I have gone to China Palace for years. I love their food and their service has been great. But today I went August 18th 2022 and I was very appalled at what I saw and what was allowed in the restaurant while I ate my food. I sat in the far back and had a view of the one table where it turned a corner. At the table I was facing I had full view of a mother I am assuming her husband and her child which looked to be a little under 1 years old. He was sitting in one of the high chairs and it seemed to be fine. I got my food and began eating and noticed the child was standing up in the high chair. No one did anything and he just kept standing there messing around. So I looked away because it made me nervous. Then I looked up again and he was standing on the table. Again no one did anything. He proceeded to jump around walk around the table grab the light at the top that was hanging above. Spinning it around and so on. So I looked away because it was very disturbing. Since they were in my full view it's hard not to see what was going on. The parents did nothing to stop it. Then he jumped down in the seat beside his mother and she proceeded to completely remove all of his clothes till he was completely naked. She took off his diaper laid it on the table opened grabbed baby wipes and started wiping his butt throwing them on top of the diaper on top of the table. Now mind you there was poop on it. so then he gets back up on the table completely naked jumping around walking around grabbing the lamp that was hanging again. Then back down on the seat completely naked. Then she laid him down and put a diaper back on him put his clothes back on him. Bye then she got up and walked him down the aisle to the front and I heard him running around a little bit of screaming not bad. Then they came back to the seat. She started to undress him again took off his shirt took off his pants and took off his diaper which was very poopy. She laid it on top of the other diaper on the table. Then she pulled out the baby wipes and started wiping his butt as he stood completely naked beside her. As she wiped the poop which was open for everyone to see She laid it on top of the diaper on the table. She grabbed another one wiping the poop all he stood there beside her laying again onto the diaper. By this time we could smell the poop at our table. She got him dressed and they left. This went on for a good half hour while we ate. The waitress walked by and I was so disgusted I said what is going on with this lady You should not allow her to come in here and do that. And I explained to her what was going on and said that should not be allowed in a restaurant while we're sitting here eating while she's wiping a baby's butt standing up beside her and the baby's naked and climbing all over the table and so on and so forth. Her reply was well she's a regular customer. That's it That's what she said. I said it doesn't matter if she's a regular customer or not she should not be allowed to do that. I said it's very disgusting and I can't believe you're allowing it. So they gathered up their things and walked away with this big pile of poopy diapers and wipes on top of the table. I wasn't the only one that saw it. There was another booth beside me and I had a friend with me also. It makes me sick that that was allowed because she's a regular customer. I mentioned that that place better be completely sanitized because of that. I watched her go over after they left and sanitize everything. And it made me wonder what the table was like when I sat down where I was eating. Had that lady in her child sat there before? That was so disgusting I don't know if I'm ever going to go back and everybody I know is going to hear the story of what I saw today. I'm completely disgusted that that was allowed to go on. So there you go I know this will probably not even be put up I don't know. But I'm calling the better Business bureau about it. read more

I ordered their take out special for one in which you get to choose type of soup, 2 entrees and includes chow mein or fried rice, all for $13.50. Plus they give you a yellow rice with bits of pork and some garnish on top. They certainly give you plenty of food but it's of a low quality. I ordered sweet and sour pork which was nothing but battered chunks of pork with some kind of barbecue sauce on it. No chunks of fruit. My other entree was General Tso's chicken. Again, deep fried chunks of chicken with a spicy sauce. They seem to really do a slap-dash job on take out orders and this meal gave me terrible heartburn in spite of my taking my usual acid reflux medicine at least an hour before eating it. Maybe they do a better job on orders in and this was a Saturday night and they were very busy but I'm reluctant to go again after this first visit. Wonderful Buffet, just down the street on Meridian is better and slightly less expensive. read more

My husband and I decided to try this place after hearing a bunch of his co-workers raving about it. The atmosphere was nice and I liked the decor. The service wasn't bad either, but the food... Well, I suppose it wasn't the worst Chinese food I've ever had, but it definitely wasn't good. I ordered the lo mein noodles and they were incredibly greasy and tasted a bit off... I can't recall what my husband ordered, but I remember us both thinking the same thing about his meal as well. Another thing that really bother me is that most Chinese restaurants usually serve a sort of sweet red sauce with some spicy mustard in a little bowl (often times with sesame seeds sprinkled on top) along with your meal for dipping. Well this place didn't, and that's fine, but when I asked the waitress if they had any, she looked at me a bit strangely and said, "You mean ketchup and mustard?" That's literally what she brought me. Granted it did come with spicy mustard, so they at least got that part right, but you could tell the ketchup had just been squeezed from a bottle. I'm sorry, but ketchup is not what I want when I'm eating Chinese food... Two stars for a good effort, but definitely not my cup of tea. We won't be going back there anytime soon. read more

