Went here for the first time since Bo Fung closed. The food was hot and ready in 10 minutes. We got the general tsos chicken and pork lo mien. We enjoyed it all, it definitely scratched that "cheap Chinese food" itch. I appreciated that the veggies included were lightly steamed so they still had some crunch. I will say though, I don't like the breading/fry method they use for the chicken. Where Bo Fung's chicken felt more like boneless wings (big chunks of meat with some light breading) this had more of a beer batter style fry and the chicken pieces inside were smaller than at Bo Fung. read more

I'm writing this even before my mouth cools off from my China Garden delivery. This wasn't the first time ordering from CG and it certainly will not be the last. I find their food extremely good. I find it a step above every other chinese food place that has entirely the same menu as the place down on the corner and down the street. This time around I got sweet & sour chicken, braised pork, and of course the dinner combination comes with chicken fried rice and I chose the egg rolls. The S&S chicken is what it should be! Balls of chicken, battered with S&S sauce on the side. None of this chicken stuff already tossed in the sauce so that when it gets to you it's just gloppy and gross. Five stars for the S&S chicken. The braised pork was the first time I'd ordered it. I was extremely surprised. I thought it would be chunks of pork, wok cooked or something. But it's little balls of pork, battered and tossed in sauce. Now, if you'll notice from the previous paragraph you'll notice I don't like that too much with the chicken. Well this was totally different and worked well. If you like a bit of spicy this is the way to go. Just enough of a bite. Five stars for the braised pork The egg rolls are good, not slimy, they made the delivery trip well. I was not disappointed and never have been. Four stars for the egg rolls. The chicken fried rice they have as a side is amazing. That's a meal in and of itself. It doesn't taste bland at all, it tastes like what chicken fried rice should taste like. This is our go-to spot for takeout Chinese in the neighborhood, and it's definitely my favorite. The food isn't overly greasy, and I've always been happy with my picks--like the broccoli and beef, chicken chop suey, hot & sour soup, happy family, and wings. The owners are incredibly kind, and they usually let you grab a soda or two from the fridge when you pay, which is a nice little bonus. We keep coming back here for a reason. read more

This small spot is easy to miss. Don't. It's next to a small Papa John's pizza spot and across the street from QuikTrip. Six tables serve inside diners, though I suspect this place does mostly take-out business. It seemed like that while I waited for my to-go meal. There's a lengthy list of meal specials, which include entrees, fried rice, and choice of appetizer. The shrimp and veggies were a good choice though the fried rice was heavy on salty soy sauce. However, there was no skimping on shrimp or veggies. There's plenty on the menu for meat, fowl, or seafood tastes--and probably enough choices for veggie-only diners. We usually order from Bo Fung but my mom heard good things about China Garden so we gave it a try. We called in 3 entrees for pick up and we're told it would be ready in 25 minutes. Beef and broccoli was delicious! Beef was tender and well cooked, not chewy. My mom ordered one of the items from the diet menu, which came with steamed veggies and meat with sauce on the side. Portions were generous! I'll be back to try it again soon. read more

I'm not sure what happened to this place but our last order was terrible. First the prices are was too high for what you get. Second while the food was delivered quickly and hot, it was mushy (chicken fried rice and special fried rice) there was very little chicken or shrimp in the orders. Keeping those two comments in mind you can get much better food delivered for much less in cost. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

But I've been trying to find a decent Chinese place that I could get delivery to my house by Tower Grove Park for a long time and have not been having a lot of luck. Nothing has been better than fair. I gave this place a 4 since this is the best I found so far and I thought it was pretty decent. And I'm very picky about Chinese food. We got the delivery service from Door Dash. The menu had a lot of options, and the prices were very good for the generous portions we got. Value for the money was very good. We have paid a lot more at other places for food that was not as good. Even though there were only 2 of us - we got 4 dinners since the prices were so reasonable. It gave us a chance to try things. And left overs are always good. The egg roll had good flavor - but was a little on the greasy side. The Pork fried rice I thought was very good and had a nice flavor and better than a lot of other places. The fried rice in most places are bland. For entrees we got the General Tso's Chicken, Orange Beef, Chicken with Garlic Sauce, and Moo Goo Gai Pan. The sauce on all of them were very tasty. The Orange Beef was good and the meat was tender - definitely better than what I've had from other places around I've tried. If it had some pieces of Orange peel and a little more Orange flavor it would have been perfect. And as an extra treat they gave us a bag of hot fried donuts. Which was really nice of them. My go-to chinese place. They are quick, the food is always SUPER hot, and appetizers crunchy as they should be. I usually pick it up, and it's ready in about 15 minutes, delivery can be a little hit and miss. The inside has a few tables if you'd like to eat in, but mostly a to-go place I'd say. The spring rolls are the best I've had at any other chinese place, and I love their General Tso's Chicken. The only so-so dish I've had so far is the lo mein. read more

