The young girl practicing piano was very good, however it's such a small place (three tables) it was almost impossible to carry on a conversation. The food was fresh, hot and good. Fresh food, no MSG, family-owned and reasonably priced? Need I say more? I highly recommend! Their spring rolls and crab rangoons are super good, and not greasy. They were gone so quick, I didn't get a chance to take a picture. We love the vegetable lo mein because it's full of fresh broccoli, pea pods, carrots, water chestnuts and cabbage. Wow! Hubby's coworker suggested this place. We've been in Chelmsford 6yrs--never heard of or saw China Mountain.....wish we found it or about it 6yrs ago! Our 1st time trying tonite--PHENOMENAL! So I've been in a hunt to find a new Chinese restaurant with decent food. I think I may have found what I think is pretty good it's just a small little takeout place that's been there forever that I've passed by probably 100 times I had a chance to look at the reviews and said let's give it a shot so the other night we went out got thereis only three tables to my surprise we entered to a young lady, playing the piano quite well. We were greeted by a lady and her children made us feel right at home. We ordered a couple accommodations and we were able to request them the way we wanted them. Food was fine, my issue was with our Mongolian beef. Tried to split it with my wife along with some lo mein and it wasn't even 1 serving of actual beef in total it was 80% onions. I stopped in at China Mountain for lunch takeout recently. I ordered the L15 Shrimp With Vegetables ($6.75) with pork fried rice and chicken fingers, ready to go in under 10 minutes. The portion size of hot food was good, served in a square styrofoam box. The main dish had mostly mixed vegetables (broccoli, onions, green peppers, carrots, mushrooms (preserved)) and a few jumbo shrimp. The pork fried rice had a soft texture with a mix of small roast pork pieces and onions. The three (3) chicken fingers were crisp on the outside and strips of white meat chicken inside. Overall very good....I like the noodles that you get in Chinatown (Boston) better as they are much thinner. These noodles were more like a lo mein than the thin egg noodle I was expecting. Ti used their online ordering tool to order for friends and family. A pretty sizable order. I was significantly disappointed. After encountering issues online, I called to confirm my order was not placed twice. They confirmed my order and that I would not be billed twice. Then over a half hour later they called and told me they did not have my order and asked that I place the order online again. Too late. Dinner plans ruined. Guests and family starving. So very disappointed in their staff and their online ordering tool. I never seem to have a bad meal here. For convenience and price, China Mountain wins with me. Since we moved into the area, we have been searching for the best. There are a lot of Chinese restaurants in the area, so it wasn't an easy task. Driving by this place you would never expect to have decent food. It is a very small take out only type of place, although there are a few tables inside. Parking lot is always empty. So it really was one of the last places we tried. I guess that is typical for take out, no one stays. We are always looking for Chinese as the world in Chelmsford is closing, after 9pm. One night this place was the only one open. We ordered the usual Pu Pu platter and some Lobster sauce. They are the only ones that let you order a 'small' in many things others don't, like the lobster sauce, beef and mushroom, etc. They also have great combo platters for lunch and dinner at some very cheap prices. Example, Fingers, Wings, Spare Ribs, Crab Rangoon, Pork fried rice for only 6.95 available all day every day. Nice order taker, VERY easy parking, quick service at pick up. So far, great! Got home and ate the stuff. Piping hot, almost too hot, and really delicious. Far better than others around here. I think they spend the money they save on ambiance on the food. We thought it may have been a fluke. So we went back again. And again, and again. They are now our default Chinese for take out. read more
