We enjoyed our food from this small takeout place. The portions were very generous. The fried dumplings were outstanding, as was the pork egg roll. The General Tso Chicken was great: the chicken was fried perfectly, and the sauce was exactly the sweet and spicy flavor I love, but by the time we got it home, it was a little soggy. No problem: next time we'll get sauce on the side. My father really loved the chicken chow mein: thin pieces of perfectly cooked chicken breast with well-cooked soft sweet onions, and a warm gravy. The only thing we didn't care for was the Chicken Chow Mei Fun: relatively bland compared to our other food, but if you want a soft rice angel hair pasta with vegetables and chicken, you might enjoy it. I called in Monday evening 13 April 2026 for a pickup order. I was told it be ready 15-20 minutes later. When I arrived the seating area was full of people, some waiting for orders and some placing orders. There were only two people working in the entire restaurant. The lady answering calls & taking orders and working the fryers, the cook was working hard too. I had to wait additional 30minutes to get my food and that was okay. My food was cooked to order hot and delicious. I'd return to order again when Chinese food is the choice for take out again. read more

This is my closest Chinese take out joint and I've been coming here for years. They are a quick 5 miles from me, and I've always found them to be a 3-star experience. The rumor mill told me that there had been an ownership change, so I headed over to see what's changed. Arriving- They are in a tiny plaza on the southbound side of US Route 27. There is a cross street with a light so getting here is easy and parking is a snap. Ownership Change- Yup, it's changed owners, but the name has stayed the same. It appears to be family-run with a father, wife, and a son & daughter that appear to be young teenagers. They were all working when I blew in at noon on a Saturday. The wife was running the front of the house. As before, there is a heavy language barrier, but ordering is no problem. Just don't plan on discussing politics in America with her. Ambience- I was struck by the cleanliness! You could eat off the floor! There are a few tables, but nobody really eats here. They just wait for their takeout. Food- Typical extensive Chinese menu with no surprises. I ordered Steamed Dumplings, large Pork Fried Rice, and a full order of Beef with Snow Peas. That's a lot of food just for me but I turn it into two or even three meals! The bill was $32 which I found a little high for this area. It was out in about ten minutes and off I went, headed for home. See my 3 pics. Pic #1 is the packaging, and it was solid. No leaks or mess. Pic #2 shows the opened food. As you can see, it looked delicious! Pic #3 shows how it plated. Everything was still hot. Nothing had excessive grease which was great. The Beef with Snow Peas was very good and the mushrooms in the dish were awesome and really hit the spot for me. The rice and dumplings were solid. I've had dumplings with more filling but that's a minor quibble and these were quite flavorful. These new owners seem to have hit the ground running and I'm delighted to say that I'm changing my rating to 4-stars! read more

First time, Last Time Ordered: Crispy beef with Chinese vegetables, beef chow mein, and one egg roll The beef with Chinese vegetables was not crispy, Chinese vegetables consisted of celery, onion, carrot, and a few snow peas. Where is the bok choy, Long strand Chinese green beans, and bamboo shoots? The dish had a heavy amount of thick sauce made from oyster sauce. How is the beef to remain crispy if it is soaked in liquids? The dish I requested should not even have a sauce and should be topped with cilantro or scallions. Lastly, I requested the dish to be medium spiced, it was bland. The beef chow mein was extremely watery and only consisted of celery and a small amount of jullianed carrots for vegetables. The chow mein noodles were stale. The egg roll, as seen below in the picture, had more wrapping than filling. Even if they add added more shredded cabbage to this eggroll it would've sufficed and satisfied as a decent egg roll. Also would saved on the amount of meat filling used. Cabbage is a very cheap vegetable and one that can stay fresh for a longer period of time. Because the wrapper made up the majority of the role, it did not cook inside the outer most part of the wrapper. This made the egg roll chewy. As a result, the inner layers of the wonton wrapper were extremely chewy to the point of inedible. I had to stop eating it. I understand the need to cut back on vegetables due to inflation but these vegetables are some of the cheapest on the market. Had cabbage been added it would've made every dish better and more filling. I spent $21 and change. Will not be returning to this restaurant. I am Domaine de Valier, and I am a food critic. I traveled the world in search of good restaurants and surprisingly new dishes. As well, I've been all across the United States trying new dishes. If you're going to eat here, eat in, but be ware you might have to wait even if there are at least 8 empty tables around the restaurant. If you order to go, again, be prepared to wait a lot longer than they tell you it's going to take. No matter how big or small our orders are, they are NEVER ready when we go pick up. Food is good. Based on a few reviews we were anticipating some good Chinese food. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The pineapple chicken was disgusting---mushy, gristly dark meat. It was horrible! If I could leave zero stars, I would. My husband ordered one of his usual favorites (not from here), boneless spareribs. We called ahead for takeout. He walked in, stated he was there to pickup and the employee walks away to retrieve his order. While he's waiting, he picks up a magazine that was on the counter and begins flipping through to pass the time. The employee comes back, literally snatched the magazine from him, closes it and flips it over. My husband being the kind hearted person he is, just stands there stunned. He signs the receipt, takes his order and leaves. While he's there waiting, another customer begins speaking rudely to my husband but that's another story. We get home, he begins eating his supper and gives me a piece to try. The meat is old and rancid. He was just going to drowned it in sauce so it was tolerable, I told him no way! Do not eat that! The worst thing you can do ever. Food was bad. But their service is awful. The Chinese lady behind the counter is rude obnoxious and just downright racist. It's funny she is Chinese who barely speaks hardly speaks any English. It's safe to say she's an immigrant but she forgets that she shouldn't judge others. The place is dirty and needs to be cleaned. I wonder if health department ever walk to this place. I was asked by my coworker to help her this place order food from here for lunch. I get it why their business is gone they are really awful people to have business. I don't think they have ever heard of Customer Service. My wife & I are vegetarians and we LOVE this place. We've eaten at some of the best Chinese Restaurants all over the world -- and this food id great. We've paid so much more for so much less. We can't believe we're so lucky to have such great Chinese Food so close to us here in Avon Park. They will substitute almost any of their dishes with meat with deep fried tofu -- and we love that. Our favorites are General Tso's Tofu, Mixed vegetable with Tofu in Garlic sauce, and Broccoli in Garlic sauce. Please support this precious little family that has gone through so much and is working so hard to raise their children in a better land. read more
