This place is such an amazing spot to have in Lowell. Parking is street parking, and you can pay at the kiosk or through the Passport app. It really depends on when you go since parking can get a little tricky. Inside, it's very cozy and has that Chinese cafe feel. It's clean, and they also have outdoor seating. My favorite are the individual window seats. I like sitting there and people-watching, though it's not exactly the busiest area for people-watching. Soup dumplings? Yes, please. The skin is slightly thicker than the ones I've had in New York, though they're still great. I never just order one thing here. They have a lot of variety with Chinese appetizers, dumplings, noodles, rice, and even mala hot pot. Do not pass up the braised pork rice bowl if you like hearty, authentic Asian dishes. I keep forgetting this place is here until the weather gets colder or I'm craving dumplings. Overall Service: Always so nice. There was one time I was on-call while dining here and got paged, and they helped box everything up for me to take home. I really appreciated that. This place has the best dumplings in the area, their mala stir fry is amazing. A group of friends and I are almost regulars here. But today's experience was sub par to what we are used to. I didn't leave the establishment because I was with others who wanted to enjoy the food. The first issue was we couldn't seat where we wanted, it had to be where the waitress or manager decided we were to seat. Not one client in the restaurant. Then she brought the bill before we requested no one was waiting to be seated, then refused to split the bill when previous times with a different server was not a problem. We split the bill to only 2 because thats all she could do, me paying for 4 people she denies my tip amount and says if I don't tip a 18% , theywill charge me $80 extra for a party of 6, again we were only 4 people. I am very disappointed with my service and treatment, unfortunately I don't know the server name but she is one that speaks more English. Will I go back and be bullied into tipping what they want? In town to see the Mill, etc. Asked a park Ranger for recommendations for lunch and he said "We're not allowed to recommend specific businesses" as he pointed down the street to Tasty Dumplings and winked. Super cute spot with delicious dumplings and noodles. We went on a holiday weekend and it was busy at lunch but we got a table easily. It was a Sunday so the street parking was free which was an added bonus. We ordered 4 types of dumplings and one mala noodle bowl for three people and it was way more than enough food with lots of leftovers. What we got was the mala hot pot noodles with beef, pork soup dumplings, and three sets of the regular dumplings: chicken and corn, beef and flat cabbage, and pork soup dumplings. All were a hit with the noodles and chicken and corn dumplings maybe getting the most top votes in a very close contest. The dumplings came fried except the soup dumplings. Not sure if you can order them unfried but we loved them despite usually being fans of steamed or boiled dumplings. They did them in a kind of unique way that wasn't too heavily fried and had sort of a decorative crisp that you probably have to see to understand, but it was excellent. This was a lot of food as the dumplings are a full meal serving. But leftovers are worth it! The only drawback is the place is a little noising for a small place. If eating in with someone hard of hearing maybe pick a quiet time or seek a quieter spot. read more

