Just a quick update I guess it's been eight years since my last review . Well things that Yutaka haven't actually changed at all. You still get a ton of sushi it's better than buffet sushi, not high-end, but it's middle of the row quality always a great meal they have a great assortment maybe about 10 different sushi rolls available at all times they usually refill the plate promptly there's many other types of food. Also a great Asian buffet a couple of my favorites that stick out the string beans great flavor. I also enjoy the baby clams and black beans sauce over rice. The salt and peppered shrimp and fish that are fried is fabulous. They have a great selection of fresh fruits in or out of season always fresh. The staff here very polite and I don't believe there's any turnover at all. These women have been here forever. The place is usually pretty clean compared to a lot of the Chinese restaurants parking is no problem as it's located storefront at Northgate shopping center I think you can park a couple cars here give it a try for $20 all the sushi you could eat more freaking fabulous deal

I dont know why this resturant has been rated blow 4 stars, I went to there last week and everything was perfect! sushi were fresh, springroll were crisp! they took your empty plates very quickly and food were tasty! I will visit again to grab my lunch there!

It's a decent enough buffet for the price. I was here for a quick lunch on a quiet weekday. Food was pretty decent about what you expected with American Chinese food. Some of the dishes are better than others, I particular enjoyed the cha siu pork, most of the veggie like bok choy and string beans. I thought the seafood like the fish and shrimp weren't that great, even after frying didn't cover up the lack of freshness. The sushi were decent but nothing exciting. It was nice that they still have fruits and desserts though. I tried the melons and dragonfruit and had no complaints on the quality. I mean for $12 lunch buffet its about what I expected. Staff was friendly and service was quick. Overall definitely a good choice for a quick buffet if you're in the mood for it.

For the low, LOW price of $14 for a sushi buffet, I am in love with this place. They even had salmon and tuna sashimi which had great texture. Quality on par with what I've had at other AYCE places (ie Yamato's). It goes fast though so you have to get it quickly before it runs out. I had lowered expectations for the sushi knowing it was a buffet but I am impressed. Almost all the rolls were great. Overall it's a fairly small place with not a huge selection of food, but all the food I had was appetizing and they had 6 flavors of ice cream which I appreciated.. LoL. You get what you pay for and I'd say it's definitely worth it. Also, some of the one-star reviews for this place are bonkers. If you're expecting five-star sushi and service with custom rolls catering to allergies, maybe don't choose a $14 buffet. Wish I lived closer, because I would be coming here all the time.

Honestly, for $14 + $2 for a seltzer this is hands down best lunch stop if you're staying at the 4 points airport hotel. Screw the hotel. Screw McDonalds. Screw UNO (which was closed for maintenance and the hours not updated). This place hit the spot, was quick for me to get to my meeting, service was nice, food was good, and options. Underrated and people need to know!

This is my family's go to sushi place because truly for the price, the sushi can't be beat. Their sashimi and rice are always so fresh and the servers are very sweet. Sometimes they are overworked so it may take a little time for food to arrive if it's packed but overall they try their best to accommodate. There's plenty of seating is inside, nothing fancy, but it works :)

I was disappointed that they were not operating the buffet for lunch, But I saw the Makimono special on the menu, three rolls for $10.99. So I stayed instead of getting something to go. I was very pleasantly surprised at how generous the rolls were. A little rice and a lot of filling, and not the other way around. Pictured here, left to right is the Crazy Maki, tuna and avocado, and spicy tuna. The Crazy Maki is tempura shrimp and avocado with a spicy sauce. They were all delicious and again the amount of filling was very satisfying. So it was a great price for what I got, and I will definitely be back!

    The buffet.

I don't know who these people are that are complaining about a 'small' buffet. It kind of feels like they are either shills or have an axe to grind. I included a picture of the buffet so you can judge for yourself; as I have seen truly small buffets with only 4-5 dishes. Maybe these people think every buffet is supposed to be Golden Corral. In any case, the food is of good quality. I wouldn't call it great, but for the price it IS a great value. I would recommend this place to any hungry person on a budget, or not.

Spicy tuna maki, fried chicken wings, and Singapore mei fun.

I am so glad Yutaka reopened! They no longer have the buffet, but they are open for takeout and dine-in from their takeout menu. The food was plentiful and decently priced. I hope one day they can reopen their buffet but until then I will be ordering takeout from them in an effort to support Yutaka!

    Buffet Food

went during dinner service( 6pm) food was definitely fresh and hot but didn't really taste as good. The workers will stare at you when your eating , kinda made me uncomfortable. Cheap food.

**NOTE: Review is for a weekend night dinner! ** This place I find is a rare gem of a buffet. I've been to many in the Boston area and this place wins in regards to value. While it's your typical Chinese buffet, I find the selection quite wide and varied compared to most Chinese buffets. In addition to this, the food is frequently replenished and quite tasty! The sushi selection is also decent (and includes hand rolls too!) which is something I find unexpected for a Chinese buffet. However, the best part is without a doubt the price. For a weekend dinner, the cost is a mere $14.99 per person. To me that's incredible especially since they had crawfish and seafood options when I was here tonight! 5/5 would recommend!

Today is 9/16/24. Are there still crab legs and crawfish as an option at the buffet? And if so is there butter? I'm trying to find a good buffet w crawfish and snow crab legs. Haven't tried either but I'm DYING to try them. Thanks!

I have never seen crab legs there in the 5 or 10 years that I've been frequenting this location however they do have crawfish constantly.

