Sweet & Sweet and Sour Chicken (before the red sauce)

Surprisingly tasty despite the bad reviews. Ordered Kung Pao Beef mild spicy, quite expensive $16 comes with free rice in usual take out box. It was good. Also ordered sweet & sour chicken, it was good too. I'm asian so my standards are high for what's good and not. Lol. Overall, good food, good packaging (I ordered through Doordash and the bag was taped for safety measures.) I recommend the place and would order again when I'm in the area.

Like the famous W.C. Fields quip about Philadelphia, I spent a week in Shreveport last night. The registration desk girl at the motel I stayed at had a mouth full of Skittles while she checked me in. Even though she had a bright blue tongue, I asked her where might a decent place to grab a bite be? She said the Wendy's down the road is nice. Then she thrust a Great Wall brochure at me. The floors in my room were sweaty. There was no desk. No chair. Somebody tried to walk into my room. Always pay attention to the For Your Protection sign that says When In Room Engage Deadbolt and Security Latch. Ptomaine poisoning from Chinese delivery seemed appropriate for my night in Shreveport. And then the Great Wall bag of goodness arrived. General Tso chicken. Spring Rolls. Hot & Sour soup. I pulled the bedside lamp table around to the front of the bed to use as a place to eat. Hunched over, sitting on the bed, trying to not let my feet touch the floor. I was astonished. The chicken was tender and there was plenty of it. Spicy too. Spring rolls were delicate and packed with flavor. But the surprise was the--soup. Two massive dumplings that would have been at home in any Sunday afternoon chicken and dumplings bowl. A broth that was warm and lifegiving--and one full shrimp to add that little touch of Relax, I've Got You. If Shreveport was nuked tomorrow, I'm not sure I would blink an eye. I would just hope that the Great Wall folks got out in time.

Terrible atmosphere. Dirty floors and mirrors. Still ate there because I'm from out of town and close to my hotel. The chicken seemed like it was made of rubber, hard to chew. Never went to a place where they messed up chicken so bad. Didn't even think about asking for a to go plate. Really hated to pay for it. Nice waitress though.

Hot and Sour soup was fantastic. Very flavorful with great ingredients.

Terrible. Food was old and dry. Staff could learn service . Did not eat half off what I picked out. Pretty rough when jello is bad.

First time there. We weren't totally happy. We probably did not understand the menu so ask if it's your first time. Service was great.

My party and I had a wonderful experience at Chen's Garden in Shreveport. We started with the crab…read morerangoons, which were fried perfectly with a rich, flavorful crab filling. We also tried the soft-shell crab--it was beautifully presented and tasted incredibly fresh. One guest ordered the seafood combination dinner and said everything was well-cooked, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. The fried rice that came with the seafood dinner was cooked very nicely with egg and great texture. Another had the orange chicken, and although there were several chili peppers in the sauce, it wasn't too spicy--just right. The orange flavor really came through, and everything was fried crisp, not soggy. I ordered the Dragon and Phoenix dinner (General Tso's chicken and shrimp with onion and ginger slices), and it was hands down the best General Tso's I've ever had. The shrimp were beautifully cooked, and I opted for lo mein instead of rice--it was fresh, lightly sauced, and not oily at all. This is not a buffet, and honestly, it felt like stepping back 40 years to when Chinese restaurants were more intimate, authentic, and personal. The staff was friendly and courteous, and the time from ordering to receiving our food was impressively quick. I highly recommend this hidden gem. They also offer sushi and a variety of lunch specials (we visited outside of lunch hours), and everything looked so good that I'll definitely be back to try more dishes.

Usually through the convenient drive through window. Just call in your order and it'll probably be ready when you get there. This review will be focused on my last dine in visit. June 6th 6:20 PM- party of 2. We were sat around the corner in a secluded table. Simma was pretty okay with it. Taste China has a somewhat limited "full" bar offering liquor, beer and wine. Our ML arrived at 6:26 ($4) Appetizers at 8:30 and 8:33 (eggrolls and pot stickers) the food wasn't overly greasy. The Eggrolls were crispy and flaky, while the potstickers were a combination of crispy and chewy. Jason usually orders the LSU roll- a battered and fried sushi roll. He gives it 5 stars. I would prefer to chuck it the garbage. No star. He likes it because it does not have avocado. I hate it because it's hot and fried. (Picture included) Last time we were there I ordered the Happy Family ($16) a deliciously saucy blend of several meat- chicken , beef, shrimp, crawfish and scallops. On this visit we agreed to share and I ordered the same dang thing. (Imma have to expand my menu) Everything was delicious. The service was Amazing.dinner for 2 was $36.
