First time here and was pleasantly surprised. I love the old school Chinese restaurant feel here. I grew up in an area in CA and this is what I have fond memories of. Comfort, traditional decor, friendly service, awesome menu. We were there for lunch and found out they have a lunch menu. LOVE IT! You get choice of soup and hot pot of tea. Just like home! This restaurant has the most fantastic food, and the service is even better. The two daughters that do a lot of the serving are so nice, they remember mine, and my wife's name each time we go there. I haven't been here in so many years (pre covid plus 5 years?) but on Mother's Day, I had a yen for the good old American Chinese food of my youth! In all my years, Zing's Panda Palace is the closest to those old childhood memories. But this visit, it was even better than I remembered. Since it was Mother's Day, they had a sign and also informed us "Dinner Menu Only" meaning larger, family style entrees and every thing a la carte. Want an egg roll? Add $2.50 (for example not sure of exact price). I ordered a small hot and sour soup and I wanna say it was $3.50. It was delicious! Not the best I have ever had but very good! My husband ordered "triple delight" which was shrimp, chicken and beef in a delicious sauce garnished with lots of veggies. I ordered sesame chicken which was that fried, sweet goodness that I have been craving. It was great and definitely left me feeling satisfied. Tea and water were served without being requested. Choice or white or brown rice. We chose brown but we're later told "it wasn't ready" so we said white Is fine. Service was gracious and efficient. We noticed since we had last been, the entire interior appeared to have been refreshed! Very nice! I'm sorry I didn't get pictures of the main courses as we dove in as soon as they were served but we will definitely go Back sooner next time! I absolutely adore Xing's. I always get excellent service and everyone is so nice. My go-to's are the chicken Mei Fun, which is fabulous. I never eat the whole thing in one go, so as leftovers the next day, they're top-notch. The egg drop soup is divine and I get it far too often! Stop by this place after I did my grocery shopping at Safeway. Been reading about it and thought today was a good Chinese takeout day. Got there and there were about 4 people a head of me. They were only allowing 1 inside for pickup and takeout orders. Spoke to a guy in line who seems like a regular. Gave me some tips on what his and his wife usually orders. He was partially to their war noodle soup. Today, I opted for the 4 Season under the chef's special menu ($14.95) and hubby wanted to try his favorite entree dish, Moo Shu pork($10.95). Both were good and of good portion. Definitely had leftover for the next day lunch. Noticed that they increased their menu pricing by $1 now. So make sure you check out my menu photos for the latest updated price. Probably should have call in the order for pickup seems a lot of their regulars did that and were in and out. Bellingham is not known for its excellence in Chinese restaurants. However, given our situation, I feel Xing's is near the top of our choices. I'll tell you why... I appreciate that the restaurant is consistent and dependable. It is convenient to know what is offered and when. I know when the hours are, what is on the menu, what I items I like and items I don't. I think that is a service worth mentioning and almost a luxury. The food is good fresh and and the people are friendly and helpful. Just a comfortable, pleasant experience from start to finish. I go there often. BRAVO! read more

The short answer is "no, I wouldn't go back." Two stars because the person was nice and pleasant. Otherwise it would be 1. The long answer is "very nice people. Food was hot. But...it was very mediocre food. In my experience, fried rice has stuff in it, be it peas, carrots, egg...even without meat. This was literally just....rice with soy sauce. We got the pepper steak with onion, General Tso's, and double cooked pork with veggies. All extra spicy. All with hot and sour soup. Nothing was even remotely spicy, and the food itself was all mushy. General Tso's is served with more veggies than chicken, and I was pretty surprised to see cucumbers. Ordered moo goo gai pan yesterday. Disappointed. It was great and terrible at the same time. The food was fresh, well cooked, and sufficient, but only had the flavor of steamed vegetables. There was no sauce at all! Usually there is something made of oyster sauce, rice vinegar, etc. i used soy sauce which made