This place is a total rip off and the people that own it are crooks. firstly, the menu says one price and they arbitrarily raised my order price on each item no less than $2.50. When I inquired she said it was , "too expensive to order new menu" ...That's a crock! I informed her of what she already knows to be true, printing a menu as a cost of doing business and dammit it's tax deductible. We're talking about inc and paper here.If a business can just arbitrarily charge you what they want when the menu says something different that is highway robbery. Save your money not only is this place dumpy, but they are DISHONEST! Personally, this is one business I'd like to see fail. read more

So my girlfriend had a random food delivery dropped off from this restaurant, already paid for. Thinking I sent it to her she opened it and quickly determined that this was not something I would have ordered for her. We determined that they must have took down the wrong address and we wanted to let them know. Rather than say, "OK thank you for letting us know, we'll let the customer know" they said "We'll have our driver come back and pick up the food." Like they have no problems giving these people cold food that spent 20 minutes at some random strangers house doing who know's what to it? I just wanted to warn my fellow Yelp folks that upon my second visit, I was a bit disappointed with the product. Again, I had the Pork Fried Rice and AGAIN they were out of bean sprouts. Also, they used diced white onion rather than green onion. Usually, there is a combination or very minimal amount of white onion. This time, the dish was loaded with white onion. This place got such good reviews, and it's close to my home, so I tried it last week. It was disappointing, but I do see potential if these folks can learn to give a proper amount of food and not play with taking out main ingredients. I love hot and sour soup, however, their were no bean sprouts or pork. It was bland, not even "hot" and lacked spice. There were only 1 or 2 very small mushrooms. I will never order fried rice here again. The beef fried rice, again no bean sprouts, no egg, and very thin strips of meat in with the rice. Again lacking taste and the normal ingredients one would expect from this dish. We also ordered crab rag goon which was very good but all the tops were burned so it crumbled in your mouth. When we got home and unwrapped everything I couldn't believe the beautiful carry out containers they had the food in. The one for the soup was so lovely and strong I cleaned it in my dishwasher so I could keep and save for my house. My suggestion for the family would be to put in the foods required to make the dish and go to normal containers, I would think you'd be better off and still save some dough. 2.5 for the food review and 3.5 for the friendly family at the cash register. read more

My husband and I visited on 8/3/19. We were actually trying to go to a different Chinese restaurant but accidentally ended up here. It was a great accident, because we ended up loving the food! They have a ton of options to choose from. I ordered the garlic shrimp dinner, and it came with a side of rice and 2 crab rangoon. Everything is very affordable here, and the portions were huge! I picked up some carry out today, I ordered several small orders to see how several things were. The pork egg foo young was very good but the gravy was thin and flavorless. The egg roll was average and not very crispy, The shrimp fried rice had 3 small shrimp on the top but no more in the rice and the amount of soy sauce was very high. The shrimp with snow peas was the same as I find at many other Chinese restaurants. It is shrimp, a few snow peas, loads of carrots and water chestnuts, bok choy and onions. Why can't shrimp with snow peas be just what it says??? I don't want all that extra crap and snow peas are not that expensive. This is someplace I might go if I was really drunk and in need of a quick meal but not recommended. read more

Much to my surprise the chicken was hot and fresh and the pork fried rice had great flavor! I'm going to start off this review by saying that the food we DID get was good. But based off of the customer service alone, I would never return or recommend this restaurant. My group placed a fairly large order, picked it up, and brought it home to eat. While unpacking our food, we realized we were missing two orders of the crab rangoon and one dinner was filled with another dish of some sort. While the writing on the lid matched the order, the dish was filled with pork while the one ordered specifically was beef. Alright, not a HUGE deal. Made the drive back after attempting to call multiple times, but couldn't speak to anyone as the line was busy. I politely asked for the two crab rangoons and entree. I was told that she (the woman working the counter) packed the meal herself and it was correct. I explained the situation AGAIN and was told that I was wrong and that all of my food was in the bag. She told me if I brought all of the food I received, she would refund me for the crab rangoon and the wrong order. I explained that I wasn't driving up for now a THIRD time to get $8 worth of crab rangoon back when I paid for $70 worth of food. She basically refused to help me until I told her that I would just cancel the entire charge on my card as her restaurant wasn't giving me what I paid for. Then she started offering me the food that I paid for that wasn't received, which is all I asked for in the first place. At this point, I was done and didn't even want the food anymore and left. Extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable transaction overall when I was missing about $17 worth of my $70 order.