I am not a Chinese food snob or connoisseur so I can't speak to its authenticity, but I was pleasantly surprised at the generous portions at reasonable prices. The chow mein (with crunchy noodles) was delicious and made with very fresh celery and cabbage. The sweet and sour chicken was fried crisp with ample sauce. I'd give both of those dishes five stars. The service was fast and friendly. The lower rating is only because the fried rice was lacking. It was not bad, just bland. With a little added soy sauce, it was ok, but next time I would probably skip it and opt for another dish. We all enjoyed our dinner, overall, though! read more

I'm new to Yelp so this review is Long Overdue! This is the only Chinese Restaurant my family will go to!! We have been coming here for over 20 years!! Many of the same, friendly staff are still there. For starters, free hot tea, with your own teeny ceramic cups & a teapot for the table. At the end of your meal, tasty fortune cookies & freshly cut oranges already segmented so you just eat 'em with a toothpick! When I go in, they already know what I order...Mongolian Beef with extra carrots & added broccoli! It's amazing & a massive order, comes with rice as well. I always leave with a full to go container that I take home to eat later. Yum! Recently I have tried the Salt & Pepper Prawns, you get around 18 of them?!!! That's crazy generous!! I like a bit of sweet & sour sauce to dip my shrimp in. (which the Don't charge extra for) The amount of food you get for the price is truly a great value! Especially the Lunch Specials, great deals! The Only negative thing I will say is that they charge $2.00 for a Can of Coke! I have paid it a few times but I'd rather not. You could always swing by Walmart (they share a parking lot) & grab a can at their outside vending machine. Lol Deco hasn't been changed, ever. I think they prefer to concentrate on the delicious food! Hey, I have no problem with that! Booths are comfy & have high backs, I like that. They have a huge open room in the back that can be reserved for family birthdays & such! Which is hard to find for a family as big as ours. This is our favorite chinese restaurant in Bellingham. The food is consistent, meaning if you order szechuan beef every time you come in, it will be exactly the same each time. We also like that they give you a ton of food. Now that being said, I would say that the food is not authentic chinese but it is good. It is your average americanized chinese food. It is our favorite because it's good, it's consistant, the service is great, you get a lot of leftovers and the price is very reasonable. read more

I ordered the lunch special with walnut shrimp. The special came with fried rice, an egg roll, and choice of soup. The food was plentiful and delicious. The water they serve has lemon in it and it tasted good. So I was able to have a delicious and filling lunch for less than $9. My waitress was very nice and friendly. read more

Good food, courteous service and tasty dishes. The cashew chicken was full of healthy veggies and tender chicken. We were seated quickly and given a complimentary pot of tea. The hot and sour soup was just right spicy. The fried food tends to be a little heavy so if you are looking for healthy stay away from the battered deep fried dishes. There is lots to choose from on the dinner menu but not so much on the lunch menu. If you ask for a dinner menu they are happy to oblige. the Mushu pork was great with lots of those little pancake style wrappers and plenty of dipping sauce. The Mongolian beef was just right. I think the reviewers that didn't seem to care for the food need to try the dinner menu. It's way better and not so starch heavy. read more

After experiencing the horrible treatment at Oriento, we were very glad that we found China Palace to be the exact opposite. After being seated, the server came within minutes to take the order. She was extremely polite and pleasant. The quality of the food was very good and the portions generous. I will strongly recommend anyone looking for good Chinese food to this restaurant. Parking is very convenient and it is located just outside WalMart. Well done, China Palace. read more

By far the worst food I have ever been served. We had 3 different dishes that had ketchup mixed in with the canned sweet and sour sauce as the only flavor. Cabbage swimming in a sea of mucous, soggy noodles and the waitress looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for hot mustard or hot sauce...anything with some flavor.
