This was a pleasant surprise. After searching for an affordable dinner that would fit my budget of $13 for the night I stumbled upon China Wok on South John Young Parkway in Orlando last Friday. Unfortunately all of the menu items are large quart sizes unless you're ordering soup or fried rice. Come in with a big appetite or order for your friends and family as well as yourself or you're going for a feast or next day's leftovers. Thankfully I was famished and ate the entire order of my go to favorite entree of Pepper Steak with Onions and it exceeded my expectations. It's on par or maybe even better than the best Chinese takeout spots I've been to such as Golden Cheung in Manasquan, NJ or China King in King of Prussia, PA or Peking Wok in High Bridge, NJ which is quite the feat. Chinese food I've found in Florida, especially Orlando has been hit or miss with some disgusting and some just slightly acceptable. China Wok here is 5 stars all the way including the nautical decorations inside the restaurant. The little plastic crabs inside the former sushi bar are a nice touch. Let me start by saying I did not eat in the establishment, but ordered take out through Uber Eats. Based on that experience the food was prepared fast, faster than estimated and arrived hot(my job is close to the location). The egg roll, fried rice and Rangoon were delicious and had the typical flavors you find at the similar establishments. The General Tso's chicken on the other hand was a little bland. If you're looking for some comfort food, then this is it. This is my go to Uber eats on a Sunday night after being out all day. I've been inside the restaurant before. It's nothing fancy just a basic Chinese American restaurant. It's small and simple. The staff is very polite and always say 10 mins for your order to be ready. I believe they only have a table or two inside since after Covid so you may have to get it to go. The Combo meals average around $13 each which is not bad at all because you get so much food you'll have enough for a few days if you're a lite eater. This is some of the worst Chinese food I have ever had. It tastes like all of the pots were burned. The chicken and the rice both have burn flavors. I can't finish this and I won't give it to anyone. This is my neighborhood Chinese restaurant. It is nothing fancy. Take out only. Parking can be difficult but there is a lot. They used to do sushi but now they do Cajun instead ( go figure ) We haven't tried the Cajun but the Chinese is always good. Again nothing fancy but a wide selection of reasonably priced Chinese food which is surprisingly good. My daughter loved their chicken teriyaki which they no longer have on their menu sadly (hint,hint). We like their lunch specials which are a really good bargain at a great price and their portions are very generous. I have ordered from this place for a long time. This year I've been treated like crap by the disrespectful rude Young guy that works at night. When I order during the day, my order is always correct. When I order at night and he's working and my order is always wrong. So I give them a call. They only corrected my order twice. 3 months ago, I told myself I wouldn't order from here again because of him being so rude and assuming I'm trying to get free food, he's so angry. Well I gave in and reordered the only dish I eat. Which is the rice/and low mein noodle combo. I tell him the combo with veggie rice, veggie noodle and veggie spring roll. When I get all the way home, it's one Order of just rice or one order of just noodles. Hey I visited this location one day after work. Feeling very tired hot and hungry I decided to go to this location because it's closest to my job. So it was effortless to call in to place my order when I got there I saw quite a few people ahead of me which made me feel like wow this must be good great. So my food was ready when I got to the counter I paid for it and I left. But to my dismay when I got home and started to unravel my food bag purchase. Unfortunately I noticed that my hot mustard it was left out that I love for my soup, my noodles were left out for all three of my soups that I ordered. If you're looking for fried rice instead of plain white rice with your meal, they kind of force you to buy the combo which is about $2-$4 extra, but it comes with other things, so I guess it balances out.
