This place is really good. I was skeptical, but it was recommended to my husband by a co-worker and it did not disappoint. When we have a craving for Chinese take out, this is our go to. We usually get an order of the fried rice, General Tso Chicken, Bourbon Chicken and spring rolls. (I sometimes get the Sesame chicken which is my personal favorite but my husband isn't a fan of sesame seeds.) The food is always on point, always hot and the price is on the mark for the portions. We recently discovered China Taste, and we were highly impressed. The sign says "NY Style Chinese Food", and the food is very good. Service is quick and efficient, and they were very good with making my order with no onions. In fact, they asked me if the green onions were okay. :-) I like that. It is next to the Publix on 192 & Narcoossee... across from the Winn Dixie. I was trying to decide between China Taste and the restaurant across the street, and after doing a search online, I found that the restaurant across the street had many health code violations (a lot for bugs) and had been shut down and fined last year. Found this place near my work in the Publix shopping center and it's NY style so I had to give them a try. Ordered from them a few times and somehow it tasted only okay to me for some reason. The seasonings or sauces they use are not the usual standard NY style and have a hint of other regions of the Chinese palate I recognize but somehow not used correctly. This is a great Chinese restaurant! Have a very small eating area, but that's fine, we always get takeout. The general Tsos chicken is divine. The chicken egg foo yong, beef fried rice, beef teriyaki appetizer, dumplings/potstickers are all awesome, but The best is always the chicken lo mein! They're very quick to take your order and take about 15 to 20 minutes which is just enough time to get there and pick it up for us. Just moved to St Cloud and I should start by saying I am a restaurant manager. China taste is close to our brand new home and looked forward to exploring the new area and restaurant's in the area . I ordered a large veggie lo mein only to discover the only vegetables in where 4 overcooked pieces of broccoli and very few slivers of carrots and onions.......and the noodles where severely overcooked. Although it's not the very best Chinese I've had, it is by far the best Chinese take out I have had near by. Consistently good and consistently fast and friendly service. I would definitely recommend China Taste for any Chinese food craving. However, they are missing out on one thing that could and would grow there business heavily. They do not deliver. For a store front take out Chinese place, its awesome. The food is consistent every time, except for the general Tso chicken. For some reason its hit or miss, sometimes juicy and tender and other times hard to chew. It seems tender if you order it for lunch, its awesome. I've noticed its dried and hard to chew if ordered for dinner. As an experiment, I got a tender juicy nugget, and left it uncovered in the fridge on a plate for about 8 hours, and when I returned for it, it was dried out and hard to chew. Makes me wonder if the chicken is left uncovered in a fridge all day and that is why the mornings are better and evenings are not so much ... But everything else is always on point every time. We tried this place convenient to the Holopaw Commercial corridor and we fine we need to go back nearly every week for more. I'm not saying it's addicting, but I've got a taste for their shrimp eggrolls I can't shake and we love the sweet-n-sour chicken and S-n-S Shrimp too! Today that with pork chowmein and we'll add a few chicken nuggets for the kids to dip in the sweet-n-sour sauce and we've got a hit our children beg for! It's hard to drive by now, the car just pulls in to the convenient parking and the engine goes off for a tasty treat! We usually eat there because it's distracting to drive anywhere without eating some of that great smelling food! Oh yes and don't forget the tip. Second Chinese place the family tasted after currently moving to the south. The first wasn't good at all but we all loved the quality of the food. OK so other than the location of the restaurant on the map being incorrect. My cousin had chicken and rice and I had just shrimp fried rice. First glance and I probably would have opted out on the rice as it looked kind-of dry. It wasn't though, and actually had good taste. The vegetables were good as well. I also had hunan chicken. It prob was the most bland I have ever had. I also asked for xtra spicy.......................... yea so that didn't work out. It was my first time seeing the red peppers but no spice. So confused. Also they forgot to remove the baby corn and cashews after I asked... anyway, I can't comment on the service or anything there because I didn't pick it up. for this one thou I'm going to give them a 2 totally based on my particular order which was below average-average Chinese food to me. This is the closest chinese food to our house, so when we want to stop and bring home some chinese food we come here often. The prices are reasonable and portions are larger than we can eat in one sitting. The fried rice is really good and I have only had the orange chicken and General's chicken but both of those are excellent. The egg roll they gave you with the combo is also very good. We are new to FL, so dont know how the other places around are for chinese food, but we make China Taste one of our weekly stops if we don't want to cook at home. read more
