantastic as well. Always a prompt delivery. I may have had one order that didn't come out right but that was probably Grubhubs fault. I honestly love this place. I used to rarely eat Chinese, this place keeps me coming back. The food was very fresh and the service very good. The egg rolls obviously made fresh in house unlike many other Chinese places around here. I got the dragon and Phoenix and my mother ordered the garlic chicken from the lunch menu. The shrimp was big and cooked perfectly. The fried chicken in mine was a little heavy for my taste, but still good. I tried a bit of the garlic chicken my mom had and it was so tender and flavorful. I'll probably order that next time. The portions are extremely generous! I could have split my meal with two other people. The lunch portion is smaller but still huge. There isn't much atmosphere, but it's very clean, comfy and relaxing. And it's nice going to a restaurant and not having to yell over loud TV or music. Ordered the szechuan chicken with steamed rice - absolute terrible choice. Vegetables constituted about 80% of the dish, which is not completely disappointing, but it was the fact that it had no seasoning whatsoever. Hardly any salt even, the sauce just tasted like brown water. It's amazing considering Chinese takeout is notorious for high salt levels. I'm absolutely blown away by how under seasoned the food was. I understand that it is supposed to be cheap food, but calling this szechuan chicken is insulting. Sichuan cuisine should be spicy, pungent, very flavorful with the unique mouth tingling from the Sichuan peppers. There is none of this here, not even salt. The people's liberation army would arrest you if you tried to serve this in Chengdu. The food was cooked very well - the veggies were nice and crispy, but not raw, and the chicken slices were tender and juicy. This wasn't an expensive menu item, but for $8+, I would expect a lot more chicken. I can buy two whole chickens for less than $8 retail at the grocery store - I can't imagine how cheap it would be for a restaurant. For food that was minimally seasoned and sauced, I guess it should be expected to get shorted on meat as well. I have uploaded a picture of the dish - I did scoop out some of the food to eat, but I kept the ratio of chicken to veggies about the same as I received it. I've eaten here plenty of times in the past, but only stuck to general tsao's chicken. If you have to eat here, get that instead. I made a quick trip home to help out with a family emergency. Mom hurt her leg and was/is still stuck in bed. As the dutiful daughter, I sometimes made trips to pick up some takeout. One of mom's requests was the combination lo mein from China Dragon. The place reminds me of small family owned restaurants we used to go to when I was a kid. Speaking of families, two of the owners' kids greeted me and took my order. Cute, right? And the food? Well, the lo mein was a tad bit on the greasy side but it was good. Think of whenever you've been hungover and in the mood for comfort food, this place is just that. I can see why my parents (FYI - they've never been hungover nor are they big drinkers) have made this one of their regular places. For those lazy to dine in or too sick to pick up, they deliver. I am a Chinese Food aficionado and used to live in The San Francisco Bay Area and so I've partaken in a ton of authentic Chinese Food, so when i moved to Shreveport, La i found that without a doubt this is the best Chinese Food I've found in Shreveport!!! The food is always hot and fresh especially when you eat in. Now I will admit that CD has a minuscule dining area because, I believe, they've put the focus on dining out and carry out, which is fine, I do both. It's a treat to in there cause of the ultra freshness of their cuisine!! The owner, Jack, is super friendly and remembers almost all of his customers, and that's a bonus!!! I wish that I didn't have to write this review. But after my experience with this restaurant, I feel that I have to. I called and asked if they delivered to my location. She said that they do. I ordered Beef lo me in with no veggies, tofu soup and coconut chicken lunch special. She informed me that I would need to order more because there was a minimum of 25.00. I added a shrimp fried rice and she said it was close enough at 23.00. When my order arrived I paid and tipped the driver. When I opened the order, it was missing the lo mein so I called to ask them to bring it. She said she never charged me for it. I asked how can that be because I had added the fried rice just to bring my order up to 25.00. She said that she hadn't included the lo mein but HAD included a 4.95 charge for delivery because it was under 25.00!! Huh? I bought something I hadn't really wanted to get my order delivered but the thing I did want wasn't included and they charged 4.95 plus I tipped the guy? Anyway she proceeds to yell at me that she should charge me another 4.95 to deliver lo mein and my location is 15 minutes each way etc. I tried to explain that it wasn't my fault that they didn't charge me for it but that I still needed it and of course would pay for it but would not pay the 4.95 She finally agreed. A long story , I know. But in the end I paid a 4.95 delivery and had to tip twice because of their mistake. As a business they should have apologized and not yelled. They get a star because their food was ok..but their attitude and business practice is terrible. Next time, repeat the order back and if you're charging something extra, tell the customer. It should be my choice, not theirs. read more
