Overall have always loved Soong Thai. Great food and spice is on point. Hopefully tonight was a fluke. We ordered a Thai Basil Pepper Chicken and red Curry. The basil chicken was $12.95 and curry was $13.95. The portion size of the basil chicken was half of what it has been historically. I think I even got more Tom Kha then I did of the basil chicken... Updating 5/2025 - still horrible portion size and they forgot to give us our rice. Rediculous. Small little gem in Ocoee. As soon as you enter, you will notice the soft lighting and Asian decorations all throughout the restaurant. The staff are so friendly and efficient. My most recent visit I ordered takeout and it only took 10 minutes. I ordered the duck with vegetables and the drunken noodles with shrimp. You have the option with different spice levels but since I had ordered lunch for my friend and I, I went with mild. The food here is so yummy, fresh, decently priced and perfectly portioned. Always lovely eating here. The food is freshly made and always delicious. The service is also great and it's an intimate dining room not too big. They seem to always have a lot of people coming in for to-go orders which show how good the food is. I love Thai food so much, and I was so happy to finally find a place in Orlando that lived up to my standards, Soong Thai is just great. When we come we usually get the amazing chicken, which is broccoli and chicken with peanut sauce and a chicken pad thai. My husband loves the spicy ginger shrimp as well, but I'm not a big ginger fan. I usually go between medium and hot depending on how I am feeling that day, but their spiciness is perfect for me. The appetizers are all delicious as well, we've had the rangoons, spring rolls, and satay. I love the basic soup and salad, the soup really warms you up and its not too salty like some places. Their rice is always cooked perfectly and the staff is very nice, we never wait too long. Soong Thai is definitely worth the 30 minute drive! read more

I never thought I could have such terrible Thai food but this restaurant definitely gets the award. My wife ordered fancy duck and I ordered chicken pad Thai. The duck looked like road kill and the sauce tasted like some ketchup sauce from a package. The chicken from the pad Thai was overcooked and dry and the pad Thai was comparable to frozen food pad Thai at Costco. $70 for such poor quality food hurts my soul. read more

Tried the Pad Se-ew at this restaurant. Overall it was cooked well, caramelized nicely in a wok and pretty delicious. The dish came with a small salad and soup that was pretty basic. The restaurant had very traditional decor and they had awards on the wall for their food which was great to see. Tried this place for the first time last night via UberEats and it was delicious! Kudos to them for also following all my notes - thank you! The chicken pad Thai was very good. The noodles weren't dried out but instead had moisture and lots of flavor. The portion was pretty big too. My partner got the panang curry with brown rice and said it was very flavorful and delicious as well. The portion looked huge. I also got the Tom Kha soup (the coconut soup). I ordered it with steamed tofu instead of chicken and it was so very flavorful. I couldn't get enough! Really enjoyed this place and I'm glad we tried it! read more

Amazing Thai, great service, and surprisingly easy to get to. This is my girlfriend's favorite Thai restaurant and for a good reason. Everything I've ever tried has been amazing. Their crab Rangoon is the best I've ever had. We went here last night with some friends and once again Soong Thai did not disappoint. Our server was very friendly, the atmosphere was clean and nice (and socially distanced), and everyone's food was incredible. I ordered the pad Thai hot with a side of egg fried rice. Hands down the best fried rice I've ever had. While it seems a bit out of the way on the west side of town, it's right off the 408 expressway, so it only took us 15 minutes to get here from downtown. This has to be one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the Orlando area. I was able to visit after a couple years and it was so worth the wait. I took my friend to try it out and he loved everything. From the delicious Thai tea to the Amazing Chicken. It was a great experience. The Amazing Chicken is a dish I have not seen at any other place. It is chicken, potatoes and carrots in a delicious peanut sauce. The sauce is sweet and spicy, I like medium heat. Served with white rice and perfect to share. I don't have pictures this time because I devoured everything, but that's a good sign that this is a solid Thai restaurant in Ocoee. My dad and I went for an early dinner, around 5pm. We were pleasantly surprised to learn they have an early bird special, so we received a small soup and salad with our entree. I found the soup to be very bland but the salad was wonderful. I was expecting ginger dressing, but I took my first bite and found it to be a thicker peanut butter like dressing. It was delicious. We ordered some Crab Rangoon as an appetizer. The pieces were a bit small and could have had more filling, but the flavor was spot on. For my entree, I ordered the Cashew Nut Chicken. It was a smaller portion size than other Thai restaurants I've been to, and the sauce was a bit more like a gravy, but the flavors were all there and I thoroughly enjoyed it. So many great veggies and a great spice. My dad ordered his fried and true Pad Thai and said it was delicious. A couple of things to note: the medium spice level here is more like hot. It was VERY spicy. Good flavor but order mild if you only want a touch of spice. Also, they do not serve alcohol here. Service was great and the food comes out very fast. It was also a great price for everything you got. Get here early on a weekend or you'll have to wait since the inside only has about 10 tables. read more

We ordered three of the chicken and shrimp Pad Thai; two had two pieces of shrimp, one had one, yes, one shrimp. The crab Rangoon had curry powder, odd! They swam in oil too. The fancy duck lacked the duck but had 1/2 pound of fat smothered in what resembled marinara sauce. The spring rolls were drenched in oil. This turned out to be a lovely find. Small inside and intimate, low lighting, but fast and friendly service with very good food. They actually had two lunch special menus and it was almost hard deciding what to order. I chose their crispy duck requesting the brown sauce on the side. They had five levels of spice (heat) and I went with medium. I wanted a touch of zing but not too much. It was a bit too spicy for me as it turned out, but still I forged ahead. Next time I'd order my food mild (and there will be a next time!) To start you off they give you complimentary soup of the day and a fried egg roll. The soup was served as it should be -- very hot. It was a chicken based broth with a few slivers of chicken, rice, and scallions. Very good. The crispy egg roll came with a small dipping dish of sweet sauce. A nice appetizer while waiting for your main course. The duck breast was sliced and crispy served on top of al dente veggies like carrots, cabbage, and red peppers. There was a mound of white rice on the plate as well. On the side (as I requested) was a bowl of brown sauce with cubed carrots, peas, and scallions. You could see some of the red pepper flakes in the sauce too. The sauce was quite good -- thin and flavorful. Had it been less spicy, I would have had more of it. But it was my fault for ordering it too hot. With my nose running and eyes tearing, I still ate most of it. Lunch specials were quite reasonably priced as well. On the way out, we saw a lady dining on a whole fried snapper fish. It looked wonderful. And another couple enjoying pad Thai.
