I never write reviews but I had to so maybe this place can work on improving. Around Christmas of 2022 I ordered some wonton soup and it was so greasy and gross and some of the wontons were burnt. I'm not sure how that happens. Then the chicken wings I got were so greasy that I had to take paper towels to soak up the grease. I threw most of them out. The fried rice was greasy and gross and seemed old, like they threw previously made fried rice from days before in a pan with oil. I forgot about how bad it was and ordered again recently. It was so bad, bland, greasy and no flavor at all. I asked for sweet and sour sauce on the side and of course when I got home it was no where to be found. I'm shocked they are still open. UPDATE: Since I wrote my original review in March, I've been back to China Dragon a dozen or so times. The reason I drive past at least 3 other Chinese restaurants (including the pretty darn good Tan's Asian Cafe) is because I feel that C.D. is the heads above all the other casual Chinese places in Tallahassee. Everything is cooked to perfection, from the Pad Thai to the Singapore Chow Mei Fun, my favorite dish from their menu. The one menu item that I've tried that I did not like was the spring rolls. They are chock full of some very 'earthy' mushrooms that overwhelm any other flavors that might be present. I should mention that this is a small operation with usually one, but sometimes two people in the kitchen. I have never been in there at any time of day where they were not already working on food orders, and taking more orders while I wait. Even taking that into account, I've always gotten great service here and not once has my order been wrong, whether it was placed in person or over the phone. read more

I never even realized this place was here until I had to go into this particular shopping plaza at lunch, and Chinese sounded good. I wasn't disappointed. I wasn't excited either. It was the usual, generic menu and all the familiar tastes. I got my usual, beef and broccoli with fried rice. It was tasty, but they did but a little too much oil in there. You can see from the picture I posted the oil pools up on the side. Food is inexpensive and you get a decent size, which is normal for these places. I read old ratings and some of the newer ones. I thought one review of the hot and sour soup was very harsh. It wasn't. I hate writing bad reviews. I really do.. I couldn't eat the soup. It was like old socks. I ordered the beef Mongolian lunch special. The green peas had freezer burn in them. There wasn't a lot of beef, nor was it flavorful. The rice was blah. I've never thrown an entire dinner away before in my life - because I am a foodie and hate to waste things. I also ordered crab Rangoon. The order was generous but they needed help too. Had the bourbon chicken at the China Dragon, and it was horrible. It did not taste like the "traditional" bourbon chicken at most Chinese restaurants; it had a "funny" taste to it. When I called the restaurant about the flavor of the bourbon chicken, they said that I was wrong and their recipe is different from everyone else's. Will not return here! read more

Nice little casual place, great for lunches, I'll have to taste the egg drop to tell how the rest of food is. Considering pretty much all oriental places, food familiar in taste. This place ok. Customer service very lousy. Told lady to go she placed in a bag. Then asked for a plate got a small bowl with no great or ever kind face. If you're looking for fresh, delicious Chinese takeout then look no further. Best Chinese takeout place in Tally! I drive all the way from Killearn to get their food. The prices are good, and the portions are large. Side note, their plastic containers that most main dishes come in are great to reuse. They used to have a buffet for lunch, but they closed that part. The chicken lo mein is great and packed with freshly sautéed veggies, and the sweet&sour chicken contains hearty chunks of meat. They are generous with their fortune cookies and sauces too which is always nice. I'm so glad I tried this little place! read more

This place is in a convenient spot for me and has giant portions and great prices. For that, it gets some credit. The food is also okay to tasty depending on the dish, but it's not great IMO. I'm from CA so maybe I'm just not used to the South's brand of Chinese food lol. Chow mein was weird and confusing, it was like a saucy stew? I couldn't even eat it :( Cashew chicken is pretty good but the sauce is kinda thick Broccoli beef is alright Fried rice is weird but I think it's what is typical over here...rice is bright yellow, there is no egg mixed in :( Sweet and sour chicken was just little fried nuggets of chicken and you put the sweet and sour on top, that was good...chicken was pretty good quality I thinko Also, since our order was above $30 (I think) they gave us free fried wontons which were delicioussss!! This has been our go to Chinese stop for several months now as the food has been pretty tasty but no longer. The customer service of late has been absolutely horrendous. We placed our normal order this evening and were on our way to pick it up when the lady who answers the phone called me and very rudely asked where I was and that the food has been ready for a long time. We live within 15 minutes from the restaurant and were seconds away. When we got there she stood and looked at the clock and then looked at us very rudely. I have never experienced such rude service. I was tempted to just walk out and not purchase the food but it was not the fault of the owner or cook staff. However, with that said, we will not be back. Very delicious bourbon chicken, but the Sesame chicken was a bit sweet. I ordered chicken fingers & fries (unusual but only thing my lil' bro will eat), & the fries were a little soggy. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant compared to most Chinese in Tallahassee. read more

Pretty good food. We came across this restaurant near the hotel we were staying and figured we would try it since we were in the mood for Chinese. Overall the people and food were good. Nothing amazing but for a buffet it was definitely worth going to. I'm not sure I would go again on Sunday for lunch where it seems to be more pricey than every other day of the week during lunch. I found it a little amusing that they had one sushi roll that just consisted of crab and avocado. I think that was a bit of a waste for them to do. If in the area again and I'm craving a wide variety of Chinese food I may go here again, but I've had much better Chinese food. read more

Standard takeout/delivery. Usual estimates for delivery are accurate, pickup estimates are often too short. Portions seem to run small, but the quality seems marginally higher than the competition so that balances things a bit. read more

Very Poor Customer Service. Went there for lunch today because I was given a $20 gift certificate. The woman told me I could only use the gift certificate for the buffet which they were no longer having until march 14, 2016. The gift certificate no where says buffet only. It says valid for DINE-IN Only. She would not let me use the gift certificate to just order food off of the menu. When I basically told her she was taking the persons money that bought the gift certificate and not allowing me to use it, she gained $20. She just shook her head no no no. I said "yes, you took someone's money who bought my a gift certificate and now you won't allow me to use it." She continued to shake her head no. I asked if there was anyone else I could speak with and she again shook her head no no. Very rude. I said I would take my business elsewhere and she just walked off. Would not recommend anyone eat here much less buy a gift certificate for someone else. read more
