I have mixed feelings. We often order delivery from this restaurant. Sometimes it arrives in a timely fashion; often it does not. We've had to refuse two orders for delivery that extended over an hour past the promised time. When it does arrive, the food quality and taste is good, and we at least try to place repeat orders. From the moment I walked in, the entire place had a strong, unpleasant odor that immediately made me question the cleanliness. I should have trusted that instinct. SF1. Sweet and Sour Shrimp I've been a loyal customer at Chopstix for years and have always appreciated their generous portions and solid food. I've recommended this place to so many people. This was my first time ordering the sweet and sour shrimp, and unfortunately, it was a major letdown. I paid $15.95 for what was listed as a large, and received just six small shrimp with a side of sweet and sour sauce--no rice, no extras. I honestly thought it had to be a mistake. I called to check, and the woman who answered was very kind and professional. She followed up with the cook and confirmed that what I received was correct. I have no problem paying for good food, but the quality (and quantity) should to match the price. This didn't feel like the Chopstix I've always known and loved. First, there is an overwhelming horrible smell as soon as you walk in the door. I overlooked it, since sometimes things go wrong. Secondly, I should have walked out not only because of the smell, but because of how messy the place was. The service was alright, nothing to write home about. So as I said in my previous review, I was so disappointed that I would never order food from this place again... I do however work in a retired living facility with the elderly who have limited options because of accessibility and aged tastebuds. So I've watched this tenant call and go to voicemail. Unfortunately , she left her order info and card number on the voicemail and is now afraid to order from somewhere else because she doesn't know if this order has went through yet. Because she's had such a tough day, I volunteered to try and get in contact with someone for her. Since then I've called over 15 times in the last half hour and still no answer. Busy coding away on my keyboard no time to stop and go out or cook so I used eatstreet app on here to get delivery. The reviews where very mixed from both extremes. But I felt in the mood for a no frills shopping center styrofoam container greasy and salty Chinese spot. But when it came was actually a more healthy one. Things must of changed since done of those reviews. Got taiwanese chow mei fun had a good blend of shrimp, pork and chicken the noodles where great. It wasn't the dive experience, I wanted, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was not salty or greasy at all. My blood pressure will thank me later. My kid got the chicken lomien and chicken sticks. I used Yelp Eat 24 to order food to work. This place had Great prices and only a $3.00 delivery fee. Food: The portions are great for the price! I ordered the Thai pineapple chicken fried rice (small), Pad Thai (small) and honey chicken. The pad Thai was bland and different I won't order it again. The Thai fried rice wasn't really thai fried rice, it was really Chinese fried rice with pineapples thrown in and a little spice. It had flavor in general but lacked flavor from the pineapple, it was almost as if they just threw in the pineapple and tossed it around for a few seconds. The honey chicken seemed a little too think for my liking. I mean the food was edible and arrived within the quoted time period. if I had to order from here again I would. All in all I won't order Thai food though. I would try other Chinese food dishes though given the good prices. The delivery man was nice. read more

This is imo the best Chinese in tally. Their pad Thai is pretty good too. I've literally ordered like 5-6 times this past month cause it's been hitting so good. It's farther from campus but way better than long garden or blossom. My order is usually sweet and sour chicken with veggie fried rice. If I could leave a negative review, I would. At 530 in the afternoon I ordered deliver for a friend and I. They notified me that it was gonna take about an hour for the food to come my house, that is totally fine. An hour goes by, no food. Two hours goes by, no food. Finally an hour and a half goes by and its right before my friend has to leave, I call the restaurant to find out the hold up and they just tell me they will call me back. They call me back say it will be at my home in 10 min, on top of this they ask if I would like to leave a tip...No, i waited 2 and half hours and my friend cannot even eat the food he paid for. They finally get to my house and leave, and I call the restaurant and demand my money back. I am not paying for food that cant even be ate. They notify me that my refund is accepted. I