We had a very good lunch here last Sunday. We were the only ones dining in at the time, so it was like having our own private restaurant. There were a few folks doing take out while we were there, also. Turns out most folks come for dinner or during the week for their discounted lunch specials. We chose their combo that on the weekends is also the combo offered at dinner. It included soup, a choice of rolls, an entree, and dessert. And a full pot of hot tea. To start I had their wonton soup. My husband had their hot n sour soup and said it was one of the best he's had in south Florida. After that he had a spring roll that he liked. I had their egg roll which I liked. For our entrees, he chose pork szechuan style and white rice (you could also get brown or fried rice). It had a slight spicy kick. There were cabbage slices, bok choy, red peppers and other vegetables in with the pork. I had the cashew dish with pork. Note that I got the cashews on the side and added them in after the picture I posted. There was squash, carrots, and snow pea pods with the pork in a brown sauce. Both of us really liked our meals and took half home. For dessert, he chose pineapples pieces and I had their pistachio ice cream. There was a lot of food. And everything was done just right. We had good friendly service and felt very welcome even though we were dining in an empty room. We will definitely return here in the future. read more

The food smelled amazing as soon as I walked through the door, the service was fase and freindly. Not to mention they had amazing art displayed on the wall. I like that everything was clean. I've heard amazing things about this place, so I met a friend here for lunch. Wow, they really exceeded even my expectations! The food was super fresh and absolutely delicious. The dumplings and spare ribs were flavorful and not greasy (some places fail there - this was awesome). The staff was incredibly friendly, making the experience even better. Avoid this place. Extremely rude service and they usually always forget something from your order when you order takeout. I ordered takeout on Christmas. When I arrived to pick it up, I asked if I could add soup to my order. The lady laughed really hard and said no we are busy. When I said I was going to leave a detailed review based on her rude response, the lady asked me what size soup I wanted. When I got home, I noticed they were missing two dinner dishes. I called back and was told it would take about an hour and a half to make the food they forget to give me. This wasn't the first negative experience. The food is very expensive & sucks. Shrimp tempura isn't even tempura...it's just flour dredged & not crispy...has no tempura flakes or sauce that comes with it from every other place. The walnut shrimp are not crusted with crushed walnuts like they're supposed to be & the sauce wasn't great either. They charged $20 for the dish & we got 7 shrimp with a ton of veggies. I usually pay around $16/$17 for this dish in expensive cities like NYC & San Francisco & it's delicious & you get around 12 shrimp of the same size. Even the fried noodles weren't as good as other places, which I don't understand how you can even screw up. You have to pay for spicy mustard which is ridiculous. I was willing to pay their high prices for good food but this was awful & they gauge you with the menu prices which are higher than good places and by charging for condiments usually included. We had a nice dinner at the China Lane. Traditional Chinese food with decent portion sizes in a pleasant atmosphere. The white tablecloths added a classy touch but the overall look of the restaurant was a bit dated. The servers were friendly and accommodating, which isn't always the case in Chinese restaurants. A couple of us ordered the kung pow chicken combination with wanton soup, egg roll, and fried rice. The spiciness level for each entrée was just what we requested. The mix of veggies and chicken was appropriate and the brown sauce was good. I had the pineapple fried rice, which normally comes with a mix of chicken and shrimp. I requested all chicken. Rather than substituting chicken for the shrimp, I believe the shrimp was simply not included. As a result, the amount of chicken was less than I expected. Overall, the dish tasted good though. One person ordered the pork lo mein combination and he was satisfied with the quality and quantity of the food. The egg rolls were large and not too greasy. The wanton soup was good. We enjoyed a variety of ice cream flavors for dessert, including a scoop of sugar-free chocolate chip that was surprisingly good. Overall, a decent meal at a reasonable price, especially for the combination offerings. The restaurant wasn't crowded so there was no wait for a table. Is it the best Chinese food in town? Probably not. But it satisfied our craving, and we have some leftovers to enjoy later. read more

Just gave this restaurant a try and it failed miserably. The food was bland, dry and didn't have any tasty Chinese flavors. The orange chicken was soggy and tasteless. The fried rice was like yellow rice without any seasoning and flavor. The beef lo mein was just as bad and the egg rolls also had no flavor. So this review is overdue, went here for dinner with family on Christmas. Service was understandably rough, it was incredibly busy. The only thing that I ate that was good was the spareribs which was our appetizer (4 to an order). Otherwise the food was mediocre at best. The garlic sauce was sweet and had no spice to it. We have been here many times. Our waitress always has a pleasant smile and is very attentive. We usually order dishes we have before such as moo shu chicken, boneless spare ribs, chicken in garlic sauce, wonton soup and egg rolls. Everything is always good and hot. I am not sure why the owner built a bar there. I have never seen anyone sitting there and cannot recall seeing any diners order an alcoholic beverage. We actually order out every Easter as a tradition and know we can rely on same quality of food, packaging, and customer service each time we order. However, many of the basic items I've tried definitely lacked in flavor (fried chicken, scallops, fried rice, egg rolls). A bit overpriced as well for the amount of food on your plate. The midnight steak and pepper steak did have some flavor to it, but it was nothing to really celebrate. This restaurant is not terrible for a quick bite in the area. I have been dining periodically for the last 20yrs to this local restaurant in my neighborhood and did not find the atmosphere particullary great or inspiring, just a local place to get a decent inexpensive meal. Then came the Pandemic. The current owners took this downtime to upgrade the restaurant, redecorate the interior and construct divider walls to make the place more intimate and added new and delicious items to the menu that were truly delicious and nothing I had seen in any similar type place. My partner and I ate their the other night and were happy with the experience to the point I had to spread the word out to the rest of the world. On Christmas we ordered takeout through Door Dash from China Lane. We were to pick it up. Our confirmation stated the food would be ready at 6:05. It was a zoo at the restaurant. I was not surprised to learn there would be a delay, but I never expected that we would not get our food for 2 hours. It was finally ready at 8:05. People who dined in were seated long after our arrival, served and finished before our takeout was ready. One of the dishes we ordered was Mou Shu chicken. When we got home, we found no hoisin sauce or pancakes. We made do with the duck sauce. Today, the 26th, we stopped by to let them know about their error. The response we received was that on holidays they do not provide hoisin sauce or pancakes--something never conveyed to us. So the food is ok, nothing special, but definitely avoid the restaurant on any special days if you decide to eat at the mediocre restaurant. We will never dine there again. read more
