I've been s customer for 17 yrs. Last two orders were awful. First time I order pork egg foo young and they delivered pork lo mein. Today I ordered for first time sweet and sour chicken. I received 5 chicken fingers and four wontons with a small cup of sauce. I have never had that as sweet n sour. They said everyone knows that is how their dish is. They offered 10% off next time. Best Chinese in Hudson. Food was fresh warm and delicious. They delivered on Christmas for us. Service was great on both the call and delivery person. I really love that Zheng Garden is a small family-owned business, and I love supporting local businesses, but I have to say I am struggling with the lack of flavor I experienced. Specifically, the general gao chicken, which was quite bland and not spicy, and lo mein, which did not have much flavor. I just placed a small order and it cost me about $17.00. Their prices have increased at least $3 + on average. I don't mind the increase, but when you pay cash they add on a surcharge. Take out Chinese at it's best! Zheng Garden is my favorite take-out Chinese food restaurant in the greater Nashua area. I first ate here back in 2007 and have always felt since then the take-out is simply the best. I have young children and, in the past when we had ordered take-out from other restaurants, the children would leave the table early without finishing their plates. Not so with take-out from Zheng Garden! Our kids stayed at the table and finished their plates and even asked for more! That speaks volumes to the quality of food from Zheng Garden! And to make this review 5 stars, the food quality is matched only by the service of Sally, her husband Dan, and their great staff. Good basic Chinese takeout. We like the Moo Shu pork, the dumplings, Won Ton soup, and various of the Sichuan dishes.

I didn't think it was hard to mess up Chinese food but this was the worst place I've ever been to. I ordered a combo plate which consisted of crab rangoon, pork fried rice and generals chicken. The rice had no flavor whatsoever. The crab rangoon were hard with very little filling and the chicken was so mushy with lots of gristle. It tasted like it was a frozen dinner you'd get at a grocery store. It was the most disappointing meal I've ever had. read more

My family's been going to Zheng Garden for years starting when we lived in Hudson. We recently moved to another town nearby, and we still go to Zheng Garden. The family is really nice and the food is excellent. We love the tofu with ground pork and vegetables. The shrimp egg foo young is also great. read more

I had gotten some gift certificates for this place. Never had it before until yesterday. It was good. So I thought hey lets go back today. I ordered a simple plate, Crab Rangoons, Double Beef teriyaki, and white rice. Not a hard order. But they got it wrong. When getting one beef teriyaki yesterday I got two sticks. So when ordering double you should get 4. well I guess double means one more. So there goes that blows my mind. I have pork fried rice so there goes that. White rice is cheaper so you think you wouldn't mess that one up. I asked for extra duck sauce. Did you know they charge you instead of saying hey its gunna be an extra dollar fifty. They don't care. So now getting back to work and my orders wrong I call. And there solution come back for white rice. No im sorry. No nothing you can come back for white rice. First time ordered and everything was either over cooked or just un-edible. Steak was extra dry I thought it was beef jerky, the general tsoa's chicken was all fat/ poor cuts of chicken. I couldn't even swallow one bite. The lo mien was mediocre, and to be hobest Ive had better Chinese food from the Mall! Every town has a restaurant like Zheng. It's your basic go-to place for quick Chinese takeout, no frills. If you know how to work the system you'll be fine. Otherwise, you'll hate it. Food here varies widely in quality, from good to awful. The trick is to find something that you like and stick to it. Gloppy dishes such as sweet-and-sour or fried chicken-based dishes tend to not fare as well as the simpler meat-and-veggie stir fries. My wife and I have settled on the Hot and Sour Soup, Szechuan Lomein and Pork Moo Shi. The noodles are flavorful and the Moo Shi has lots of veggies. We tend to eat late in the evening, and at those hours have never had to wait longer than 15 minutes for our order. read more

For a small takeout American fusion Chinese food place, this is seriously the best I've been to. Thank you for making General Gao's Tofu!!! It's great to be able to eat there as someone who does not eat meat. My mom and all her coworkers love the boneless spare ribs. My grandmother loves the egg foo yung. For just takeout, this is everyone's favorite as far as I know. My only complaint is that I once went in there to pick up an order that I had called in, and a young boy not older than 10 years old processed my payment. He did a fabulous job, but it was just eerie to me. The place is successful with tons of employees there every time I've been, so why let a young kid process a credit card payment? I'm sure he was just someone's son and not employed there, but I just don't think that should be happening at all. read more

