The lobster appetizer was phenomenal. The chicken oysters, I personally don't see the hype there but the potato served with them is both the crispiest and the softest potato I've ever eaten. The short rib entree with mole sauce was as tender and flavorful as can be. The local jerk swordfish was cooked perfectly and everything on that plate together created wonderful bites. Cornbread dessert was my choice, I love cornbread and that hit the mark with the blueberry compote and ice cream. One nitpick, and this is absolutely a nitpick. The string lights that hang down the wall to the tables are filthy. So dirty they looked like twine rope. Now that didn't change my experience or make me question the cleanliness of the kitchen at all. That food was perfect. And I wouldn't lower my rating .1 because of it I would go back to driftwood more frequently if my schedule fit their hours better, this place is top notch. The chicken was so incredibly tender that I could cut it with my fork. Y'all... I'm not exaggerating. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted immediately, which is almost always a great sign when it comes to customer service. Since I was dining solo, I didn't want to take up an entire table, so I opted to sit at the bar. The bartenders were fantastic. They were extremely knowledgeable about the menu, made excellent suggestions, and took the time to explain the dishes. My dirty martini was made exactly how I requested it -- Ketel One, in & out, bruised. My only suggestion would be to add REAL blue cheese-stuffed olives. That would have taken my martini experience from great to over the top. My glass never sat empty, and the bar back was on top of everything, making sure I never had to sit there with dirty dishes in front of me. Every single person I interacted with was friendly and welcoming. Even the other patrons at the bar were wonderful. They welcomed me into the conversation and started telling me about their favorite dishes. I plan on trying every single thing they recommended... eventually. I just have to get past my current chicken obsession first. Seriously, it is THAT good, y'all. The bar itself is intimate and quaint, which I really enjoyed. My only minor complaint is that the bar stools could definitely be more comfortable -- especially if you're planning to sit and enjoy a few courses (or, in my case, develop an emotional attachment to the chicken). Overall, they absolutely have me as a loyal customer. I'll be bringing my family here when they come to town, and since I work nearby, I regularly recommend this place to my residents as well. We came here with our college-aged daughter and had a really enjoyable evening. The atmosphere is lively, with an EDM soundtrack that gives the restaurant a fun, club-like vibe. We never felt rushed and had plenty of time to look over the menu before ordering. We started with the Steak Tartare, served with beer-battered smoked onion petals, truffle, egg yolk, and manchego. It was excellent and one of the highlights of the meal. We also tried the Za'atar Roasted Local Vegetables with spicy greens, feta tzatziki, lime pickles, and pepitas. It was good, but it wasn't my favorite dish. For our entrées, one person ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese with pork and beef ragu, housemade raw milk ricotta, and Parmigiano-Reggiano. It was rich, comforting, and absolutely delicious. We also ordered the Jerk Local Swordfish from Fort Lauderdale with braised Swiss chard, local radish escovitch, and jackfruit miso beurre blanc. While the swordfish itself was cooked well, I wasn't a fan of the jerk seasoning. The flounder, however, was outstanding and probably my favorite entrée. To drink, I had the Les Fumées Blanches Orange Sauvignon Blanc, which I really enjoyed. Someone else had an Old Fashioned. For dessert, we shared the Affogato with mascarpone ice cream, dark chocolate, and espresso, and it was a perfect ending to the meal. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and we appreciated being able to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. It is on the pricey side, but that's fairly typical for a farm-to-table restaurant using quality ingredients. There's a small parking lot behind the restaurant, and we were lucky enough to grab a spot. Overall, it's a fun place for a date night or a nice dinner with family. Today is my fiancés birthday, and I took him to Driftwood to celebrate. Neither of us had been there so I was excited. They have a really nice outdoor seating area,complete with heaters when needed. We chose to dine inside. The vibe inside the restaurant was kind of a boho rustic feel, and I really liked it. Soft lighting and music really set the tone. We were immediately greeted by our server, Gustavo, and given our menus. We don't drink, but they had a nice selection of drinks, cocktails and spirits. We decided to start with the sweet and sour cauliflower. It was absolutely delicious! Cauliflower battered and fried and tossed in a sweet and sour sauce. For our entree we shared the 44oz Creekstone ribeye. It was served with charred broccolini and and a fried airy potato side dish that was out of this world! The steak came sliced and off the bone, so it was perfect for sharing. It was served with 3 toppings; a horseradish sauce, a balsamic glaze, and delicious mixture of sliced peppers. Our steak was cooked perfectly, and seasoned well. We did not have dessert there, as we had a birthday cake at home. And I feel remiss that I didn't even look to see what they had. I was telling my boyfriend in south america we eat plantains like this, "pintones" between still being toston and a little hint of sweetness. It was so good i had to order one for myself, didn't want to share anymore Lionfish ceviche was also a repeated item. This had flavour, had citrus, had balance of the fresh fish. It is a must. The tartare came in a grilled onion peel, which made it so good since it is sweet and the tartare has its steak flavor. It was really good. We came for their Happy Hour, and Driftwood truly stands out from other restaurants. The difference between a craft cocktail and a basic mixed drink is exactly what sets them apart. Their Mother of Dragons is hands down the BEST cocktail I've ever had. They make the dragon fruit juice fresh, strain it, and finish it with black volcanic salt around the rim, topped with a slice of dragon fruit for presentation. Such a nice touch. The service was excellent--attentive without being overbearing. The sweet and sour cauliflower was our favorite appetizer. Spending two weeks in South Florida for work, my wife and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary at Driftwood simply because of its high rating online. Walking in, the design looks like a more upscale Applebee's, but once the food came, we were won over. Here's our experience. 