Great meal all around. We started with the fried shrimp appetizer, which was very good and a strong way to kick things off. The chicken, shrimp, and beef fried rice was awesome--well cooked, flavorful, and easily one of the highlights of the meal. The stone crab was another hit; we loved the claws, fresh and satisfying. We also tried the spicy shrimp soup with fish, which was good and nicely balanced with just the right amount of heat. Decided to eat here with the family on our vacation in January. Before you pay for parking on the street, check the lot in front of the place, as they do have a few spaces. We were greeted upon entry and sat immediately. The service was great, but the food was nothing special. The Burbon chicken was not like I am used to with smaller pieces and the taste is different. The fried rice didn't ring any bells either and paying for a soda to receive a can is a bit cheap. Would not recommend wasting the time or money. read more

Both of the China Garden restaurants here in Key West are excellent. The Fleming Street downtown one is always quiet and uncrowded, which I LOVE, the food is great, and the service top-notch. I need to work on my Chinese, as some of the folks have limited English skills, but can easily understand menu items, so it's no big deal. Actually, now that I think about it, BOTH sites are quiet and comfortable. Well air-conditioned too, important here in the Tropics. read more

Key West has some great restaurants and can range in price from cheap to very expensive. Well China Garden West Downtown is a very affordable place to eat. It's not the fanciest place in town, quite the opposite, with a small dining room and little bar at the front. They also have parking right in front (not a lot) so it makes it easy to go there. The food was good, we ordered the Chicken Chow Mien and the Goo Goo Gai Pan which were both combinations. Very good, they came with pork fried rice, soup of your choice (we had the egg drop), and a pork spring roll. Before we got our meal they brought out some hot mustard and sweet and sour sauces to go with the crispy chips. Their hot mustard was good because it wasn't over the top hot. Still cleared out your sinuses but not bad. The service was great from the moment we walked in. They kept our water filled and checked on us every once in a while. All and all I would recommend this place if you want a quick, affordable, quiet meal in Key West. read more

If you're looking for some quick and yummy food then definitely give this place a try. The food and service here were both really good. We ordered the won ton soup, chicken low mien, and chicken with garlic. The inside was nicely decorated and the waitress sat us down as soon as we walked in. It was not at all busy and for the longest time we were the only ones there. They also have a walk up window outside where you can order food to go! The food was great and my favorite was the won ton soup, It was so delicious. The chicken they used for the entrees was also good, and it did not have any chewy rubbery pieces like most chicken dishes have. I would definitely eat here again if I lived nearby. read more

I'm quite furious. I ordered beef and broccoli with white rice, 2 orders of egg rolls, an order of fried wontons and a small order of boneless ribs. I opened it 40 minutes after delivery as we were busy. I have no rice, no fried wontons, fried dumplings that I didn't order and no one is answering the phone. Normally we love this place, but they screwed this order up bad. I'm now not going to eat this because there is no rice. Check your order right when you get it, otherwise you'll be screwed like me. read more

Not my favorite Chinese take out place, which is sad, but it happens I supposed. On a trip to the Keys I really wanted Chinese. This place was near my hotel so I walked over to check it out. At this point in time you are not able to eat inside you can only order at the takeout window and order to go. So that's what I did! My order didn't take very long so I walked it back to my place to eat. I got the sweet and sour pork combo with soup and an egg roll. The soup and the egg roll were the best part. The breading on the pork was really thick and on some pieces kind of soggy which was not good. And the hotel was around the corner from the restaurant so I can't even say it was transportation delay. The rice was bland beyond belief. No amount of duck or soy sauce could save this sad, sad rice. I wanted to like it, I really did but sadly I threw away most of it. The soup and eggroll were amazing. Those I'd get again, but I need a little bit more than just that to make me want to come back again and again. read more

I always try new items because they are reasonably priced. They have parking out front. Excellent won ton soup. To go orders take about 5 -10 minutes. They have really good steamed rice. The best that can be said about this place is their parking lot. The food is appallingly bad. One reviewer said that the restaurant offered his Chinese wife a separate menu (in Chinese). I wish I had gotten that opportunity. But this poses a question: if the cook can prepare authentic Chinese food sufficiently well to impress a Chinese diner, why not revamp the entire menu and toss out all the clichéd Cantonese-American crap that reminds one of dining in 1962? American tastes have evolved quickly and we are ready for some excellent and authentic Chinese cuisine. The empty dining room serves as a warning. Please change your menu, before it's too late! We (I'm a local) will support you in that effort! read more

Ok friendly enough. Food priced much like I expect at home. I ordered Crab Rangoons and Beef Broccoli with pork fried rice. It also came with an egg roll. Beef Broccoli was very good. Beef was tender. Pork fried rice was super good. Crab Rangoons were way too flat and had very little filling in them. Egg roll yuck, but I dont really like egg rolls any way. Glad I tried them. First time down in Key West. Delivery driver was very rude and impatient. The resort we stayed in was very large and he did not give me time to try and get to him. Called and told me he had other deliveries to make and said I quote "Lady are you coming. I have other deliveries than just you." Restaurant is just a block off the main drag of Duval Street with free parking. We stopped by for a quick lunch ordering boiled dumplings (off the Chinese menu) and won ton soup. It is typical for an isolated Chinese restaurant in an American tourist location with typical greasy spoon food. The dumplings (Gyoza) was 15 on the plate for $12.95. When we came it, we were surprised to see them making a big tray of fresh dumplings. Unfortunately, the ones the served were the frozen variety from the local restaurant supply, not steaming hot but watery. When we asked, we were advised that the housemade dumplings were used for a different dish with only 6 (appetizer menu). The won ton soup was small with 4 or 5 deep fried pork wontons. The wontons appears to be prefried and stored in the freezer or fridge with a flash fry before adding to the soup. They did not taste fresh. The charsiu/barbequed pork slices in the soup were vintage suffering from freezer burn. I would consider the food typical of a hole in the wall restaurant but not up to par compared with the other China Garden in town (you need a car to get there) and the Panda chain. read more

The only reason I'm giving this establishment two stars is because the food came out fast, but now that I think about it, maybe a little more time would've made the quality better! I was absolutely famished after a long day of work and figured Hey, let's check out some Chinese Food. I found this restaurant and it was only a two minute walk away. Yes!! ..... NO! I ordered very simple. Wonton soup and egg rolls. The egg rolls were stiff and not very tasty. Forget that, let's get on to the wonton soup. The soup had good flavor but didn't have any of the usual chives and small pieces of meat you usually find in the broth. After I ate the first wonton I noticed that it was very starchy and I didn't taste any meat. I figured this was weird. I ate another one and again I barely tasted any meat. It was like a pure wonton skin roll. I then opened the third wonton up and there was a small minuscule piece of meat in there. How could they think no one would notice this?? See my pics below. Taste Soooooo fucking bad, they make high percent tips enforcements, and a tip column is also added to the receipt. Only one small plate of rice was given to each table when , as shown in the picture, when I questioned them, they began to stop serving us and didn't greet us until we paid the bill. Sauce was clear-ish and could have used a little bit more in the container. Mushrooms and carrot too, nice additions. A friend of mine ordered a combination plate that consisted of soup, egg roll, chicken, fried rice and veggies. There was a hair in her fried rice. She didn't want another plate or anything else on the menu. We told our server about it. The server told the manager who came to our table and instead of at least pretending to apologize told us quite rudely that because my friend ate the soup and took a bite of the egg roll she would have to pay for those 2 items as separate side orders. Well whatever. At least show SOME customer service lady! Besides, they add 18% tip to the bill automatically! I understand why though.