hate this place. I'm writing this from the porcelain throne. I ate a late lunch/early dinner today, Christmas, for the holiday novelty of it. I had fried pork wontons, an egg roll even though I ordered a spring roll, egg drop soup, and the weirdest looking sesame chicken I've ever seen. While waiting for my food, I was assaulted by the stench of stagnant water from the coolers. I should have run right then and there. No refund, no explanation, just evacuation. This is my second visit here and my first during the weekday lunch. They have a buffet during lunch but I ordered a combo plate. This is definitely a take out place with all styrofoam containers. There are no dishes and even plastic cutlery. My hot and sour soup came in a small styrofoam cup. It was very flavorful and is better than a lot of places in town. It is almost the best. The spring roll was good. I'm not sure if they roll them in house though. You order first and pay before you get your food. I don't like this when dining in when you don't know what the service will be like. (It was non existent so I over tipped). This visit I ordered the chicken with cashew combo. The chicken was fried and the vegetables were fresh. This came with pork fried rice. I used a lot of chili oil on the dish to give it some oomph. I have also had here the Thai chicken with peanut sauce which was very good. Overall, this is a value priced place, good for take out and good solid food. I'm new to the area and wanted a go-to Chinese take-out place. I drive by Chopstix daily and decided to stop in. It was empty when I arrived at 7PM but other patrons slowly trickled in as I waited for my to-go order. I got the Taiwan-style chow mei fun and hot & sour soup for myself and a bourbon chicken combo, that came with an egg roll, for the boyfriend. I get the soup and noodle dish at every Chinese take-out as those items are my litmus test for good Chinese food. And I am happy to report they both pass the test. The soup was perfectly seasoned and filled with a hearty amount of vegetables such as tofu, mushrooms and bamboo. So thankful there was no meat in the soup. The mushrooms were fresh and the tofu was soft. They get extra points for having fresh, crunchy "chips" for the soup. The mei fun was the true test though. The noodles were whole and intact and the dish was not wet and drenched in sauce. Places that don't know what they're doing will give you a glop of wet noodles that are cut into tiny pieces. The bourbon chicken was well seasoned white meat chicken. The egg roll was homemade, not that frozen, mass-produced stuff. Though small, it was still a treat to eat. I will definitely be returning. As a side note, they have an all-day buffet. I didn't walk around to see what was on the bar but they made fresh items as patrons came in. It was quite tasty, but it was not spicy; I would rate it a mild spice level. My husband and son got the honey chicken. One of the orders of the honey chicken was not delivered, but the owner made a fast delivery after I called to rectify the error. The delectable crab rangoons were made sweet, and with a bit of chives. My husband said the chicken fried rice was tasty, but it didn't seem to have much chicken in it. It definitely was not worth that much for the quality of food we received. The Pad Thai was bland and smelled/tasted old. The Beef and Broccoli was pretty good. We also ordered some appetizers like the steamed dumplings, pork egg rolls, and wonton soup. The appetizers were better than the main entree. The delivery guy was nice though. I am not sure how this place is in business, the worst food I've had in my life and most of it went down the disposal. Delivery was late. Wonton soup had a lard flavor to no flavor at all, that went first. The chicken lo mein noodles were mush, very little chicken and lard to no flavor at all. That went down the drain. Dumplings were ok but not hot. The only thing we salvaged to eat was half of the shrimp egg foo young. If I was eating in, I would have returned it all and left. No one should have to pay for food like this. It was the worst Chinese we have had in Tally, and that's pretty low because much of the Chinese food here is not that great. Ordered delivery to my job. I got pad Thai for myself and the general tso chicken combo for my boyfriend. The pad Thai lacked flavor and I ended up adding quite a bit of sriracha and soy sauce to enjoy it. My boyfriend says he enjoyed the chicken. I believe the Chinese portion of their menu is good based off of other reviews and I would just recommend avoiding getting anything from the Thai portion. No matter where you go there always seems to be a decent amount of Chinese take-out places to choose from and it's a trial and error process to determine which ones are good. I think I got lucky with Chopstix. Really good food at affordable prices make Chopstix my go-to take-out place in Tallahassee.