I got an order of veggie spring rolls and dumplings. Both were very yummy and a good price for the amount of food I got. The server was nice and attentive and the interior was clean. I will be a repeat customer! I will remove one star because my hot food was served on plastic and I hope that they transition to ceramic since we are starting to be more aware of how plastic impacts hot foods especially (microplastics). Noisy street with ambulances blaring every 5 minutes. Lots of seating, but they are strict. The best item was the pork and cabbage pot stickers. My partner is Chinese, and she was shocked at the quality. We got fried rice to take home, and did not check it... When we got home, the quality was horrid. Panda Express looked and tasted better. I've had every flavor but the shrimp (due to an allergy) and each is delicious, my forever favorite being the beef and flat cabbage. You get eight of them, they're huge and plump, and I'm a big volume eater and rarely make it through them all. The food was great. I got the Braised beef noodle soup and it was bangin'. No question about the cuisine, that doesn't need work. However, the service was subpar. Very subpar. I was rushed to order, hadn't even had my menu for 2 minutes before I got hawked down to order. Then after I paid and left, the server chased me down to leave a tip even though I didn't want to. A go to spot for a good comfort dumpling nearby. This place is usually always pretty quiet so it's easy to get a table and there's street parking. The restaurant is a little cold so if you're planning to come now during winter keep that in mind. They have a clean bathroom and not too many workers, the workers there are more quiet but they are nice and attentive. We almost always get the same order every time we go but this time we decided to add on the pork mini skewers. They were just meat on a toothpick so I wouldn't say it's worth it for $9 it was also a little dry. The hot n sour soup is decent, I wish it was a little thicker though. Never stray away from your usual cause it will not disappoint with the pork and napa potstickers. You can never go wrong with the crispy sides they are the best part. The xiaolongbaos are another must, I'm not always a fan but I love the soup on this one, it's a good combo of sweetness and warmth. My absolute favorite is the spicy mini hotpot, this is perfect to share with another person. Usually get the medium spice which is just a little sting but not too strong where it's overpowering. The noodle choice is perfect and everything works all together. Note the bokchoy comes in the half cut bunch (so one bundle is cut in half) rather than pieces and it has a lot of cabbage. I've tried some of the stir fry noodles and they weren't my favorite, nothing special and didn't add much to the meal. The prices of this place have definitely gone up in the years with the hotpot being $15 and dumplings being $13 and $14. The total for everything was $57 but with leftover pan fried dumplings it's always enjoyable. My sister and I love to come to this place together and would recommend with these orders! read more

We also had scallion pancake (handmade- light, fluffy and crispy in all the right places). The mini hotpot was so good. I'm really torn about this place. The reviews are great and I wanted to give it a better rating but only one of the two of us was happy with what we got on this visit. I had the shrimp and pork dumplings stuffed with sticky rice, which were tasty. I wanted something else so ordered a side of white rice which was a big mistake -- it was clumpy rather than flaky as rice should be. My dining partner struggled with what to get -- I think she was imagining your typical Chinese restaurant fare, my bad for not prepping her -- and settled on a chicken, rice and vegetables dish. It came out room temperature so she sent it back to be heated. It came back hot but that didn't help; the bite-size chicken pieces were overcooked and rubbery, and the rice had no seasoning at all. It literally looked like white rice with chicken bits mixed in and a few rogue vegetables throughout. I don't get to Lowell often but I would return to try some of the other dishes, which looked good as I watched them served to other patrons -- dumplings, noodles, soups. It's a small place and there was a little bit of a wait for a table for two shortly before noon. They didn't want to seat us at the open table for four because it was the lunch rush. Fair, as there was a steady stream of folks coming in, so it seems to be a popular place. There are counters with high chairs but that wouldn't have been comfortable for us. Service was okay... the server was pleasant but rushed. My meal came out about 15 minutes after my companion's, not sure why. We walked over from the quilt museum so I can't comment on parking but it's in a not-too-busy part of town so I imagine it was fine. read more

I'm shockingly surprised that there's so many great reviews about the customer service. Waitress had an attitude when was asked for more spoons as we had a fried rice dish along with other items. She was not attentive if we needed anything during our dining. She was quick to clear our table as we were finishing up and gave us our bill. Bill was paid with a low tip for POOR service. As I was walking towards the door, she rushed over to me and demanded an extra $10 for tip! She also pointed to my wallet and said, "you have cash in there? You need to give me 10 more dollars" Truly embarrassing as she didn't deserve $1 to say the least. Spoke to a rep on the phone and complained and she confirmed that a tip is NOT MANDATORY and they would not ask for a specific amount for tip. If a tip was low, they would ask "How was the service?" This protocol was not followed through with this waitress. She just seeked for more tip. Will NOT be supporting this business anymore due to poor customer service. read more

Was so good. The hubs asked to go back the next day for lunch again since we'd be near by. I enjoyed the pan fried dumplings and my husband loved the general tso chicken. The service was quick and food came out just as fast during our visit. I can see why the place gets a good rating. The food is good.
