I haven't dined in at Mai Thai, but I usually get it for takeout since I work in the area. They have a pretty good selection of dishes - especially the noodle dishes and Chef specialties. I usually get the Drunken Noodles with wide rice noodles, extra bamboo, & tofu with the hot and spicy flavor. The Drunken Noodles are so delicious and flavorful. Good portion for takeout. This is such a hidden gem. My friend raves about this place so we went there for dinner. The two ladies that own it are super sweet and attentive. Very disappointed with my most recent experience here. Came in today and ordered the teriyaki beef entree and was given the wrong entree at first, which was fine and not a problem. However, when they did bring out the correct entree, it had about seven little pieces of beef in it. Since I paid $20 for the entree, I would've thought there would be more than just seven pieces of beef and huge chunks of brocoli that should've been cut in half. Both my partner and I were raised in Thailand so we have discerning palates (not bragging...just explaining!) and can identify high-quality ingredients recognizing when a dish captures authentic flavors or when it's crafted with skill and creativity. I have been getting take out from here for many years and have yet to be disappointed. They have online ordering which is super convenient and the staff is always friendly when I pick it up. I love the chicken satay, spring rolls, and pad Thai and my wife loves the lo mein and pineapple fried rice. It always tastes fresh and is cooked perfectly. It's never been greasy or tasted like it's been hanging around and just reheated prior to serving. We've gotten a range of different dishes and they've always been great. Great Thai cuisine for everyone. The staff here does a great job to create authentic Thai dishes with good service. I've had the drunken noodles, chicken madness, basil tofu/eggplant, and tropical chicken. All the dishes I have tried did not disappoint and they all had a nice spice kick. I moved from LA and have eaten in Thai town so I have high expectations when it comes to Thai food. Mai Thai is definitely one of the best Thai restaurants. The owner is also nice and does her best to ensure everyone is enjoying the food. She will come out and talk to the customers. Mai Thai is easily my favorite Thai restaurant in the state. Just about everything I've had has been absolutely delicious, the staff is so friendly and kind, and the space is welcoming and clean. For starters, the chicken satay is so tender and juicy. It practically falls right off the skewer. My other go-to app is the steamed Thai dumplings which are filled with minced chicken and mushrooms - so flavorful! I admit I'm pretty boring and I tend to go with the Pad Thai almost every time but it's always so flavorful and perfectly cooked. I love how it comes with chicken, shrimp, and tofu. (Why pick one protein when you can have all three?) Pro tip: when you can, opt for dine-in. While this is no fault of the restaurant, when you choose takeout, the dish can sometimes steam itself in the container which can make the whole thing a little more watery. While I love the takeout version, I'm always blown away by how fantastic it is when I dine-in. My other favorite dishes are the drunken noodles (so spicy and satisfying), the massaman curry (lots of yummy peanut flavor), and the brown soy noodle (a savory flavor bomb). We ordered a $22 mai tai bowl. It was awful, undrinkable and sickly sweet. When after 2 sips we asked if it was made correctly, we were told yes. Told server, doesn't taste right. Response "that's how we make them". It sat untouched minus 2 sips. An offer to make something different would have gone a long way. Service is very slow and impersonal but kitchen is fast. We waited for menus and check. Drunken noodle is nothing like any drunken noodle ever eaten in over 15 Thai restaurants in every NE state. I feel that Asian cuisine is more objective than most others because it varies so much from place to place whether it an Asian Fusion or Vietnamese, or Cantonese style, each place has it's own twist on how to make what we may refer to as staple items. Mai Thai Cuisine has a good assortment of dishes without being overwhelming which also leads me to believe that they are able to maintain fresher product to be able to serve their guests. My wife and I eat there often and have been stuck on the same dish with some slight variations from time to time! We are lovers of Teriyaki and their beef and chicken teriyaki dish served with broccoli and carrots is excellent. The won ton soup is also very good - a bit heavy on the bean sprout content, but a really good broth and the won tons are really good. The key to success for this place is not only very tasty food but an excellent and attentive staff. They are one of the most cohesive groups that I have ever seen and they work together famously. The staff is their true treasure! Neither of them introduced themselves or said anything about changing. We ordered the beef teriyaki and crab rangoon. My husband enjoyed the beef, the crab rangoon was the worse I ever had. it was hard inside and almost tasted like it wasn't cooked.  Our entrees were good. First time take out on NYE! We called to place an order at 6 and the wait was only an hour for pick up. They even had a sign on the door recommending customers place their NYE ordered 24-48 hours before!! I ordered the Thai basil chicken(comes with rice)and my husband ordered the Drunken noodles. I like my Thai basil to have sauce to soak up the rice. This kind was on the dryer side, I'm not sure if it was because of the takeout? My husband's drunken noodles were really good...excellent flavor and they catered to his shellfish allergy. We tried the spicy Thai balls and the spring rolls. The Thai balls are really dense (I mean it's fried rice and cheese lol) they do have good flavor and you can taste the lemongrass. The Thai rolls are your standard fried rolls.
