We ordered orange chicken and it didn't turn out the way we expected. I could see a few orange peels in the sauce but it was yellow and very bland... not what I've had elsewhere. The chicken fried rice was amazing though! It was ready in 15 minutes, which was nice too.

We decided to get some Chinese food at the last minute and found this place close by. We walked in and reviewed the menu and placed an order. They had plenty of seating where we could sit and wait. Seems like they do a lot of carry out. We did not have to wait long and they put our large order in a box to make it easy to carry out. Very kind staff and food was delicious. Will definitely be back. Plenty of parking in the lot!

Got take out over the weekend. The person taking the order over the phone was very short. When I went to pick it up, the person at the front barely acknowledged me and did not make me feel welcomed for ordering. I ordered the kung pao chicken, my girlfriend got the chicken broccoli and we got spring rolls for an appetizer. It was packaged nice and neat, and it looked tasty. However, the buck stops there. I was very disappointed with my kung pao chicken. Although it looked good, it had essentially no taste. I am not kidding -- it was so bland I legit thought I might have lost my sense of taste or smell and thats why I couldn't taste anything. But then I tried a bite of my girlfriends and hers did have more flavor. All in all, I picked at about a third of the food and threw the rest out. Since it had no flavor, I felt like I was eating greasy mush. The spring rolls were not much better, they had a processed, plastic taste. My girlfriend wouldn't even try one. I had half of one and we threw the rest out. Needless to say, this was the worst Chinese food I have ever tried, and unfortunately we threw out much more than we ate. Given that this place is overall rated at 4 stars, maybe it was just my dish, or maybe they just had a bad night?

Okay I had a little bit of mixed feelings but considering that we went in at an odd time (4pm) to have late lunch I think the place was super empty (of course). Therefore it was very quiet but calm ambiance. The food was good! For the quality and quantity I didn't have anything to complain about. Service and the owners of the business were nice and took care of us quickly!

Half order of warm smoked duck

I have seen this restaurant as I passed it several times but thought it had spicy food. When I came across this recommendation from a Yelp email, I remembered to research their menu. They have unique Asian dishes I wanted to try on Christmas day. I called in my order; when confirming the cost, I was informed that their prices have increased due to inflation. I decided to go ahead and try the half-sized smoked duck for $15.99; I passed on the $11.99 baby choy and shiitake mushrooms. I did not care for the smoked scent, but the duck was deliciously smoked in flavor. I was told that the duck would be warm and not hot. I took my order home and then realized that the hotness I felt was from the unexpected side container of white rice; I bought the duck to go with my mix of jasmine brown and white rice steaming as I went to buy my takeout duck. I wish the duck was hot because it tastes oddly with hot rice. My entree came with a fortune cookie. After eating and doing some more research, it appears that their current menu is best advertised on their direct online webpage.

This was our first time eating at Sichuan. We were looking for a new restaurant to try and decided to check out this little gem. We ordered online and picked up the food 20 minutes later. The food had great flavor and we all really enjoyed the quality and portion sizes of our meals.

    Cucumbers minus the chili oil

Not disappointed at all. Very extensive menu, lots of variety in styles. Everything we got was delicious! Very authentic dishes along with the Americaized favorites. Can't wait to try more. We got take out & it was ready when we got there to pick it up. We got Mao's braised pork belly, it was delicious, rich, savory, spicy, sweet, & fragrant. House Egg foo young with brown sauce; lots of meat. Lo Mein was really tasty. We also got the cucumbers in garlic & spicy chili oil but mistakenly asked for it mild so they just left the chili oil off so they were a little bland but that was our fault. Their menu is huge with a variety of styles of cooking & dishes ranging from authentic to good old Americanized standards.

I felt really bad about calling in an order on the phone because it was 9:30, their online ordering system had shut off for the night, and I hate being "that guy" who orders something at the last minute. But I had a really long, busy last 30 minutes at work and was looking forward to Sichuan all day So I placed my order (dan dan noodles, lamb on toothpicks, and beef and broccoli for the girlfriend) and it was ready quick, hot, and fresh. After you start coming here a few times, you get more of a personal touch at the cash register. When I walked in to pick up my order at 9:45, the staff were all sitting down and eating dinner. A man who I presume to be the chef got up to cash me out, but the woman who usually is at the register insisted on taking my order instead. We exchanged pleasantries and I was on my way. Pro-tip: Take the lamb off the toothpicks, throw it in with your dan dan noodles, and put some rice in there too. You're welcome.

