That said, if you're not big on seafood (like me), you'll still find some solid American options. Many Asian buffets tend to limit those choices to basics like pizza and chicken tenders, but Buffet City goes a bit further. I was pleasantly surprised to see pot roast, mashed and roasted potatoes, and even fried chicken. They also have soups, salads, and a dessert selection that's actually pretty good. Come prepared--this is definitely an "elastic waistband" kind of place because you're going to want to eat your money's worth. The restaurant is surprisingly clean and well-kept, and the food stays fresh. The hibachi station has a great selection, and the chef is quick and thorough. Service is decent. Staff come around to refill drinks and clear plates regularly--but be warned, if you're not finished, guard your plate like it's gold. Same goes for your utensils--leave them on a plate, and they're gone. We came on the weekend and apparently they provide extra seafood options on the weekends. I did not load up my plate(s) like a glutton, but I did pick up a few extras (of my favorites) on my return trip to the counters. I had a tasting of a few of the standard dishes, such as the beef & broccoli, and they were good to go. I did NOT waste valuable space in my stomach on the sushi offerings, as I was not even tempted to try any (albeit they LOOKED tasty) due to previous tastings at Chinese buffets that always turned out sushi that was subpar (tainted mind I suppose). My better half, who is not fond of Chinese buffets to begin with and I had to coerce into trying it out, told me just this morning how much she enjoyed her food and the service here; causing me to get on the computer and leave this review. I was surprised that they didn't offer a lunch menu, and I found the prices to be quite high, but I decided to give them a chance, hoping the quality and portion sizes would justify the cost. Shortly after placing the order, I received a call from the restaurant regarding an issue they had been experiencing with their website. Since I had the employee on the phone, I asked if they could please include three plates, as we planned to share the food. I was told they didn't carry plates. When I arrived to pick up my order, I was greeted with, "How can I help you?" I explained that I was there for a pickup order. The employee handed me the bag and immediately started to walk away. I stopped her to ask again if there was any way to get plates. She appeared annoyed and told me they didn't have any, but she could give me some forks. Apparently, they don't automatically include utensils with to-go orders unless you specifically ask for them. Unfortunately, the service issues were only the beginning. To our disappointment, the food was awful. Every dish was bland, lacked flavor, and the beef in the Pad Thai didn't even look like beef (see picture). In the end, we spent nearly $60 on three entrées and an order of spring rolls. The photo on the website shows six spring rolls, but our order contained only three. The portions were small, the food was underwhelming, and we were left both hungry and disappointed. I understand that every restaurant can have an off day, but between the poor service, misleading photos, high prices, and disappointing food, this is not a place I can recommend or see myself visiting again.

The shrimp stir fry was another dish with excessive amounts of onions and minimal other veggies. It should have called onion stir fry. I ordered Thai ice tea and hubby Thai beer. Drunken noodles had chicken which was dry. Street parking. Ambiance - okay. Overall, food and experience fell short up to our expectations.
