I was here some months ago and it seems like there have been some major changes. Changes that I did not find positive during this visit. I ordered via DoorDash for pick up. Within minutes of placing my order, I received a notification that the food was ready. I did think it was weird that the food was prepared and ready so quickly. I arrived to the restaurant five minutes later. I informed the woman at the counter of the pick up order. She looked confused and then told me "ten more minutes". I thought I would have to wait because I was close by when I placed my order. That's not the issue. The issue is receiving notification that it was ready and it wasn't. Was that done to manipulate time efficiency on DoorDash's end? Is there some measurement or record of the timeliness of preparation and readiness? As I sat and waited, I watched the woman and her interactions with other customers. It was lackluster and bare minimum. Customer service was non existent. I ordered shrimp fried rice and tofu with garlic sauce. The tofu was very soft and the flavor was okay. I would have preferred the tofu to have been cooked firmer. The shrimp fried rice was also okay. The only positive note I have is that the restaurant eating area was clean. I won't be back in the near future. read more

The food was not great. I lived in Metro West about 10 years ago and this place was great. I used to get Chinese food all the time. I've just recently moved back and tried it again and the food was awful. I general Tso chicken, which typically would be sweet and hot. It was neither it had no flavor whatsoever. It was the color of Trump skin, but there was no heat. There was absolutely no flavor. I got dumplings the sauce that came with the dumplings usually the typically sweet and spicy sauce this was literally just chilly oil and a cup, and the dumplings were overcooked. It was very disappointing. I threw the whole thing away. It was un edible. I don't recommend this to anybody. read more

This used to be my closest Chinese food spot but after moving, I still made an effort to come here. Over the years, I think they have changed owners I believe and gone through some remodels but have always been consistently good. They have my favorite lo mein in town for sure. Recently they have added a "Latin" portion to their menu which I really enjoy. I like getting their food delivered for convenience but I did recently go pick up an order and the space has been updated and looks nice and clean on the inside. read more

We were looking for a new takeout place to try while over at a friend's house. After perusing reviews, we decided to try China Grill. We ordered via Uber Eats. The food arrived quickly. Most Chinese takeout places give large portions, and China Grill is no exception! The meals are easily shareable. I tried wonton soup, steamed dumplings, and beef with broccoli sauce which came with fried rice with the combo. The soup was okay, pretty standard. The dumplings were really good. The beef with garlic sauce was very tasty. There was a generous amount of crisp veggies like broccoli, baby corn, snow peas, and water chestnuts. The beef itself was plentiful and tender. The sauce had a nice, mild kick to it. The rice was also pretty good. It was a little different than fried rice at other spots, but still yummy. While this isn't my favorite Chinese spot overall, it's a solid option for good takeout. read more

For a chinese fast food, this place isn't so bad. Ordered pick up the day after hurricane Ian and the place was PACKED! Despite the wait, the food came out great. I enjoyed it. The pricing isn't horrible either. Your best deal is to go for their combination plates rather than their entrees. The combination plate portions just seemed more worth the money. The taste is ok. Is chinese fast food; They all taste about the same to me Also, make sure to order online for pick up otherwise you will be waiting a while. Although, not sure if it is the same regularly. read more

Ok so with all the news lately about restaurants taking shortcuts, I'm now in the habit of looking up the inspector reports before eating out. GREAT news, China Grill has a spotless record. The last report was on 5/6/18 and no violations were found. Now I can eat in peace. It's a busy Friday night (8:30pm) when I called and was told it'd be about an hour before they can deliver. Good to know so I'm not sitting around frustrated wondering when my food will arrive. I opted to pick up my order instead. 15-20 minutes, not bad at all! The lady answered my questions quite nicely over the phone, she sounded a little rushed & I can tell she was multitasking which is fine. It's good to know they're busy! I ordered Shrimp fried rice with 10 extra shrimp for $2 extra charge, egg roll, and steamed pork dumplings. Everything was tasty and piping hot. Tried this place for the second time since it is the closest Chinese spot near our apartment. Obviously we liked it if we had it a second time & ended up getting the same thing second time around. This time around it was a late lunch but it was nice because their lunch last till 3 so we got lunch prices with the same amount of food as we did our first visit for dinner. We did takeout both times because it is literally like a 5 min drive up the street. My boyfriend loves shrimp so he knew exactly what he was getting, the shrimp with garlic sauce. I on the other hand usually go with chicken & broccoli or beef & broccoli but after I saw pics on Yelp(yes I look at the pictures)lol I decided to go with the beef in garlic sauce, and the veggies that came with it had broccoli my favorite plus the little corns & waterchesnuts which I love but never get. Our meals always come with an egg roll which I really enjoyed when we got it for lunch so I'm not sure if I was just really hungry or they were fresh because I don't remember it being that good the first time. Lastly we got crab ragoons because those are a must whenever we get Chinese & they were great both times, could use a little more filling. The first time we ordered late at night because it is open late like 11 on the weekends at least. So we weren't sure the first time around & thought it was a little pricy. Yet when we got the 2 lunch combos & our crab ragoons of course it was like $17 which really isn't bad plus you always have leftovers because they make sure your box is full. I do recommend go for a lunch combo that is from 11-3 since it's cheaper then you have your leftovers for dinner. As long as we live in the area I'm sure we will be back many more times but most likely stick to our regular order.lol read more