If you are looking for traditional Chinese in the Indianapolis area, you should definitely check out Sichuan! Sichuan has both a traditional Chinese menu and a more typical American Chinese menu and you can mix and match your order. I order takeout from here regularly, but the best thing about this place is the lunch buffet! On the weekends they have a traditional Chinese buffet! It is wonderful! They have a selection of cold noodle dishes, steamed buns, egg rolls, noodles, rice, soups, meats, and my favorite sesame balls with red bean paste filling! I love the lunch buffet because I am able to sample many things without ordering a ton of food. The cost of the buffet is $13! The staff is super nice and welcoming! I go often enough that I am likely a familiar face. It is very common to see large groups/families that are Chinese and they talk with the staff in Mandarin. They have private 1 stall restrooms for both men and women.

Same owners and staff just a new location. The old dive got a new set of cloths. The interior is stylish and great looking. The lunch buffet is now $8.71. The cold selections seems smaller. All the other hot dishes are the same as before with maybe one new one. The two menus are now combined into one with the best stuff in the back. They added some new dishes. I'm so happy one of my favorite places with some of the best servers is back open. I'd like to know why my review is not recommend. This makes no sense.

Yes, although their lunch buffet on the weekends is more of a traditional Chinese variety than what they serve on the weekdays.

My recommendation is to order regular entrees for dinner though. Not sure if it's a different chef or manager during those times but this was my husband's consensus as well. We both have ordered takeout here countless times but decided not to return for the buffet. We like our food hot and fresh and will pay the premium for that in the future. They didn't have palak paneer or paneer tikka masala for brunch either which are what I typically eat.

We sat at a high top table in the bar. Our server, Bailey (the bartender), was friendly and super attentive. She made recommendations and kept glasses filled. The craft beer selection is excellent with about 16 local options on tap. My husband had a Fall City "Hipster Repellent". The name alone is interesting, but he loved his beer. I had the Espresso Martini which came with roasted coffee beans floating on top. My cocktail went down easy. I also had a glass of the Berringer Chardonnay. The pour is generous. We shared a plate of Loaded Tots, which was wonderful. The tots are made from scratch in-house and covered with roasted bits of pork belly, cheese, a sauce and green onions. We LOVED the tots, which came out super hot. We also shared a plate of the Loaded Hummus. The plate is beautiful and colorful. The hummus is fresh made and loaded with bits of tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and is delicious on a balsamic reduction. The hummus is served with a generous portion of fresh in-house made focaccia bread which tasted amazing. The Loaded Hummus is a winner in my book. Bailey our server was fabulous. I saw a TikTok about the Farmhouse restaurant breakfast buffet and immediately ran to DH. We haven't had a good place to go to since The Garrison in Ft Benjamin Harrison shut down so I was excited to see this place had a breakfast buffet. If COVID taught me anything, it's to call first to make sure the information and times are correct. I called on Friday August 21st to verify that the buffet is Saturdays and they open at 8 AM. I was informed that the information was correct. On Saturday morning, we woke up early and drove 26 miles to be there at 8 AM. At a few minutes after 8 we walked to the restaurant. There was no one in sight working. I couldn't see a cook or cashier. I did see the completely bare buffet table though. I thought, okay, it's early...we'll walk around the store and check things out for a few and come back. We came back at 8:15 and the buffet was still bare. This time there were two women talking near the kitchen so I went over and waited. When they were finished talking I asked when the buffet would be done. One lady asked the other who was walking away and going over to the buffet table and maybe turn it on? She was visibly annoyed to be answering that question. I couldn't hear what she was saying because of the noise of the grocery store but it took her like 2 minutes to answer the first woman and she relayed that it would be like another 30 minutes. The reason given was "due to the flooding". The restaurant is miles away from River Road but I didn't know what flooding she might be talking about so I thanked her and went on our merry way. After leaving the building we discussed that we might as well wait since we drove to Carmel for the breakfast buffet. So after driving around going nowhere particular since nothing is open at 8:15 we swung back around to The Farmhouse and lo and behold, the breakfast buffet table was still empty 50 minutes after the restaurant opened. Once again, there was no employee in sight. I took the video at that time. The only items out were for salads. Terrible restaurant. Very disappointed in how things were handled, the lack of service and no actual breakfast buffet. We will not try to come back here.

Since we had plenty of time to read the menus we put in drinks (Rosy Cheek & Old Fashioned) and an app (zucchini fries) as well as our entrees (salmon and pork belly, both with the wedge) The drinks were good! The old fashioned was slightly smaller than I'd want for $15 but it's Westfield. The zucchini fries were ok, the breading lacked flavor and we were charged $1 for an extra 1/2 ounce of aioli. The salmon had a spicier seasoning on it than we expected, but the orzo didn't have much? The pork belly was good, maybe a little more sauce than you'd expect but the sticky rice helped get most of it sopped up. In the end, it's not somewhere we'll come back.
