I had a very disappointing experience with China Lily in Ocoee. I ordered the Orange Chicken lunch plate with special fried rice for pickup and got something completely wrong. The chicken was dry and tasted old, and instead of the rice I ordered, they gave me chow mein. The egg rolls were completely burnt. It felt like they just packed whatever was available without checking the order. If you're ordering takeout, open the bag and check everything before leaving. My husband and I have eaten here quite a few times. It's usually very good! I'd love to see the peas better hydrated/cooked in the rice. They are not the right texture. I ordered from here tonight based on some of the reviews on Google and was genuinely excited to try it out. To be honest I was very disappointed. I ordered a traditionally "safe meal," pork fried rice and chicken wings. I was actually pretty upset that I spent approx $12, which is a bit on the pricey side for this meal. Order came with a decent serving of rice, which was tasty, but unfortunately that needed to be reheated (I live 4 mins from the restaurant so no way it got cold THAT fast.) I was shocked to see that the meal only came with 2 full chicken wings cut in half. 2!! Typically orders at other restaurants come with 4 full wings and at a lesser price point. Didn't really matter anyway because I actually didn't even eat the chicken because they had a smell to them (slightly like old wet towel) which made me nervous, so I ended up tossing them out and just eating some of the rice as my dinner. Furthermore I wasnt impressed with the quality of the egg roll. Normally they are full of pork (pink bits)and cabbage and idk what was in this one because it was white (some pork is white, so could be that) but it didn't taste like much, just oil. So I also tossed that out. I really wanted to like this place because Ive lived in the area for about a year and have yet to find a decent chinese place. I may try again and try something else because one bad meal isnt the determining factor. But as far as this particular meal is concerned, I will never get this here again. This is a typical small Chinese restaurant in a strip mall. It offers a very comprehensive menu. Although they have a good size dining area, they seem to be focused on takeout. I wasn't a big fan of the interior, so I ate at one of the two tables on the front walkway, which was very pleasant. My food was extremely fresh and hot, obviously prepared to order. The eggroll was nice and crispy, with lots of fresh veggies inside that weren't overcooked. The small portion of boneless ribs was very generous, and good quality. Pork lo mein was also pretty good and certainly hot, but I might have something more interesting next time. We ordered some chicken on a stick, curry fried rice and hunan beef. The chicken was overdone and dry. Very chewy. The curry fried rice wasn't horrible but I could probably make better. The meat portions in the fried rice wasn't horrible. The hunan beef was not something to call home about. Fairly mediocre food to be honest but definitely not worth the price. Was craving some lo mein at my friends house so I jumped onto Yelp delivery. They had decent ratings so I went ahead and ordered. The delivery took about an hour which was more than I expected, and I was HANGRY. Normally anything tastes amazing after that long of a wait. But the noodles were dry and lacked flavor. Hardly made a dent in it. The egg drop soup was like any other- nothing fantastic, but good. Overall, would not order again. The delivery time + food quality just isn't worth it. There are no plates here, all of the food served in "To Go" containers. Ordered Lunch Special Szechuan Beef with white rice, spring roll, and won-ton soup. The food came out promptly. The soup broth had a strange taste, like it was not fresh at all. The won-tons seemed over cooked. The spring roll was cold and I had to ask for a replacement. When it came out I it was hot but it was filled with what tasted like stringy old cabbage. The Szechuan Beef was hot and spicy and the beef was very tender. But the sauce was watery and should have been thicker. The rice was okay but not great. Next time I want Chinese I will find a different restaurant. read more

I've ordered from China Lily several times, have always enjoyed the food, and have had a consistently good experience. Primarily gotten takeout and the food is always hot when I get home. Enjoyed every dish I've gotten and the customer service has always been great. Their prices are very reasonable. The one time I've dined in, the restaurant was nothing spectacular - it's a bit of a hole in the wall. Again, the customer service was good. From what I've read of other reviews, I'm not sure they always offer dine in. I ordered the Orange Chicken and it was wayyyy too spicy. It was so spicy it had no other flavor. I tried to salvage it by put in a little orange juice and it didn't help at all! Believe It Or Not, I really do hate to be the table challenge at a restaurant but oh well, sometimes you just have to go for it! I actually preferred the prevailing egg taste to that of the won ton critter for the first time in many decades, of my limited chinese dining. I choose the Beef n' Broccoli in brown sauce entree. This was a good entree. The beef was tender and the broccoli was steamed to my favored degree of firmness with an easily yielding texture. Their seasonings, though hard to deconstruct on my palate, were very delicious in this entree! Perhaps a ting of star anise was in there? Whatever, it pleasantly gonged my yum-yum sensibility enough to box up the excess portion for a lunch. Had it for lunch next day after supplementing with some more of my chopped up broccoli and - gee, I saved an $8.00 lunch. Well, actually made the dinner cost a little more reasonable. Good stuff. The China Lilly offers some of the best Chinese food I've had in a long time and the service on my visits have been excellent. Let's start with the egg rolls. They are not the usual tasteless greasy cylinders that most other places serve. These egg rolls are very flavorful and addictive! One one of my visits I had the boneless spareribs, which was a very generous serving of tender chunks of pork in a delicious sauce. The accompanying fried rice was also superb. For Mother's Day this past weekend, my family wanted to take me out to lunch so I, of course, picked the China Lilly. This time I tried the Cantonese duck, which surprisingly didn't take as long to cook as we anticipated. The crispy skin and succulent meat was greatly complimented by the curried rice we orderd. My husband had the crispy beef which has also become a favorite of ours. And - my favorite part of all - they give you Dove chocolate samples along with the usual fortune cookies when it comes time for the bill. Definitely worth checking out. read more