it too salty. I've been coming to Xing's since 2003 and have never been disappointed Today, I ordered the #6 Combination Plate which is General Tzo chicken, pork fried rice and egg roll ((my favorite meal)) ...generally, Tzo chicken is pretty spicy but they'll gladly adjust it; I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy food so I ask for it to be "One Star" and it's perfectly savory with just a hint of heat-- it's so delicious that I almost always overeat, which is easy to do because their portions are VERY generous! Something I'd like to mention is that a lot of Chinese restaurants do have large-looking portions but it's because they put the meat on top of a LOT of vegetables, which isn't necessarily bad but I'm kind of a carnivore and to me, veggies are nice on the side, not the main ingredient of a chicken dish; Xing's tends to have more meat and I love that Another super meal is their pork egg rolls paired with a "cup" of egg drop soup.. I say "cup" because it's actually a bowl -and their actual "bowl" of soup is huge!! I'm a hearty eater and 2 rolls with the cup of soup fills me up perfectly.. may I add that I've eaten Chinese food all across the country and I have got to say, Xing's egg drop soup is THE BEST.. and you know why? Because it's freshly prepared, not dumped out of a Sysco commercial food bag, and the velvety taste proves it ..folks, believe me, this is a gem of a restaurant; I could easily write pages of praise for all the dishes I've eaten here over the 20 years of being their customer, but there's probably a content limit LOL so let me sum up by saying you'll have a full tummy, leftovers to take home and be able to leave a nice tip, for under $20 read more

A very friendly accommodating lady, Jade, greeted me behind a plexiglass which I noticed in appreciation! Made "fresh", not prior made just awaiting to serve, so it took 20 min sitting curbside before "ready" which was also impressive in these times. The location is convenient as well as accessible for take-out. By far the Veg Fried Rice was the winner! The Coconut Shrimp with that sauce was definitely culinary satisfying BUT the Sweet Sour Pork was so disappointing in being "overcooked & dried out" with an overly sweet sauce. I'm not saying this is a five star restaurant, but they serve very decent food at reasonable prices (particularly their lunch specials) and their hours are excellent. BUSINESS HOURS They are open 7 days a week. While most restaurants in town close at 9pm, they are open until 10pm most days and until 11pm on Friday and Saturday. I have eaten here at least a couple of dozen times since I moved to Bellingham in 2003. Their food has always been decent. The other day, I found my very favorite lunch special: House Special Bean Curd (my photo)! What I didn't expect was that it had lots of protein other than tofu and also a variety of veggies: BBQ pork, chicken, and even shrimp; for veggies, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, snow peas, baby corn, etc. I really liked the flavor of it and it was not too greasy (as many Chinese dishes can be). It was served with soup and rice (with free tea) for 8.25 plus tax (lunch special). SERVICE I've never had to wait very long for my takeout order to be ready or to be seated. Once seated, they take your order promptly and the food usually comes out quickly. This place is rather quiet or it feels calm even when there are many people, which I like. FINAL WORDS You can't find a high end Chinese restaurant in Bellingham. The fried dumplings were waaay undercooked and tasted doughy. We hadn't had chow mein in a long time so decided to try that again. never need to do that again as it was totally flavorless. I've been coming to PP for years. Their lunch specials are amazing - you get a giant entree (several to choose from), plus soup and rice (choice of steamed or fried), for $6.95. They also serve each guest a delightful little appy, a bag of deep fried Chinese noodle goodness. The service is always fast, and the food arrives quickly. My favorite from the lunch menu is their Yakisoba with shrimp - they use a large shrimp and the noodles are cooked perfectly. The Broccoli Beef is also delicious, with tender meat and expertly stir-fried broccoli. The kids love their General Tso's Chicken which, as with several of their dishes, can be ordered with up to 5 stars of spiciness. If you're looking for good Chinese food in Bellingham, skip the grossness that is Panda Express and instead hop right across the street to the Panda Palace. You won't be disappointed! read more
