This is our second time ordering delivery from China Garden. The first time was so delicious, we didn't foresee a problem with our second time. We were wrong. Our food took an hour and forty-five minutes to get to our home, which is only a ten minute drive from the restaurant. We called in multiple times trying to find out when they would be arriving and never got a definitive answer. On our last call, we were promised 10% off for the wait, which was frustrating because in the grand scheme of things, 10% is next to nothing. Once the food finally got here, we were extremely deflated to find it was bland and nothing like our first experience. Needless to say, I'm pretty sure this will be our last time ordering from this establishment. read more

Our delivery order was "missed" so it took over 2 hours to receive. Called the store and they issued 20% off and offered free 2-liter for next visit - the woman said she was calling the delivery driver right away to let them know. Delivery driver showed up and refused to call store for clarification & made me pay the entire bill. He received a call from the store as he was walking out but continued to get in his car and leave without bringing back the money. The chicken was also very overcooked to the point they were hard rocks. Have ordered from this location plenty of times with no issue (except delivery times have gotten longer and longer. i.e. used to be 15 minutes but now is usually 40) in the past but after this weeks' experience I doubt we will be returning due to the crap-ass service over something that could have easily been resolved. read more

3.5 stars. My favorite "american" style chinese takeout in Carmel. Thats not saying much, but worth noting. They have mobile and online ordering through cuisinemenu. able to pay with a card or cash even on delivery orders. ive had varied delivery experiences, but never a problem with takeout. Staff isnt great but its cheap lunch specials ($4.95) and ease of ordering makes up for that. The food is good, as i said best Chinese in Carmel. We always get a seaseme chicken, general tso chicken. then veggie rolls and crab rangoons. only disappointed once but we go about once or twice a month. read more

We have enjoyed China Garden take out for years, including on Christmas Eves. We had an experience a few months ago that was negative, however. The person taking/ringing up orders was not courteous. She also declined the chance to make up for an error on our order, suggesting that we mention it next visit. We will find a new Chinese restaurant. read more

4 stars for what it is. Good, hot, reasonable Chinese food DELIVERED to your door. You don't get some new taste sensation. What you do get is fried rice the way you most often have had it your whole life. The house special had generous pieces of chicken, shrimp, and pork. I got my go to for any new Chinese place, kung pao chicken. Made with chicken thighs, it was very good. I prefer white meat, but for the price I would get it again. Lots of veg and peanuts and not very spicy. No red peppers at all. My kids got the sweet and sour chicken and loved it. We had dinner and lunch the next day with what we got for 33.00. Definitely not worth the effort. Ordered for delivery at work with a few co-workers. Said it would be 30-40 minutes, was over an hour. Then when we got the food, missing part of the order and one entrée was wrong. When I called to let the restaurant know it was wrong, the woman who answered argued with me that it wasn't her mistake and asked if I actually expected her to have her driver return and bring the correct thing. Then she proceeds to text me a picture of the menu to tell me that I gave her the wrong number, even though I clearly said the full name of what I wanted. When I asked to speak to a manager or the owner she states that no one else but her is at the establishment. Finally she agrees to have her driver bring the correct item, however, now wants me to pay her driver to return to bring me the food. I oblige because at this point I'm 6 months pregnant and hungry so I don't really care. Then an hour and ten minutes later the driver brings the food, I return him the incorrect item as requested and pay him again, only to get back to my office an realize they didn't bring the whole order. Not even worth the argument at this point, over an eggroll. No one in my department is ordering from this place again. I understand mistakes happen, but the way it was handled was the turn off. Whoever they have answering the phones is rude and unprofessional, if you expect return customers treat them a little better. read more

The food tastes ok. I like that you can order delivery online and pay online. Even though you can order online they still manage to mess up your order. All 4 times i've ordered delivery I've gotten incorrect dishes. One more thing I don't really like - Sweet and sour pork/chicken they give you chunks of fried meat with sauce in a separate container. read more

Nothing fancy. Prices seemed reasonable. In my experience always very fast. I usually get the sweet-n-sour chicken takeout which is about par with other places. Typical of most places the are kinda stingy on the sauce. About half of what I need for the amount of chicken I get. read more

This restaurant has horrible customer service. I am a resident of Carmel Health and Living Center and in a wheel chair so unable to get out often, I called and asked the young lady that answered the phone if they deliver here she said YES. I placed my order with my complete address and Room number and waited for over an hour and half for my food. Finally I got a call from very rude delivery driver telling me there is no such room number here. Well I know there is since I live here. I ask him to wait and I would send security guard to door to help him find me. He just took off. before guard could get here. The lady that took my order then called and argued with me about address, when I tried to explain she hung up on me I was so looking forward to a nice dinner. VERY DISAPPOINTING !!!!! read more

Love their food. We always order over the phone for delivery. The guy who delivers it, I'm not sure if he's the owner, always has that ready smile and is very polite. Our order is always complete. The reason I'm giving them 5 stars aside from the food is because I had an issue before regarding one of my orders that I didn't wanna order from them anymore. But since I missed their food, I decided to order again and the lady on the other line remembered me and gave me complimentary soda (2-liter coke). I mean, I know it's not much but the fact that she remembered me and wanted to somehow compensate for what happened before means they care about their customers. :) Tip: If your order totals to $20+, you will get a free 2 liter soda of your choice ( depends on what's available). This is indicated on the back of their menu and they don't proactively offer it to you but you can always ask and they will give it to you! read more

When I placed our order over the phone a child took the order. No surprise... we then received the incorrect food. Called back to let them know. It took them an additional hour to deliver the correct food. Quality of food was ok. Service was terrible. Not sure if they are breaking child labor laws with the age of their staff. We went here on a Monday night and ordered our food to go. The food was delicious and the portions were good-sized. Make sure you check for the to go menu coupons as we got a free entree coupon. Our group of employees has ordered often from this resturant in the past due to their delivery services and prices. Today was a very unpleasant experience. When I called to place an order for myself and 4 of my co-workers, the woman that answered was rude and interruptive. She gave me the prices for the individual orders, they seemed high to me but the menu was not in front of me. After I got off the phone, one of my co-workers asked her total and when I told her she stated that was high. She called the resturant back and questioned the price. She quoted the price from them menu and was informed that we were looking at an old menu and prices had increased. We asked had they added a delivery charge? No, was the answer. A new menu was requested to be included with our order. After the order arrived, I looked at the "new" menu to compare prices. To my suprise, the prices were identical between both menus. Example of order: 2 vegtable egg rolls, priced at $1.10 each = $2.20 x 9% tax (quoted by woman at resturant) =$2.40. China Garden charged $3.12 for this order so a profit of $.72 made on just one order. We estimate an over charge of $6.70 was made on our orders. When I called back to China Garden and confronted her about the menu price she yelled at me and continued to tell me about cost resturants incurr and I informed her we would not be ordering from this place due to the LIES that she told.
