I rarely leave bad review before. I ordered "double cooked pork" but I did not expect to get a double-cooked Char-Siu. It's commen sense that double cooked pork should always be made of pork belly. Before ordering I had to do my due diligence and turned to yelp for assistance. There were so many glowing reviews it seemed like we had to order from here. Thankfully all the reviews were right - this place is great! It's also so affordable so it's the perfect excuse to over order so you can try multiple things. To me, their chicken and broccoli is top notch. Its flavorful and cooked well. We've also enjoyed their dumplings, pepper steak, sesame chicken and shrimp chow mein. The only thing we were not that happy about was their wonton soup. It just lacked a little flavor. Nothing a little syracha sauce could not help with though. This place is always a hot or miss you never know what your in store for!! One day the food is just ok eatable but nothing special and the day is so bad you can't even eat it! They take no pride in making your food they just throw it together and you get what you get! And then they expect you to eat it. Just a warning for people who are ordering lunch specials: my orders of sesame chicken and chicken and broccoli both came with pork fried rice (although I didn't have a chance to indicate what I wanted - I did assume it would be with white rice). The portions were pretty good - full boxes for $6.50 each. You also get a free can of soda with each box (or soup). I ordered through seamless and it was pretty clear and simple. The delivery guy does ask for a signature. The chicken wings tasted a little odd (not quite like chicken) and the fortune cookies were stale (they gave two fortune cookies for free). China Star has been my go-to Chinese restaurant for a couple of years. You can pick up or have it delivered. Delivery is always fast and the food is delivered hot. The food itself is what I consider "clean tasting" Chinese food. I have been disappointed at other Chinese restaurants in the past after receiving food that tastes gross. Too much oil, over cooked, under cooked, or cooked in pans that probably haven't been cleaned out in who knows how long, thus resulting in what I call, "dirty food". This is never the case at China Star. Their food always tastes good, fresh and clean. I also think they have a great menu and you can order white or brown rice with your combo meals. I find the people who work in the restaurant to be very pleasant. And they throw in a free can of soda with your order. read more

I used to go here a lot with a friend. We ordered chicken nuggets and fries. I had the same delivered to my house various times and every time there were pieces of un chewable gristle I suppose inside my nuggets but the fries were good. Food is always hot and delicious, even when delivered. Small place that is underrated. Delivery is fast. For under $10, you can get an "All Day Special Combination" with either a soda or soup, pork fried rice or white rice, an entree, and a side dish (and they don't skimp out on the portions). I called in an order without a menu. The order was chicken and tomato fried rice wonton soup. They charged me $16.25 . They gave me a large portion of chicken and tomato without asking if I wanted a large portion. Nice trick. To make things worse most of the chicken and tomato was onion . So food was expensive very ordinary tasting . Dont bother going unless you are desperate and bring plenty of cash . read more

This place is ok but it's really just a hit or miss. Some times you'll get 2 fortune cookies for 2 meals but them sometimes you'll only get one. They use two different brands of hot sauce and one of them is not hot at all. my girlfriend recommended this location to me since i said i was giving up chinese food for good. i have a strange food allergy, ( can't have vitamin k such as broccoli, bok choy, cabbage, etc. ) she suggested i try this place and let them know what not to put in my food. surprise!!! i asked them to leave out what i could not eat and also no salt. the food came hot, the delivery person extremely polite, the containers were over flowing to the point where we had leftovers for not only lunch the next day, but also a supper. when they told me my food would be at my home by such and such time, it was delivered as promised. give this place a try and you will never go anyplace else. read more
