Located near Publix on the waterside (not to be confused with the Fleming Street location), it's easily the best Chinese restaurant I've experienced. Who knew Key West had such a hidden gem? From the moment you walk in, the fresh, inviting aroma sets the tone, paired with a spotless, welcoming dining area. The service is top notch, provided by professional, knowledgeable staff, and the whiteboard in the dining room features daily specials. The "Happy Family" was outstanding, expertly prepared, full of flavor, and made with incredibly fresh ingredients. You can tell they use high-quality oil, and the generous portions and consistent quality impressed me throughout. We sampled a variety of appetizers, all delicious. The homemade wontons were a standout both fried and steamed were great, though the steamed were my favorite. The beverage selection is excellent. With its immaculate setting, fresh ingredients, attentive service, and consistent excellence, this place blends comfort and sophistication beautifully. Decent if you are hungry and need food in a pinch. I ordered the wonton soup, chicken in garlic sauce, and pork fried rice. The chicken was delicious as it had water chestnuts and mushrooms along with a delicious semi sweet sauce. The wonton soup was average. The pork fried rice was the most disappointing. I think the 3300 North Roosevelt China Garden is not China Garden West. China Garden on Roosevelt is in the shopping center close to Publix. I ate there about 8 on NYE. The food was typical of Chinese restaurants. I had the sesame chicken combo platter. I ate there because I knew I'd get a full meal for under $20 and I did. Nothing spectacular but tasty nonetheless. My biggest compliment is regarding cleanliness. So far, this is the cleanest restaurant I've been to in Key West. Very nice decor and clean! The staff was very friendly and attentive. I have no complaints. I probably won't be back there for awhile because I have so many other restaurants to try and, as I said, the food was the usual ok Chinese food. The amount of depression that has overcome my body is actually egregious and the amount of spiritual transgression that I now must endure is possibly more than my feeble frame can handle. Please understand that I was EXCITED for this almond chicken and it tastes like if I took 150 cans of Campbell chicken noodle soup, drained all of the broth and noodles out, took the chicken pieces and drown them in water chestnuts and carrots and soaked it all in water with a single squirt of honey. I ate two bites and was bullied by my friends. I may never recover. My friend tipped 12 cents on accident and I suppose this is the good Lord letting me know that what goes around comes around. Amen. This place is well organized and super yummy. I gave 4 stars because our food took and hour for delivery. However it was pipping hot when we got it. The pork fried rice was delicious. I'm pretty particular about my pork fried rice, this one was yummy. Fresh red pork, egg, crunchy veggies (but just a hint) and the rice was colored brown; it could be brown rice or white with the sauce. It was delicious. I also got general Tso's chicken. It was ok, but super yummy the next day. Chang delivered my food and I didn't realize the tip wasn't added to the online menu so I dropped it off a day later as promised. This is a clean restaurant near TJ Max shopping mall on Roosevelt, not to be confused with China Garden West Downtown near Duval (different ownership). They serve combination plates with reasonable portions and dishes which were a step above the regular tourist food you get in tourist areas. They are better than the downtown Chinese restaurant so if you have a car, drive here. Portions are more generous than the competition. particularly the combos, and the food is fairly authentic for tourist food. The restaurant is clean, the restroom too, with easy parking in the shopping mall parking lot, particularly since the Sears site is vacant. Service was very attentive and the food came out fast with a fairly large back staff. We ate here twice on our vacation though the food is not up to par compared to our usual San Francisco Bay Area eateries. Recommended. read more

It was not thick and spicy as it should be. The fried rice looked and tasted days old. When I called to complain they offered to come by and pick the food up and return my money.