The fried rice taste so weird. Like some kind of meat sauce tossed in rice. The flavor is NOTHING like New York. NOT EVER. I'm so disappointed because I've tried a few Chinese restaurants and NONE were good. The texture of the fried rice was hard. The broccoli with garlic sauce did not taste good at all. The broccoli was superrr hard and the sauce tasted weird. Not sure what their base sauce is but they need to change it. Can't get over the taste of the food. I tried eating the rice and broccoli but barely ate two pieces. It doesn't even smell good SMFH. I don't think I'm ever trying Chinese food in Florida ever again. First time come to this place, ordered the orange chicken, it come with rice as well, the food came out very soon, I like it.sweet and sour, very good with rice, I almost finish all of that. Needed a quick bite to eat and didn't feel like cooking. Decided on Chinese take out. I usually prefer authentic Chinese but this was close by. We walked in to place our orders. I went with the beef with garlic sauce combo that included soup and pork fried rice. I asked to have white rice instead. I choose a hot and sour soup. My bf ordered the chicken mei fun. My beef was super tender. The food was decent. I feel like Chinese take out is literally cooked the same at every Chinese take out restaurant. Would still prefer authentic over this. I ordered from here because it was the only place we had a menu for and I knew it was nearby... big mistake. As soon as I told the woman who answered the phone that I wanted it to be delivered, she sucked her teeth and let out a loud and very obvious annoyed sigh. She was on speakerphone and my husband heard it from the other room. She was extremely rude and she was very short with me when I was nothing but kind to her over the phone. I didn't even say anything and my husband came out of the room to comment on how rude the woman was after I hung up the phone. The delivery driver was very nice. However, when I received the food, I saw that my order was completely wrong! I ordered Szechuan chicken. What I received wasn't even chicken, it was beef! And I don't even think it was Szechuan beef at that! I didn't't call back to tell them about it then because it was already late at that point and I really did not want to deal with that woman's attitude again. China Grill was open Christmas Day.- we picked up orange chicken and the cook made me a custom Seafood Neptune: lots of seafood including scallops and a small lobster- like tail with vegetables, all steamed - NO SALT! Just what the doctor ordered. It was delicious. The serving was large enough, I took the rest home, mixed more steamed vegetables (made from my Farmers Market refrigerator drawer) the remaining seafood and created dinner for myself for two more nights. The quality of the seafood was excellent, it did not need salt or any other restricted seasoning. We will be back soon. read more

We decided to carry out instead, it's located in shopping plaza, good neighborhood well lit, has other restaurants, bar, gym, other offices next door. Corner of plaza, has inside air conditioning seating with TV, clean & friendly employees. Food was ready to go, provided extra sauces & cookies no charge! Food is amazingly delicious for price well paid. Lots of food 2 can eat from combination platters. They are open late on weekends 11pm for a Friday. We will be back! read more

Great Chinese food for the price. After reading the reviews on yelp and finding myself at Valencia College West (a 3 minute drive away) I decided to get myself some lunch. The Orange Chicken was better than expected! It had a sweet and tangy flavor with pieces of real Orange peel and just enough kick to clear the sinesses (probably spelled that wrong...) I moved from NY to Orlando about 6 years ago and had a hard time finding decent Chinese food. China Grill has been my all time favorite since I found them and they have surpassed my favorite places in NY. Not only are they friendly, quick, CLEAN, reliable and friendly, but they are a staple to the community. I ordered delivery this visit during the COVID19 quarantine and the gentleman came within 45 minutes while wearing a mask (thank you!). Not only was the food spectacular as always, but they left me 2 face masks and a bottle of hand sanitizer with my order. This act of kindness speaks so many volumes I'm not sure where to start. Not only is this a kind gesture, but it hopefully entices people not wearing masks to do so and eventually pass that along to their neighbor. I'm sure no one wants to risk their life delivering take out food, so be considerate to anyone and everyone, especially those who are working to keep us all fed! Such a big disappointment. This was our first time ordering delivery from here / first time eating their food. We were excited and looking forward for good food. The reviews seemed pretty good. BUT... First off, the food got delivered after 1hr and 25 mins of ordering. Called them and asked, they said they were very busy. Okay that's fine. Starting from the appetizers, ordered the Bobo platter, the teriyaki beef stick looked as if someone had licked off all the sauce from it. Hot and sour soup ( which I always order from a Chinese restaurant) - salty and oily. Not hot or sour. Pan fried noodles with pork- mushy noodles dripping with oil. Tasted sweet. ( Maybe that's how it was supposed to taste, I don't know but did not like that either) Yang chow fried rice...was meh (bland) So yeah. Maybe we made bad choices from the menu. Food quality has recently dropped off significantly. I have been coming here for years and everything they make now is bland and flavorless. They used to be very good. Less veggies almost all carbs. If you have to charge more to make better food than do it, but cutting corners on food quality is why you have lost lots of returning customers. They are understaffed and now use a food service delivery company to handle their to go service. It seams that quantity not quality is the name of the game here. read more

Great food!! Nothing overly salty, great prices, good portion size Mongolian beef- delicious brown sauce, tons of onions, tender caramelized beef! Hot and sour soup- lots of yummy bits in the soup, could have had more pop, more sour more hot tasting. Veggie Lomein- very good!! Tender noodles, tasty brown sauce!! Thanks David for mentioning the Wonton Soup. I can always tell if the food is good by their Wonton Soup. I'm spoiled with the NY Style that comes with little slices of pork at the bottom ( odd that they don't practice that in FL that often ) but this soup is as close as I have found to the NY Style. Curious about the Sesame Chicken now too. :) Now the decor is as meh as they come but don't let that throw you off. read more
