Food and service seem good with the food bar presented with fresh options... but I have big concerns about overall cleanliness. The place is very dirty. The floors are greasy. Carpet squares needed replacing about 3 years ago, especially as you leave the flat wok area. Slip and fire hazard. Got to be health code cleanliness violations for them alone but everywhere else is dirty too. Doors and table tops are sticky, walls grimy. Bathrooms dirty. Door to kitchen remains propped open and you can see it's dirty back there too. Owners and Management is at fault. Spend some money and renovate, then clean the place up and keep it clean. read more

The food was very good as usual. The service was a little off but okay. The ambiance is another matter. The carpets are extremely dirty, especially when you first leave the grill area. Looks like something was spilled and walked on for several days. The mess was about a foot wide and at least 3 feet long. The rest of the carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed for awhile and has heavy wear areas. The sauce area was sloppy and un kept. This is not an experience any HuHot that we have ever visited. We live in Salina, Ks and try to eat at a HuHot whenever possible. We will try this one again but it will be awhile and hopefully get the carpet cleaned or replaced. read more

Food was meh. The grill is not hot enough. The picture is of my food after asking for it extra well done. Seriously the meat and the tofu weren't actually cooked all the way. Also, stop spraying water on the grill, it lowers the temperature. It was like watching amateur hour on a cooking show. I felt bad for the people, and for the entire cook staff. Their tip box was pitifully lacking because the skill just wasn't there. I will not be coming back even for the low cost. I came at the tail end of the night, still nearly an hour and a half before closing, and 75% of their sauces are empty and not being replaced. I must be honest, I probably haven't been to Hu hot since before the pandemic. The whole pick your items and watch as they are cooked is always delightful. That experience was still fun. Unfortunately the heat must have stopped working as it was so cold my feet were frozen. Everyone had their coats on. I tried the Asian salad and it's definitely a "don't bother". The manager DeAndre at the restaurant is horrible to work for and with. He will waste your time and effort. He lacks leadership skills and management skills. He doesn't keep up with employees and schedules, the food isnt worth the money and work culture just suffers because of him in North Wichita. We stumbled upon this place and decided to try it. We were impressed with it with all the options and especially our server. For us, it was fairly quiet compared to some other places. One of the downfalls that we had is that the men and women's restrooms didn't have hot water to wash our hands. The water was freezing cold. Food area was not any better. The vegetables looked fresh. However, the seasoning area was confusing it wasn't clear which seasoning was which. I only ended up choosing one liquid seasoning because of it, and my food was extremely bland. One thing that grossed me out was how dirty the grill area was. This place is all you can eat, so no need to stock up too much on the first bowl. There are very limited bar options--mostly beer and a few wines in a single serving bottle. This was disappointing. Our server was efficient and pretty quick to clear plates, but not especially personable. There are a TON of options for what you can include in your bowl, but not a lot of guidance about what goes well with what--so you kind of have to experiment. I could rant longer but an overflowing toilet left with just a wet floor sign during prime weekend rush pushes me over the edge. Guess where the staff that make and prep your food go. The floors in the food selection area were slick at least in part to the bathroom gross. The only redeeming vale was courteous staff. When you watch them "clean the grill" and the ooze from the opposite side hits someone else's food or the one next to yours seep it's cleaning into your food, not good at all. I stopped in here for lunch with a friend last week and had a great visit and also left incredibly full. For those who have not been this is an all you can eat, build your own meal Mongolian grill. There are several bars in which to pile up food into a bowl starting with meats (beef chicken pork and sausage and some imitation crab) then move on to two bars full of veggies and other fixins and then top it off with any number of sauce and oil comvinations. They have recommendations on a board to help out. After this hand your pile of food to a cook who will light it all up on a giant metal grill. It's quite yummy but in my opinion no matter how you mix it up it all kinda tastes the same. Overall the food does taste good, the staff are friendly and the place was clean. Me and my co-worker showed up for lunch and was quickly greeted and seated. We both had the 'grill meal". We went up and filled our bowls up with what we wanted grilled. The cooks around a circular flat plate, cooked our contents and put them on a plate. Hot, perfectly cooked food is what we had. Our waitress was very attentive to our drink needs and we filled ourselves up with delicious food and Coke products. This is a treasure of a Mongolian restaurant. It's worth a drive here. A buddy and I visited a different Mongolian grill a few weeks ago and it was $30 for a single trip to the grill for the two of us. My wife, my buddy, and I tried HuHot a few days ago and it was $38 for all three of us with unlimited trips to the grill. The price may differ a few cents because of taxes. $14 for a single trip for one person (different place) or $12 for unlimited trips for one person (HuHot). Both places had good food but HuHot was slightly better in my opinion. We had a black lady as our server/waitress and she was also very good. She kept our table cleared and our drinks full. I called her manager over and told him that she did a good job and to tell her thank you. If you are wanting a Mongolian grill in Wichita, this is the place I would recommend. This place is terrible. It was so dirty--the floor especially, there was food all over. The cabbage had mold. It seems like a really inefficient process, too. You have little bowls that fill up quickly, then stand in a weird line forever while you awkwardly stare at the people cooking your food for you. They had someone wiping things off in between customers up at the food bar. The food was amazing! They have low carbohydrate options like zucchini noodles, they have different types of meats so even my picky picky kiddo was happy! Lots of options to legit fit almost any dietary need.