HOLD ON TO YOUR WALLET!!! I ordered $46 worth of food asked for three hot oils and was charged over $2 for them. The food is decent but fairly HI PRICED! You would think some hot oil or duck sauce would not be a problem. I am local and one of the richest families in Hudson seems to be out for your last penny!. They charge $5 dollars for delivery (and it is not listed on the take out menu), the people on the phone suck at taking orders - I had my credit card read back to me outloud and someone must have taken the info because I had 3 bogus charges two days later and had to cancel my credit card. As a restaurant owner myself, I know that customer service can make or break you. It is just as important as the food. Tonight was the first time I ordered from Zheng Garden and it will be the last. I called in a pick-up order and they said it would be 15 minutes. I showed up about 20 minutes later. The lady at the counter asked if I was picking up and I said yes. She asked me to hold on a minute and I said sure. She never asked my name, never asked what I ordered. She turned around and started putting other orders together, 3 to be exact, which took about 5 minutes. Then the phone rang. She took the order on the phone which was about another 1-2 minutes, hung up the phone, turned around and started putting more orders together. By this time I'm getting really annoyed. A couple minutes later, a man came up to the counter and asked the man who came in several minutes after me who was standing behind me in line if he could help him. I'm pretty sure I actually said "Are you kidding me?" out loud because at that point the guy behind me asked if I was helped yet and I said no. Let me say one thing, I work the counter at my restaurant every single day. My number 1 priority is making sure my customers are happy. If I have a customer who just walked in to get a pick-up order, I drop whatever I'm doing to help them and make sure they're in and out as quickly as possible. Never ever would I ever turn around, start doing other things, take phone calls and completely ignore the person. If I did that, I would fully expect them to log onto Yelp, write me an awful review and never return. As it turns out, my order was sitting on the counter in the bag getting cold the whole time I was standing there. I was so aggravated when I left, I decided that no matter how the food was, I was never going back. So on to the food. The Pork Fried Rice was excellent. I really liked it. The Crab Rangoon was awful. The worst I've ever had. It had maybe a quarter of a teaspoon of filling. The Sweet and Sour Chicken (which I get at every Chinese place I go to) was not good. This is going to sound stupid, but the sweet and sour sauce was too sweet. I couldn't eat it. Although I like batter, the chicken fingers were about 90% batter and 10% chicken and flavorless. I got my husband General Tso's Chicken because that's what he always gets. I didn't tell him what it was. When he started eating it, he asked what it was. When I told him, he said "This is not General Tso's Chicken. It tastes like generic Sesame Chicken or Sweet and Sour Chicken." He hated the Crab Rangoon as well and didn't complain about his white rice. I like that the kitchen is open so you can see what's going on. However, I did notice two flies flying in circles in the dining room which is odd since it's the middle of winter. It's too bad that people don't put more effort into customer service. If I had an employee who did that (although I'm assuming this was the owner), it would happen once and only once. If it happened again, they would be fired. I really don't know what other reviewers are talking about when they say this is the best Chinese food ever. Other than the rice, it was below average. In fact, the only reason I gave it two stars was because of the rice. So if you really like Pork Fried Rice and that's all you like and you don't mind being ignored for 10 minutes after you've called ahead so you wouldn't have to wait, you should order from here. It would be nice to have a good Chinese food place in Hudson because the only place I like in the area is in Londonderry and it's kind of a pain to drive there. Based on previous, albeit old, reviews, we expected better from this place. Lots of staff working in the kitchen to prepare meals, so we could see that items were prepared from fresh and not just poured from a bag for the most part. But the true test of any restaurant is in the flavor of their food and Zheng Garden is definitely on the bland side. We likely won't bother with it again. read more

Food is okay, nothing special just ok, prices are high, but my biggest problem is your parking lot. Have your landlord fill the car eating pot holes which have been there since last winter, they don't seem to care about the appearance and it always makes me worry when I see very young children working like adults late into the evening. Just ordered from Zheng Garden last night, we were looking for someplace different since the traffic going to our normal spot was crazy. The food was awesome, wife had the Cashew Chicken combo plate with chicken fingers and pork fried rice, all cooked beautifully and tasting great. I got the ham egg foo young and some egg rolls. I gotta say, the egg foo young brought me back to the days as a kid going with my father to the Singapore, they were cooked perfectly, light, crispy around the edges and not dry at all, the gravy had zero grease floating on it, they were out of this world. The egg rolls were crispy, well stuffed and delicious. Son just wanted a huge order of pork lo mein which again was great, plenty of pork and well cooked. Everything we got made it back home still hot. This is without a doubt my new go to Chinese take out, you can eat there is you want, they have a couple of tiny tables, more for people waiting for pickup but definitely a take out set up. The staff there were pleasant and helpful. The prices were competitive and the food excellent. I have no doubt at all that we will be going back often. for the last 10-12 years we have take out perhaps 50 times. i don't know what has happened recently. the last three orders all wrong. the first of the three orders: steamed chicken with vegatables - no chicken ------i called, they apologized and promised the next order they would give me the chicken and vegatable free; next order - asked for and expected the complimentary chicken and vegatables they failed to include in last order...no chicken and vegatbles. yesterday - no sauce for scallion pancakes; no large white rice...they did for some reason throw in an extra lo mein. i'm sure if what they delivered or didn't deliver was what i wanted it may have tasted good. however, i wasn't interested in this place unloading food that perhaps they were just trying to get rid of. read more

I have been ordering my takeout food from Zheng for a few years and was always happy with the food,but lately things have slipped.I don't know if its because of the ecomony or what.,but things like Egg rolls,Chicken wings,etc,have a set taste,like they were precooked,and left sitting around.When I order food,I want it cooked fresh from scratch.I understand that Fried Rice is cooked ahead,but the above memtioned should always be cooked fresh.They always screw up on the side condiments like mustard sauce,sweet sauce,dry noodles,etc,even if you request ahead,Always check in side of your take out bag.And if they make a mistake in prices its always in there favor..... read more
