Wanted Chinese food and this was the closest place , Knew I was having it to go when I arrived and knew even more when they state a gratuity is automatically added on a note at the front door for eating in ( not a fan of being told I'm tipping a certain amount) The food was ok I had chicken lo mein meal which came with wonton soup and eggrolls ( a bit greasy for me) After adding my salt and pepper to the lo mein is was ok. The food is ready fast as most places are. They serve decent portions Outside was tough with a tobacco drive thru blocking the driveway in with an extended line . From the outside, this place doesn't look so hot. The inside is also a bit plain. With pandemic protocols in place, service is mediocre...like you go to a table to get your own utensils and sauces. But the staff is very friendly. Then there's the food...which is pretty darn good! I went with the Mu Shu Pork upgraded to a full dinner. That means you get additional items like rice, soup, and an egg roll. Everything was tasty and there was WAY more food than I could eat. I took my leftovers and it gave me lunch for the next couple of days. I had hot tea...which I'm accustomed to seeing it being complimentary. But here it comes at a fee. Overall, I really enjoyed this place. There's limited parking but when I came in, there was enough. I also noticed a lot of orders to-go. If the locals like it, that's a great sign in my book. Surprisingly tasty despite the bad reviews. Ordered Kung Pao Beef mild spicy, quite expensive $16 comes with free rice in usual take out box. It was good. Also ordered sweet & sour chicken, it was good too. I'm asian so my standards are high for what's good and not. Lol. Like the famous W.C. Fields quip about Philadelphia, I spent a week in Shreveport last night. The registration desk girl at the motel I stayed at had a mouth full of Skittles while she checked me in. Even though she had a bright blue tongue, I asked her where might a decent place to grab a bite be? She said the Wendy's down the road is nice. Then she thrust a Great Wall brochure at me. The floors in my room were sweaty. There was no desk. No chair. Somebody tried to walk into my room. Always pay attention to the For Your Protection sign that says When In Room Engage Deadbolt and Security Latch. Ptomaine poisoning from Chinese delivery seemed appropriate for my night in Shreveport. And then the Great Wall bag of goodness arrived. General Tso chicken. Spring Rolls. Hot & Sour soup. I pulled the bedside lamp table around to the front of the bed to use as a place to eat. Hunched over, sitting on the bed, trying to not let my feet touch the floor. I was astonished. The chicken was tender and there was plenty of it. Spicy too. Spring rolls were delicate and packed with flavor. But the surprise was the--soup. Two massive dumplings that would have been at home in any Sunday afternoon chicken and dumplings bowl. A broth that was warm and lifegiving--and one full shrimp to add that little touch of Relax, I've Got You. If Shreveport was nuked tomorrow, I'm not sure I would blink an eye. Stopped on my way home from Dallas to Prairieville (south Louisiana) to pick up an order of their "Chinese hot wings." They are coated in a spicy salt & pepper seasoning and sprinkled with garlic, onions, & jalapeños. My wife declared that they were the best wings she's ever eaten. I can't comment on the other food, but the wings were a hit! We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the Shreveport area. read more

My overall experience at the Great Wall was just simply OK. The waiter seemed knowledgeable about the menu, and happy to wait on us. The spring roll and crab rangoon was good. The soup was great at well. Unfortunately, the fried rice was HORRIBLE! It tasted very musty- kind of like a sweaty sock. The flavor wasn't really there. When I asked for something else, the manager told me no, and I still had to pay for the meal. I'm disappointed because me and my friend drove over an hour for some "good" food. I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. I've read lots of reviews and they have been very helpful. In fact it was good enough that I decided to register and put in my first review! The Service was amazingly fast and friendly, prices are very reasonable, and the food was great. I had the Szechuan Shrimp. The shrimp and all the vegetables were fresh and tasty. I got the Dragon & Phoenix, a mixture of General Tso's chicken and Spicy Shrimp & Veggies. The sauce was quite good though the chicken seemed just about average. I even spooned the rest of my side of white rice into the sauce to make sure I got every bite. The shrimp & veggies were tasty. My girlfriend got the lemon chicken, which she said was above average. I stopped in here for lunch and had the beef with broccoli. They used a lot of five spice which I love. It gave their food a more unique flavor even though it was really the same thing. The broccoli was nice and fresh unlike some places I've been to. For about 6.50 for lunch, I had an entree, soup, and eggroll with rice. Great deal. Everything was very good. I usually prefer more authentic chinese food but they are way above the rest of the more americanized places. The reason I didn't give them a 5 is because the services was lacking a bit. They weren't that busy but everyone was buzzing around getting things done as quickly as possible. I thought it made the atmosphere less enjoyable than it could have been. I've always enjoyed eating at this restaurant, they have a unique hot and sour soup that is delicious however they no longer put the traditional one shrimp in the bowl which is like leaving the icing off the cake only because some idiot raised hell at them because he didn't know it had shrimp in it. This plannedemic has taken a toll (like others) and their walk in traffic ain't what it used to be, but the food is still very good and reasonably priced. I normally order here once a month but today my food was awful... I called in to-go order with chicken fried rice and two spring rolls. The employee said it would be ready in 10 mins. When I arrived I wanted to add a complete dinner to my order for $3.75. The lady at the register told me to hurry up and make up my mind my food was ready.
