The 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 is because for one although we arrived early much of the food we tried was cold. Also the service was quite slow. Went here around 3:00 PM and was pleasantly surprised to find a holiday special for $18.95 for Martin Luther King Day. That was nice! brought my brother and sister for a requested Chinese birthday lunch, and the timing worked out well because it wasn't busy at all, it was busy by the time we left. Service was very fast paced, per usual in these types of settings, which is typical for buffets like this. They didn't even let us fully sit down before asking for drink orders, it's actually funny. I asked for a Pepsi but was brought a Sprite-type soda instead, no big deal. Staff came around often to clear plates, so attentiveness was there, but overall the service was fine, not memorable. The food selection had good variety, which was appreciated. Plenty to choose from, making it easy for everyone to find something they liked, and serve themselves, multiple times. We went on a Sunday afternoon and for about $18 had many choices to choose from. They add a 12% gratuity but that might be because some don't tip so I always tip more cash. So let me caveat with you that the score reflects ranking it against other cheap Chinese buffets and not against regular sit down order restaurants. We went for dinner and the selection is actually on par with most of Chinese buffets. You have to typical steamed mussels and clams, this one actually had crawfish, but it always gets taken out by almost everybody so I didn't actually get a chance to try. They had your typical hot and sour egg drops seafood Swanton soups. They also had the regular fried foods they did have mayonnaise shrimp. The dessert was basically the big tubs of different flavored ice cream that you have to use a scoop for service was typical word they ask you for what drink you want. They did have sushi, surprisingly but I've never been want to risk trying since I've always had issues every time. Appears to be a very staple Chinese buffet in the town so it's got at least history behind it. We went for dinner so the lighting was a little bit dark but not too bad. My family was on their last plates of food when the waitresses (3 of them) gathered rather closely to us and started talking shit. The first waitress "they eat too many plates and only tip $10-$15 dollars". Another waitress "if they want to get big go ahead" -all 3 of them chuckle. How fucking unprofessional and rude. Wanted to try this place for a while now. We had not been to a Chinese buffet since the pandemic so we stopped in on a Friday evening. The first thing I noticed was the fish tank at the front, which was dirty and was too small for the fish inside. Bad sign. THe host sat us quickly and took our drink order- water and pot of tea. The buffet offers all kinds of choices- from traditional American Chinese choices (egg rolls, chicken wings, rice, noodles, veggies, sushi and cold rolls, soups, fresh fruits, and so much more). My opinion is the quality and taste. It just was not good and not flavorful. I saw staff bringing out hot and fresh dishes and food was fresh and hot. Our family finally tried this buffet. We live on the same street and anytime we drive by we always see the parking lot full. The price isn't bad per person. It was $17 per adult, and $8 per child. Lots of food options and some desserts to include ice cream. The waitresses are nice and always come around to check in. The restaurant is big with some decor but a little darker inside. I came here for New Year's Eve dinner which was on a Monday night. They were charging $13.49 plus tax (weekend dinner price) since it was a major holiday. The place is spacious with ample booths and tables plus a full bar and flatscreen TVs too. Before opting to eat in, I took a walk around the 6 buffet stations, sushi bar, and dessert station to make sure the selection of food was acceptable. After seeing plenty of appetizing seafood options throughout, I decided to be seated. The holiday dinner buffet offered close to 100 choices including the typical Chinese dishes (Gen Tsos chicken, fried rice (2 kinds), lo mein, egg rolls, spring rolls, crab rangoons, chicken teriyakis, pan fried dumplings, dim sum, soups, ribs, pepper steak, veg delight, bean sprouts, & more) as well as some American items (pizza, mac & cheese, veg biscuits, potato wedges, crinkle cut fries, onion rings, cheese & spinach, & more), seafood (buttered sea legs, fried butterfly shrimp, salted shrimp, coconut shrimp, butter shrimp, baked salmon, shrimp cocktail, squid salad, ginger crab, mussels, steamed clams), carve your own roast beef, turkey, salads, decent sushi selection (buffet quality), and desserts (hard scoop Hood ice cream, cakes, cookies, egg tarts, apple pie, fruit, jello). After I was seated, they asked me what I wanted to drink and I just asked for ice water (no charge) and it was chow time for me for the next 30 minutes. The food I had was on the greasy side, but otherwise tasted just fine. The ginger crab was very messy to eat since it was covered in the sauce and the shells were very mushy and hard to eat. The hot egg tart and apple pie were very good for dessert, passing on the hard ice cream. After making four buffet trips, I was all set. The used plates were cleared each time I made a return trip to the buffet. As soon as I was eating dessert, the waitress dropped off the check with fortune cookie. However, my ice water was not topped off or refilled during my visit, which I just finished with the desserts. They also include the tip in the bill (just a heads up). We saw a highish review on google so decided to try it out but very disappointed. Went for the first time last Wednesday night and the place wasn't packed ~6:30p. Shared parking lot outside. Go early when food is warm and to avoid any possible crowds. Food is geared more towards American than authentic Chinese. Taste is nothing special but food is filling. Very limited sushi selection. Cooks don't check much so quality is questionable. Food replacement is slow. Missing were vegetable dishes. Service was acceptable though you do have to flag down any wait staff if you want anything. Put the plate aside when you're done and don't more than you can eat as you'll be charged for leftover food on the plate!
