I just recently moved to North Scituate and don't really know of anywhere in the area, this place had some pretty good ratings so this was the first Chinese I decided to try in the area. My honest review? It's good but kind of reminds me of the mall food feel. The crab Rangoon was great, but I was a little bit disappointed they gave me sweet-and-sour sauce instead of duck sauce. Not the same. They gave me a huge container of it, but then for the fried dumplings they only gave me a very small container not enough for more than one person to share. Lo mein was decent but not a ton of flavor. I would definitely order from them again, but would make sure to specifically ask for duck sauce with my crab Rangoon and extra sauce for the fried dumplings. read more

The food is always cooked perfectly, the employees are always happy and nice, and the food is always on time if not ready early. Back on March 26, 2024 I placed an online order unaware that the restaurant was closed as I received all the confirmation emails on what time to pick up my order. We are now at April 11 and I have yet to receive my refund. I had to contact my bank regards of getting a refund by filing a complaint. the restaurant is stating they refunded my money to the third-party company that they use for their online services. That company is refusing to refund the money to me now. Definitely beware when ordering. Even with the restaurant closed, they continue to take on line orders. read more

This place is ok. The food is pretty tasteless in my opinion. The reason for the higher rating is more so for the ease of ordering, I was able to order online and select the time of pickup for after work. The food was ready on time and stayed hot through my 30 minute drive home. They have done a great job setting the restaurant up for safety during the pandemic and you really never come into contact with any employees with the way it's set up. If you like your chicken wings crispy with a hint of cinnamon/brown sugar taste-try thier...Sticky wings! However I didn't order that bc I wanted fried rice and only had enough for a combo so I ordered the A8. It was very tasty and I like the effort they put in the presentation of thier food too. It came with General tso that was soft and sweet, crispy chicken wings (the Gal threw in some sticky sauce on the side for me bc I mentioned about the wings I had from the coworker so that showed how attentive she was!), crab Rangoon's that was sweet and pork fried rice that had the right amount of veggies and pork in it. Great food, service and convenience. They are very accommodating with ingredients. Most of the tofu dishes, shrimp and beef dishes are steamed, not stir fried, so hats off to them for offering the option of healthier fare. To add to this, you can choose to have your tofu steamed or fried, your choice. My mother enjoys their hot sour soup, and I love their vegetarian options of veggie and tofu dishes. Truly impressed that Scituate can actually harbor an awesome Chinese restaurant. My family and I always went to China Jade, but I wanted to check out a new place. Chow Mei Fun--awesome, and a HUGE portion. This place is all about huge portions. I can probably eat some Chow Mei Fun for 4 days now. My parents went with their regular General Tso's chicken, and I couldn't complain. Downside--their Beef Teriyaki had *very much* to improve on. It was fatty and almost undercooked, and not worth the 7$ for 4 tiny pieces. That being said, when I'm hankering for some Chinese with my folks, this will be my stop. China Garden has to be my family and I's favorite Chinese restaurant. The restaurant itself is clean, organized, and has appropriate safety measures in place in light of the pandemic. Employees are always friendly, and our order is usually ready for pick up in less than half an hour. The prices are also great for the portions you receive. Just ordered from this place for the first time. The food was okay in a pinch. The fried rice and egg roll was pretty good. But the General Tao chicken tasted more like orange chicken that they tried to pass off as General. The Chicken teriyaki was our least favorite. It was way overcooked, dry and chewy. The Chinese food here is seriously the best around - even of everything in Johnston and Smithfield. Their crab rangoons and spring rolls are always a hit, and their general tso's tofu is absolutely incredible. Even if you're not a fan of tofu, you will LOVE their general tso's tofu. It is well-pressed and crispy, and the sauce is to die for. They have plenty of options for vegans, vegetarians, and meat-eaters alike, and they have a great gluten-free menu. I ordered egg drop soup. it was very good. what impressed me was how clean the was, how pleasant the girl at the counter was ...and it may seem silly but they gave a complementary bag of chow mein noodles for my soup. they had a bin of sauces and fortune cookies free for taking. not like Red Ginger or China Jade, both in Johnston, where when you ask they yes, .50 cents .. and you have to buy a chow mein sized bag, or charge for extra cookies. China Garden makes some of the best Chinese dishes in the State. The food is always fresh, hot, plenty of it for the price. The staff is courteous, the place is very clean and the service is fast. Known mostly for take out there a few small tables if you want to eat in. You HAVE to try the House Special Fried Rice, Rangoons, Wings, Won Ton & Hot & Sour soups and everything else on the menu. Can't speak for the food since I never got it. I ordered some food for me and my family and they told me 30-45 minutes. After an hour and some change I called to check the status of my order. They were a bit rude and said the driver had 2 deliveries and he was out with my order. After more than two hours of waiting I called and canceled my order. I will not order from them again. I really like this chinese place for take-out! I think it's the best in this general area, keeping in mind it's more of a take-out place. There are a few tables set-up on the side though. The people who take the orders on the phone are clear and very understandable. You can also order and pay online, which is a plus! The staff there are always very pleasant and the food is good. The takeout containers are different than some traditional places (not the white boxes), but are very sturdy, and I like better. The homemade sauces are great too. Service is always quick too. Ordered from here with some frequency over the summer while staying at a nearby campground (it's just a little far from our home over the line into Conn.). Excellent food! Prepared quickly. Not quite as heavily flavored as some Chinese food, so some might think it a bit on the bland side, but suits my taste. Prices good. But be warned, RI effin SOAKS you on meal taxes now. Good location, the address reads Village Plaza, but this is right on Rt. 6 at the Danielson Pike junction. It is inside a shopping plaza with tons of parking, and if you're so inclined there is a grocery store right there too, so you can order your Chinese then go to the IGA and get a couple bottles of soda cheaper than at China Garden and maybe some supplemental sides too! No delivery. No table service. I think you're allowed to eat in, but you still get it in takeout bags, I don;t think it's encouraged. One last big plus, your condiments and fortune cookies are out for the taking by the door, I appreciate that as you don;t have to ask for them, I usually need a LOT of mustard! Also some local free newspapers set out for reading while you wait and can take along if you like. definitely a winner. read more