1) Food: The menu changes often as they try to source from local farmers. To feed us both, we ordered the Boudin Balls, Okra, Milk Bread, Ceviche, and the Roasted Cabbage Red Curry. Everything single dish was presented well and the unique flavors worked well with the texture. The standouts were the Ceviche with passion fruit and the Roasted Cabbage. Our eight-year-old daughter appreciated the kids menu. The pasta is a large portion and she devoured it. For dessert, we all got the brownie. We weren't sad about it. 2) Drinks: The margarita with a tajin rim was refreshing and my wife enjoyed the Old Fashioned. For our second drink, we got their two Sauvignon Blancs, including the orange one from France. Our daughter enjoyed her lemonade. 3) Service: From start to finish, it was excellent. This was a nice portion and luscious to the last bite. We also had decaf cappuccino which was served in a small coffee cup. It hit the spot! We sat outside on the beautifully decorated for the holidays deck. It was whimsical. The place was extremely busy- their parking lot was full but I was lucky to get a spot at the Sherwin Williams lot next door. The venue is directly on Federal Highway and you can hear the cars whizzing by. However they have a natural fence separating the street from the patio. The noise factor wasn't that much of an issue. The pricing is a bit on the high side, however they are part of the InKind community. This is an app which doesn't cost a penny to its customers. However it saves you 20% on every meal. Driftwood prides itself as a destination for fresh, locally sourced food and drinks. We went with a group of 6 and were pleased with the freshness and creativity of the dishes. The restaurant has a rustic, cozy feel with dark wood and dim lighting. It also offers comfortable outdoor seating, which is surrounded by greenery but is still on a fairly busy street (Federal Hwy) We ordered a variety of drinks from the happy hour menu, including old fashion cocktails and the popular Simple Pleasure, consisting of vodka, lavender and lemon. It was declared a winner by our group! I had the throwback beer of my youth: Pabst Blue Ribbon. After paying the check, I realized that I was charged the regular price for the PBRs rather than the happy hour price, even though we ordered our drinks well before the end of happy hour. We enjoyed several appetizers. One person had the fried chicken oysters, which were tasty although they appeared to be deep fried. One person enjoyed a nice salad made with local veggies and a pleasant citrus vinaigrette dressing. And another person thoroughly enjoyed the dry rubbed chicken wings. I had an empanada, which contained very tender shredded beef and a nice crema on the side. The menu stated that the empanada included mozzarella cheese, which I did not see either in or on it. Our entrees included the red snapper, NY strip steak, grilled chicken breast and the short ribs. Our server, Mara, explained that the short rib portion was fairly small, and we appreciated the forewarning. Indeed, it was a small entree albeit flavorful. In contrast, the strip steak was a nice size portion. All of the meals came with interesting and flavorful sides. For example, the chicken breast was accompanied by black eyed peas and escarole. I had the hamburger, which came with a nice size portion of fries. I was a bit disappointed with the burger as it was overcooked (medium-well rather than medium) and tasted too salty. It came with a tangy mayo-based "special sauce", which helped improve the overall taste. We ordered a couple of desserts, including a surprisingly delicious warm, crunchy cornbread, which comes with blueberries and a scoop of ice cream. Fabulous flavor combo! The other dessert was a creative variation of a s'more with local dark chocolate made into a dense cake topped with toasted marshmallow meringue and a honey streusel. It was served with passion fruit ice cream. Amazing! Overall, we had a nice meal with great service by our server, Mara. The restaurant pricing is a bit upscale. Went to Driftwood with a few friends after work and we shared the smoked deviled eggs along with the award sweet and sour cauliflower before ordering mains. The menu had a lot of interesting options, but those two ended up being the highlights for our table. The deviled eggs had a subtle smoky flavor that worked really well without being overpowering. So many textures and flavors, and not just the same beef rib and mash that so many places tend to serve. It felt really elevated with each unique vegetable and with thinly sliced and well-fried okra strips. If you want something hearty, try the rigatoni. Plate is massive and dad liked it. The side salad was good, fresh greens...maybe a touch too much dressing but it was a nice citrus vinaigrette. They change the menu almost daily based on local food and seasonal availability (with some staples almost always on the menu.) and everything is from Florida. Love to support a spot like this. All servers are very knowledgeable and amenable to any changes. They are aware of allergy friendly options as well. This place is pretty farm to table so the menu changes pretty often. There was more variety when I went in the spring vs the winter. Which is