Was recommended to come here after the Yelp Elite event at Magnolia Soap and Bath nearby! It's located in a strip mall so there is plenty of parking, and their lot is separated by a median with one exit/ entrance. They served wonton chips with duck sauce, like chips and salsa. What a nice touch! I have never seen that before at an Asian restaurant. Here's the updated version with the ambience included: We tried New Asia House for the first time and were really impressed. We ordered a California roll, the Tuna Thunder roll, Shanghai dumplings, orange chicken with pork fried rice, egg drop soup, and pepper steak with onions with white rice. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked really well. The portions were huge for the price, which was a pleasant surprise. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself has a great vibe -- very clean, neatly decorated, and the little waterfall feature added such a calming touch. It made the whole meal feel extra relaxing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The only downside was the orange chicken -- it had actual orange peels in it, and they were burnt, which threw the flavor off. Went here on a Friday night walked in and there was only 1 other table there. Staff was friendly, service was good but that's where it ended. I ordered the chicken pad Thai and my friend had sushi. We ordered nime chow as an appetizer it was awful the rice was over cooked and the peanut sauce was super chunky. The sushi roll again had overcooked rice it fell apart just picking it up. Pad Thai was not a typical pad Thai and the noodles were overcooked and the sauce was not peanut sauce. This was my first time ordering from new Asia house. I ordered the chicken fried rice. It was packed with flavor, not overcooked, but it did leave a slight burnt after taste. If I had to guess it was made earlier and just warmed up before going out. I ordered chicken lo mein. This was absolutely fantastic, it was the right consistency. It was packed with juicy flavors. Everything was cooked evenly and when I had received it, it was steaming hot. Lastly, I had ordered the dumplings the fried dumplings and whatever is inside these dumplings is unbelievably fresh, there were some kind of vegetable in with the meat and it was insanely fresh. I don't know if I had ever had such a fresh dumpling! The dumpling sauce on the other hand was a bit overpowering on the salt aspect. I believe it has soy sauce in it. It was just a little too much soy sauce for my liking, but a very light sauce. Overall, I loved my meal and I ordered from DoorDash and everything was still steaming besides the rice. They gave me a new order.They did not apologize for their mistake. When I got home, I saw that they had swapped out chicken fingers for the eggrolls I ordered. Also, I ordered Szechuan food and there was no Szechuan spice in the food. There are better Asian restaurants in West Warwick RI. Things the restaurant can improve : 1) double check your orders when you pack them. I should not have to do that for you. I had been there before and didn't care for it, but we were hungry and it had been 5 years, so we went in. It is clean spacious , and the hostess welcoming, and we were promptly seated. It was noon on a weekday, but there were only 2 other parties in there. We ordered - I got Ha Gao ( shrimp dumplings) (5pcs) $6.75 and Siu Mai (5pcs) $6.75. The shrimp dumplings were not good. The rice dough was too thick and the shrimp paste was dry. The Siu Mai was a bit better, but tasted a bit weird. Not sure what was it that made it taste that way. Just not good. My friend got Nime Chow (vegetable) $5.75 and Wonton Soup-(sm) 4.75. She said the nime show was tasteless and the wonton soup was just ok. Staying in Rhode Island for the long weekend, exploring the different corners of Northeast corridor, and we narrowed down our choices to New Asia House. We ordered some dimsums, fried rice, crispy pork chop and chicken chopsuey. Green tea and ginger ale for the drinks. Everything we ordered are good except their version of soup dumpling (xiaolongbao) and chopsuey is different from what I am used to. The dumpling has similar shape outside but it is full of meat and almost no soup inside. The chicken chopsuey is serve with bean sprouts and onions. I am no expert to Chinese cuisine and I am not sure what specific region this dish prep is. Nonetheless, everything taste good. I love their crispy pork chop and their very good prep of general tso. My daughter gave it two thumbs up and commented it really taste good. Overall, I highly recommend this place for your Asian cuisine craving. I ordered the sushi and sashimi combo, which came with six pieces of sashimi, six sushi and a spicy tuna roll. It was served on a large plate, nicely arranged. I understand businesses working with limited staff. I understand miscommunication. But this whole visit was horrible. 4 guests in our party. We were rushed to give our order as we sat down. We all ordered hibachi (2 shrimp and 2 steak). We were given the choice of white or brown rice. Not fried rice, white rice, or brown rice. Just white or brown. We all choose white because that's what is normally in fried rice.. We all ordered extra noodles with our meals. They finally came back to get our drink order: Root beer, Shirley Temple, Lucky Buddha beer, and an unsweet tea. What we got was a Shirley temple, sprite, lucky Buddha, and they couldn't remember what the other drink was. Reminded them that it was an unsweet tea. A water showed up. When the salads came out the lettuce was dirty and wilted. So now the chef comes out. Doesn't know what he's doing. Served raw vegetables, didn't bring rice & noodles for the customers, cooked the steak mixed with the seafood instead of separating and cooking like your supposed to do so people don't get sick... then the waitress started yelling at everyone! Two different groups who didn't know each other at our table and we're all being yelled at because he doesn't know what he's doing and the staff is rude! They then served the steak raw. It was ok. My friend and I decided to try this place on a Friday afternoon at lunch time. We ordered dim sum, sushi, and pad thai. The dim sum we ordered included; har gao, eggplant with shrimp, spare ribs, steamed duck feet, chou zhou, and shumai. The har gao, shumai, and duck feet were definitely favorites of mine. All of the dishes we tried were fresh and tasty. I would definitely come back just for the dim sum. The sushi and pad thai on the other hand.. wasn't that great. I ordered the spicy shrimp roll which included spicy mayo. The rice was really hard and did not taste fresh. My friend ordered pad thai and she did not enjoy it at all. It was bland and not flavorful at all. The service was fine but I felt like the decor of the restaurant was quite dark. The (har gao) shrimp dumpling was not very flavorful nor very delicate as it should be. The siu mai (pork dumpling) was a bit better. It had a nice filling but the meat was not the best tasting pork filling I've had.
