Walked in from a long drive to the lady at the front with red hair with a horrible expression. My husband asked if they had teriyaki and she answered with " dont you see it". Mind you this was our first time here. Basically she had a Cara de panocha sending glares at us while we ate! The young girl helping was very nice. read more

I just ate off the buffet of prepared food. Good choices available and pretty much the standard selection. It is fast food so not a lot of ambiance going on but restaurant was clean. The staff were nice but not overly friendly. Good value for the money. read more

This place literally has the WORST food ever. Chicken teriyaki is smothered in onions and has no flavor. I asked for extra crispy fried tofu and was given gelationous goo that was horrible along with a pound of broccoli that had a chemical taste to it. The sesame chicken was soggy and with no flavor and the chicken inside looks disgusting. I am willing to give restaurants a fair shake, but this is NOT Chinese food but rather unidentifiable, unflavorable pile of mush. I wouldn't order again even if it was free. In my review of the original China Go, I noted the saving grace of that cheap fast food Chinese restaurant was the giant pile of food you receive for the price. China Go Grill takes the buffet-style (Panda Express-style) of Chinese dining to south Rock Road, and in their larger space they've expanded the menu offerings of their buffet, along with some hibachi grill items. I could give them the benefit of the doubt with their flagship location, but after trying some of their expanded menu items, I was confronted with some neon red chicken skewers that tasted a little funky, pineapple chicken that was mushy and uncomfortably contrasting with the sauce that covered it, and the house meatballs that - while dense and a little pink in the middle - were the best of the bunch. I came close to finishing the meatballs, and definitely did finish the eggroll, but after poking around for a little bit I gave up on what remained. Perhaps the made-to-order stuff would be a better use of your money. I'm sure the standard beef and broccoli-type fare would be fine, too, if you're just looking for a fix. The portions are still good for the money, too, but I was pretty disappointed in my meal and am not really interesting in making a return visit. read more

This place was a real disappointment. I decided to pay them a visit the same week they opened and since then I have not been back. My family and I ordered in and the food on the buffett looked like it had been out for a while; which was odd because the place was pretty busy. I paid for our food and when we sat down to eat it tasted that way as well. I could not even finish everything and simply walked out. I have only eaten here once, and that was dine in; I can not speak for their to go food. I noticed them preparing some of the to go food fresh so I anticipte that might be better. Since they've opened, things may be different; I dont know. With my experience I will not be back to visit. I'm interested to hear what other people have to say about this place. read more

Wow! It's been a while since I truely enjoyed any type of Asian food. I ordered a two item platter (spicy teriyaki & General Tso's chicken) with fried rice and an egg roll. I can't even remember the last time I liked egg rolls. These reminded me of the joy they used to give me when I did love them in high school. Also, I have no idea what they do diffrently to their fried rice, but I am a huge fan. The teriyaki was very good as well. I found myself sad when it was gone. I can't say that I enjoyed the Tso's. It was ok, but just fell short of the rest of the flavors on my palatte. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and I will be going back very soon. **EDIT** I forgot to mention the beverage I ordered. Thai Ice Tea. YUM! --small warning for the newbie -- this drink may take some getting used to. It has been a favorite of mine since I was a child. It was everything I remembered and haven't been able to find in a while. I can see myself frequenting them, even if it is just for the Tea! We had a really bad experience here and I don't know when or if I'll be back and it's funny because my last review I left 5 stars, but after today they definitely only deserves one. Ok so first of all when we walked in the lady working there was rushing me so much she barely even let me look at the menu without asking me repeatedly what I wanted and it's not like they were about to close it was 3:00 in the afternoon. Then she rang me up before I could tell her everything I wanted. She kept telling me the total and I kept telling her more stuff I wanted, but she was rushing me so much that she rang up the total literally 5 times because she wouldn't be patient and make sure I had everything I wanted. I had to pay three different times because she kept trying to rush me out of there before I was done telling her what I wanted. After I got what I thought was all my food I tried to check it a couple times to make sure it was all there and she was defensive saying it's all there. I always check my food before I leave wherever I go because majority of the time something is wrong or something isn't there at most restaurants and I've learned its easier to check it before you leave so that you don't get home and realize you don't have some of your food. But she insisted it was all there. So I get home and you guessed it, there was food missing and my daughter's egg drop soup was brown and I've never seen brown egg drop soup. Her and my husband both tried it and they both said it didn't taste right either. So I called and told her she forgot my daughter's egg roll and the egg drop soup was brown. She asked me if I wanted to switch it out and I said yes and also she needed to give me the egg roll she forgot. After I left I realized I didn't grab the brown egg drop soup, but I didn't think it was that big of deal. So I went ahead and went there and she was rude saying where's the soup and was having the cooks tell me it was seasoning that made it brown. It was like she was trying to prove I was wrong. Good food for a good price! They are pretty quick and but don't mistake this for "fast food." The Hispanic cook always makes my order as I request (a little spicy), I have no complaints. He's really good! The prices for the fountain drinks are more than I like to pay, but then I'm not going there to drink! The egg drop soup is better than most I've tried. I'm giving a 4 because the price is on point for the food portion. You can walk in with a 5 dollar bill and walk out with a million dollar smile. Probably the best ratio I have seen. I like getting the chicken fried rice for lunch. They have it ready within minutes and you can walk out with a good portion under 5 buckaroos. Get ready for a doggy bag you will have leftovers.They have large portions that a regular human cannot eat. Very good food. read more

Love this place and cannot get enough. My wifey really enjoys it too. I always get the hot and sour soup, extra spicy and it is wonderful. They will happily spice up any dish they make. The China Go sign was no boast; it is the best catfish in town. The catfish dinner had a very large piece of golden brown fish fried in fresh oil and to order. The staff and chefs were friendly and knew their jobs which is rare in Wichita fast food dining. read more

The food is great and inexpensive. Their version of house style (General Tso) is sweet like I like it :) I do prefer the location by the movie theatre because they include more veggie variety in their items, but the south rock road one is also great. As far as some of the other reviews... Anyone who eats at buffet places knows, you get there when they make fresh food or you ASK for freshly made portions of what you want. Yes there are people who are Hispanic that work there...but so what? If that matters to you, then for the sake of society, you probably should only stay inside your house anyway. Clearly, some people have problems with certain people of certain ethnic persuasions. (ie the commentator that said "You can't have Spanish people cooking Chinese food." -- which is the most ridiculously racist thing I have heard in a long time). I say, get over yourself and get out in the world. It big, and a lot of people that are not like you...and thats ok. lol read more

For some reason these guys have started to ask if we want sweet and sour sauce with our sweet and sour chicken order. Last time they didn't ask and they didn't include any. Everywhere else actually gives you the s&s sauce to go with the s&s chicken. read more