understandable. I did expect more root vegetables but I will say the beets were amazing the ceviche was very good. The dry rub wings were fine but usually I'm not a huge fan of dry rub wings and I did like them. The drinks are amazing every single time though, and they come in fun glasses if you ask the servers they can serve any drink in those glasses. My husband and I had originally planned to dine elsewhere, but the stellar reviews and mouthwatering photos convinced us to give Driftwood a try--and we're so glad we did. The dining room was full around 8 PM, but we found our favorite kind of seating: bar-side. It turned out to be the best choice. Not only did we get to interact with the amazing bartenders and watch drinks being crafted with precision, but it also set the tone for a fun, intimate evening. Service: Gustavo and his team were top-notch. Attentive without hovering, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. They picked up on our personalities and elevated our experience with personal recommendations, flair in their cocktail making (hello, videos!), and real passion for what they do. Food: The shrimp & grits (accommodated without sausage) were divine--shrimp that melted like butter with a perfect, balanced seasoning. We also tried the sheepshead fish entrée--flaky, tender, and kissed with sea essence, paired beautifully with mushrooms and root vegetables as our side. While we wished for a touch more roasted veg, the garnish and plating were spot-on. The milk bread with whipped butter (and a bonus taste of their beef pollen) was airy, warm, and incredibly satisfying. And then came dessert... the Dulce de leche ice cream sandwich was the perfect finale. Housemade caramel, creamy ice cream, and rich chocolate layers that didn't crumble. Just wow. Cocktails: This bar team knows their bourbon. * I started with the Porch Sipper--balanced, smooth and a perfect starter. * My husband chose the Praline Old Fashioned, which had the perfect smoky touch. * For dessert, we let the bartenders crafted surprise drinks: * He got The Kraken--served in a shark-shaped glass, full of character and flavor. * I had the Passion Project, a yet-to-be-released gem that converted me into an egg-white cocktail fan for the first time ever. It was THAT good. Final Thoughts: From the curated menu (which we loved--fewer choices, higher quality) to the thoughtful presentation and welcoming vibe, Driftwood is the kind of place that deserves to be on every foodie's radar. Even as we were among the last guests of the night, the energy never dipped. The hospitality remained warm and unrushed, right through closing. This is not just a restaurant--it's an experience. Having only ever heard wonderful and amazing things about Driftwood I chose it as my birthday dinner spot, and though some things were good, nothing was great enough for me to plan a repeat visit. Walking in, we were immediately confronted with a jarring contrast. Driftwood is gorgeous! Soft lighting, wood, and comfortable seating clashed almost violently with the over amplified sound system destroying any semblance of the intimate quiet evening we had in mind. The live music was better, but again too loud for those trying to just have a quiet dinner. Our very friendly server greeted us immediately, and explained right up front that a 20% service fee is added to all bills so tipping is not required, then described their farm to table mentality and the garden growing on premises. Cocktails were creative, presented beautifully and super tasty. An appetizer of oysters on the half shell seemed like a great idea, however the delicate briny flavor of oysters was overwhelmed by a frozen lime granita, which was fragrant and delicious to be sure, but the shellfish was lost. We also got the sweet & sour cauliflower, which every review touts as the best thing since sliced bread, and it was good, definitely the best thing we ate tonight, but even if was just good, nothing I'd come back for. The lovely Spensyr had the chicken and dumplings, delicious, creamy, but almost completely taken over by an overabundant garnish of fresh dill. It was good, but way too much. My bolognese on the other hand was just slightly underwhelming, the meat was tender, the pasta was perfect, but the dish came lacking salt whatsoever. Elevated dining with local flair -- Driftwood nails it. I had an incredible experience at Driftwood in Boynton Beach. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was welcoming, modern, and relaxed. It was the perfect setting for a chef-driven meal. Led by Chef Jimmy Everett, the menu is full of bold, creative dishes using fresh, local ingredients. I started with the Mother of Dragons cocktail, which was smoky, fruity, and perfectly balanced. The Paradise Punch mocktail was equally refreshing and vibrant. Appetizers were a standout: the Steak Tartare was rich and topped with crispy onion petals and manchego, the Fish Ceviche was bright and zesty with passionfruit and sweet potato gazpacho, and the Fried Chicken Oysters with hibiscus watermelon were totally unexpected and delicious. For entrées, the New York Strip was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor, while the Mutton Snapper from Key West was beautifully plated with fresh, seasonal accompaniments. Everything was executed with precision. We ended on a sweet note with a warm Brownie topped with ice cream. Simple, but so satisfying. Driftwood is easily one of the best spots in Palm Beach County. Driftwood is our #1 favorite restaurant in Palm Beach County. The food here is always fresh and we love how the menu is different daily. We love the staff here! The restraint has outdoor seating and indoor. Super clean, nice big parking lot. Our favorite menu items: Chicken wing, comes with a delicious crema and it's topped with cheese Crispy cauliflower, I've never tasted an appetizer of this kind like this one. Super crispy and loaded with flavor. All the steaks specials they have here are amazing. Cooked extremely will with top tier beef. Dessert never disappoints.
