It's on the pricier side but if you come hungry, I'd say it's well worth it for the amount you can eat and the quality. You begin with the AYCE salad bar, which has a wide range of olives, cheeses, salad toppings, smoked salmon, and even a delightful cold apple salad and potato salad. When we were seated, hot dishes came quickly. I loved all the sides - fried polenta, fried banana, mashed potatoes and cheese bread. You could request a few additional side items complimentary. I tried the fried yucca and was glad I did. Now, the MEAT! Once you turn your card to green, be ready! There was a constant flow of Gaucho chefs with the different varieties of meat. They were very attentive asking preference on cuts. When I was getting full, I wanted just one last piece of picanha. Not one, not two, but three Gaucho chefs stopped by within approximately one minute asking if there was a particular cut I would like while the first chef had gone back to the kitchen. The service was incredible.

I'm also a sucker for their carbs - pao de queijo are a favorite of mine (I make them from scratch at home) and the yucca fries were not dense like other yucca fries I've had before. We all got seconds of our favorite appetizers and I went ahead with the dessert and drink - they do not disappoint! The service was incredibly friendly and answered all of our questions about pronunciation, followed up on our requests for particular meat and kept checking in on us. The vibe is of a high class dining establishment and the staff are in nice uniforms, hats off to them!

Unfortunately, there was no option to request utensils and they didn't include any, so this whole meal was a bust. I'm not taking that out on the review here, just making a note so hopefully they take note to include that option. The hotel I was in didn't have any, and most places around were closing so I was out of luck. I ended up having to fashion some sort of scoop out of the styrofoam container that the rice came in. Did it work? No. But was it at least serviceable? Also no. It was a freaking mess and I basically ended up pitching it. But from what I could taste in between dripping bites all over my hotel room was pretty good! I went with the basics and got a chicken tikka masala. It was not quite the medium spice level, so I'd round up if you like spicey. The chicken was great quality; very tender and flavorful, definitely the highlight. The vegetable samosas were nice and easy to eat so I had two of these which are always good. Same feedback as above, needs a little more spice and flavor in the filling but solid. So all in all, in the unique situation of arriving late and getting hung out to dry on utensils, not great. But the food and prices and everything else were fair to good, so I kind of land in the middle with this one.

I truly enjoyed all the food here. The service was quick, and our server was very kind. But there…read morewas something missing. I ordered Medium and it was VERY mild. The food tasted great, but the spice level left a lot to be desired. My partner ordered Spicy and felt it was still lacking in hard hitting spice. I'd say this is a great place for introducing someone to Indian food. Everything was still delicious but it's far from the most incredible Indian food I've ever had. A very safe option for sure. If you struggle with hot food, give this place a try! If you're looking for ultimate flavor, I'd say pass.

I went in expecting something smaller, but I was completely wrong. The show was entertaining, lively, and so well done. The performers were fabulous and truly made the experience memorable. I was not the biggest fan of the buffet, but since the meal is included with the ticket, it still felt worth it overall. The production alone made the ticket price worth it, and I would definitely consider getting a pass for next year!

Several of our friends coordinated the purchase of 3 sets of 2-ticket pairs to fill a table of 6 for a Sunday evening performance. The pre-show buffet is fantastic with a well stocked selection on the fresh salad bar (typical options as well as broccoli salad) and then a delicious hot dish buffet. We had green beans, corn, quinoa, Mac 'n cheese, baked potato, pulled pork (very, very good!), baked fish, fried fish, fried chicken (also very good!), and rolls. Our server, Eliza, is also one of the Footnotes (formerly AKA as Barnstormers) and was so fabulous with taking care of us and prompt. We ordered various desserts (selections include bread pudding, flourless chocolate torte, strawberry shortcake, rocky road chocolate brownie, hummingbird cake, peanut butter pie, ice cream) to enjoy during intermission and they were all so rich that my advice would be to share if at all possible. Gift shop at entrance had so many cute items. Lobby and restrooms were all well maintained. Support staff were welcoming and all seemed to operate as a team and like a well oiled machine. Parking lot is large, well lit, and very easily accessible for anyone with mobility concerns. Looking forward to the 2026-2027 season!

My top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I came here two Fridays ago ahead of a bourbon tour (thinking, correctly, that we should probably have a hearty meal beforehand so we didn't end up face-first in a gutter somewhere). Several Kentucky natives told us that we had to try a Hot Brown during our visit, and since it was literally created at the Brown Hotel, this seemed like the logical spot. The actual Hotel has some gorgeous interiors, especially upstairs in the lobby. We didn't see that area until after our meal, so when we laid eyes on the Lobby Bar & Grill, we knew immediately that that was where we SHOULD have gone for this Hot Brown dish. J. Graham's, I'm sorry to say, doesn't have the history and personality of the rest of the building and just looks like a generic breakfast spot you'd find in any hotel. It probably exists solely because the other dining options in the hotel aren't open until later and they want to give tourists and their own customers a place to eat at all times of the day, which isn't a terrible reason in my book. But it's also unfortunately not very good, and the dirty walls and overall meh appearance of the establishment just make it very clear that the hey day for this hotel overall was decades ago. The service was the biggest miss here. Our waitress was scatterbrained, often not around or around but hanging out with co-workers or talking up other customers. It was honestly pretty mystifying because when she DID come by, she was often overly apologetic and trying to make amends. But the best way to make amends is not to have to keep doing that throughout the meal. She forgot my friend's coffee (didn't write anything down when we ordered, which is fine if you remember everything but...) and when my chum asked what was in the hummus (one of just three apps), she didn't know and had to go ask someone in the kitchen. That's arguably a nitpick and she DID try to figure it out, but the lunch menu is pretty small and it was a little odd that her menu knowledge was that limited. The bigger problem was that we were in there for over half an hour longer than we wanted to be because she wouldn't come by our table. I actually actively looked for her on the way to the bathroom so I could remind her to come to our table, but instead found her off to the side gossiping with other staff. Not a good look at all. So this might have been an overall positive experience if some of the hospitality from the hotel had spilled over here. We actually both enjoyed the apps, which were the only real positives of the experience. The Bourbon Barrel Fries and the Two Timer, featuring Smoked Bourbon Hummus (bourbon tends to be the theme of your days in this town, I've found) were both really good, and I probably ate more of those than the actual entree. The fries were cooked perfectly and were well seasoned/addictive. The Hot Brown was fine for what it was (we split it to try). It's basically a dramatic turkey melt, with slices of turkey coated in cheese and other sauces. It also came with strips of bacon on top, which on a personal palate level I didn't think really helped the dish so I barely nibbled on those. It's definitely a solid entry but it wasn't mind-blowing for either of us. Maybe it's just from where we come from in the Northeast, but I'm conditioned to like my turkey with accompanying stuffing, and usually in the latter part of November. I think it felt kind of weird to be eating turkey with warm cheese. But I'm glad we tried it and got the context at least. You might have a completely different experience with better service, but I'd still recommend going upstairs for any dining. It's a much better atmosphere and you can really appreciate where this hotel fits in the chronology of Louisville. You're not going to get that from going here.
