Ordered lunch from here today. I got their beef and broccoli (from their combination platter menu), and a separate order of fried baby shrimp. The food was decent, although the pork fried rice that came with my dish was pretty flavorless and the pork pieces were dry. That aside this review is about this restaurant's prices and their customer service. My total for these 2 items was $23.50, which is definitely overpriced. Their menu prices do not reflect what they actually charge, and the food was not worth $23. Especially because of what I mentioned above and their small quantities. (I could have gotten something better from Applebees). Additionally, whoever the man is that answers the phones here, is incredibly rude and has an attitude problem. My go to Chinese food restaurant! I've been ordering from here for over 5 years... I've tried other Chinese food in the area but Sunrise Chinese Kitchen is by far my favorite. The food is delicious and definitely fresh because they are always busy. The owner is friendly and prompt. He always knows what I order and is quick to take care of me as soon as I walk in. My favorite dishes are shrimp and broccoli, chicken wings in garlic sauce, vegetable fried rice (not greasy at all) , fried shrimp. LOVE this place! read more

I noticed they didn't have a review in years so I wanted to just let y'all know that the food is great, delivery is fast, and the delivery man is very nice, he calls when he's a block away so you're ready when he pulls up. I always order the sesame chicken, chicken & broccoli, honey wings, and lo Mein and it's always been good, a lot better than other other places in the area like Lee's wok. I grew up five blocks from this place and used to come here all the time, its been about 10 years since i've been back here and decided to take the trip as I have been searching for a decent chinese place since my local favorite Kim Wong burned down. Bad move. The food was just blah, low mein was overcooked, rice had too much onion and had a bad water taste...chicken dish was just spicy with no flavor, oh and the worst part of the whole meal was the low mein was sandy...meaning they didn't clean the veggies. I am assuming its different owners than when I used to frequent the place as I would not go back. So we've been ordering from here FOREVER. Recently, we've been disappointed every. single. time. Their food has been subpar lately. They're taking significantly longer for their delivers, which is more than likely partially to blame for the subpar food. But tonight was the icing on the cake. Tonight we order our food, we were told 40 mins... a little over 2 hours later our food arrived. When I told the delivery guy we didn't want it bc we already ate, he argued with me. Told me half price. I told him no bc we ordered fried food, which would definitely be soggy by now. He still argued, telling me the power had been out for a half hour.. but I had been calling for an hour, well passed the rain storm that came through 20mins before our order was placed. And when I politely said, we weren't accepting the delivery, he huffed off without a word. We have been loyal customers of theirs for years. I'm not sure what happened with management but it's definitely slipped. So disappointed. read more

My regular Chinese restaurant (in Lynbrook) was closed as it was after 10 on a Sunday night. I am so glad night time hunger lead me here. I live in Valley Stream but had always gone back to Lynbrook where I used to live for Chinese food. I think I found a new spot closer to home. I had chicken and broccoli with shrimp fried rice. Food is usually good and hot, delivery is fast. However, today I ordered butterfly shrimp and it was something other than that! It was more like a egg foo young. I called and reported it to the man at the restaurant, but he made many excuses on why it appeared that way and how not all Chinese Restaurants make it the same way. I tried to place an order for delivery and the guy says, after I placed the order that It was a $10 minimum. Mind you I order from this place all the time at least once a week or sometimes 2 times a week. I work long hours so I just order food all the time. So long story short I will never order from this this place again. My total was a few cents from $10. I'm not saying the food is bad, but customer service needs to improve. read more

My husband and I have ordered from the place for about a decade. A few years ago, something changed - either the owners or the main chef or where they order from - because the food tastes different. I first noticed with the cheese wontons. It went from vegetable cream cheese to something with a sweet onion taste. Overall the food was okay, but after Sandy hit, it went all down hill. The food does not taste fresh at all. Sure, they cook it fresh, but it tastes like it's been sitting in the freezer for way too long. Definitely won't be back anymore. read more