The tables are adorned with beautiful artwork which was a nice touch and staff was friendly. The biggest negative was a majority of the food being closer to cold than hot and warm. This was disappointing due to us being there at what seemed like a busy time. Also along the lines of the food nothing we had really wowed us either. I would best describe it all as average hence the three stars. The prices were reasonable with the pina colada being under 10, that was a surprise. Overall, if you are like my wife and I, looking for a quick bite without a wait this may be your spot to check out.

As other…read morereviewers mentioned they sometimes change you more per pound (if you're paying per pound) if you have "more meat than buffet items." I tried to balance out my plate to be half and half and scored the 14.49 rate but if the staff thought I had too much meat I would have paid 19.99 per pound instead. lol. Otherwise I was a fan, the meat was tender juicy and flavorful (especially the steak) and the buffet items were really good as well (polenta and fried plantains were standouts) The wait staff were just okay, my waitress was just standing near the front and I tried to get her eye contact but that didn't work so when the manager came by to check on me (she didn't) I asked him if he could send her to pay. Overall a decent experience but because of their pricing model I won't likely come again.

Service, once we were seated, was attentive, food was good. They could have done a better job at keeping the buffet options stalked, they were out of 3 options. This is definitely a more casual place, no frills and closer to an everyday Brazilian churrascaria. Overall, it was fine, if I were in the neighborhood and looking for a bite, I would stop in again.

I would tell anyone that doesn't like incredibly fatty meat, or that likes their food cooked beyond medium rare to dine elsewhere. The hostess was friendly, we told her we had never been to the restaurant before, she quickly walked us thru the menu. Our waiter came by, we told him we had never been there before. We ordered various dishes, and plates of meat were dropped off. No explanation whatsoever. As he turned to leave, I said again, we'd never been there before. No insight into how best/long to cook anything. Every meat dish was incredibly fatty, like, 2/3rds fat. I placed meat on the grill, it cooked very slowly. I asked him to turn up the temperature as we liked our meats cooked well, so he turned the heat up. At one point he said he was going to swap out the grill-pan, and turned the heat down, while meats were still cooking. This was incredibly frustrating, I felt like food was taking forever to cook, and the longer I sat there staring at the meat, the more annoyed I got. It was all you can eat. We didn't finish our first order of 5 dishes we were so annoyed. It was not worth the money, it was an unejoyable experience. I've only been to a few self-cook Korean restaurants previously, and generally liked them. Overall, the meat was good, which is what you hope for at a Brazilian steakhouse. The lamb is always a hit, but the steak was also nicely cooked and perfectly salted. However, some of the items at the buffet bar were underwhelming and didn't quite match the quality I've experienced before. The cheese bread was cold, and the fried yucca lacked flavor. A few other buffet items also felt like they had been sitting out for a while. The total came to about $135 (before tip) for what we ordered, which felt steep given the food quality and overall experience. In hindsight, I wish I had asked for an itemized receipt to better understand how everything was priced. Service was mixed. The guy carving the meat was excellent and definitely a highlight, but beyond that, the service was pretty meh. All things considered, I'd probably skip the East Boston location next time and head back to Oliveira's in Somerville, where the food and service have consistently been better. The problems started before I even arrived. I was traveling from Logan Airport and followed Encore's own website instructions for the shuttle. Those instructions were wrong. Because the hotel had not updated its posted pickup location, I spent roughly an hour walking around downtown Boston in the rain trying to find the shuttle. I called twice for help and spoke with two different representatives, both of whom were deeply uninterested and unable or unwilling to provide useful assistance. When I finally found the correct shuttle area, I waited even longer in the rain, only for the driver to tell me and two other passengers that we needed to get on a different shuttle that was already pulling away from the curb. We literally had to chase it down to catch it. Because of this, I missed a work meeting. Unfortunately, arriving at the hotel did not improve the experience. After standing in an excessively long check-in line, I finally got to the front desk, where the staff confidently insisted that I needed to pay the full room amount, even though my company had already paid for the reservation. At that point I was exhausted, wet, and late, so I paid it just to get into the room. Now my office manager is having to argue with the hotel because staff are apparently claiming I never had a reservation at all -- which is especially strange given that I am currently sitting in the room, and we have an emailed receipt showing that the room was already paid for. Even worse, the staff member speaking with my office manager has reportedly been snarky, condescending, and dismissive while she tries to resolve a problem created by the hotel's own systems. Rather than helping investigate the discrepancy, he appears to be treating her as though she is confused or incompetent. That is unacceptable customer service under any circumstances, but it is especially galling when she is the one trying to clean up Encore's billing and reservation mistake. This was not one minor inconvenience. It was a cascade of failures: incorrect transportation instructions, unhelpful phone support, chaotic shuttle coordination, a missed business meeting, a miserable check-in process, an apparent duplicate charge, and now a billing/reservation dispute being handled with condescension instead of professionalism. For a hotel that markets itself as a luxury resort, this was genuinely embarrassing. Nothing about this experience felt organized, hospitable, or guest-focused. It felt like a high-end property with low-end operations and staff who could not be bothered to solve problems they helped create. Encore Boston Harbor may be a great place to stay if you enjoy being wet, late, overcharged, dismissed, and treated like an inconvenience. I will not stay here again, and I would strongly caution business travelers against relying on this hotel for anything that requires competent logistics, accurate billing, or basic customer service. Beautiful building. Broken operation. Absolutely not worth the aggravation.
