Steven B. picked Market 27 in Avon Park for our meet‑up, and despite Orlando traffic making me about 15 minutes late and extra hungry I was glad he did. By the time our friendly waitress came to take our order, I was ready to follow Steven's advice and try one of their pizzas. It did not take long before a small pie arrived, generously topped with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and onions. The flavors were spot on, and with a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for a little kick, it was perfect. I enjoyed it so much that while we spent the next 20 minutes chatting about travel, Yelp, and my sprinter van, I looked down to find I had polished off the entire pizza without even realizing it. Service was warm and attentive throughout. Our waitress made sure we were well cared for and handled splitting the check with ease. Market 27 also offers a wide variety of drinks, from sodas to beers. I went with a macro brew this time, but next visit I will branch out and try something different. This is a one-topic review focusing solely on their Stromboli. For other aspects of the restaurant, please read my previous reviews. Pricing- There are almost 20 specialty pizzas on the menu here and of course you could build your own. So why am I talking about pies in a Boli review? Because Boli pricing is the same as the medium pizza price. So, I wanted a Meatlovers Boli, I found the Meatlovers pizza, and the medium was $15.49. Boom, that's the price of my Boli. Note- I'm addicted to black olives, so I always add them and that cost me about an extra buck or so. I ordered this bad boy to-go. Appearance- Check my pictures. This is what a well-made Boli should look like. Perfectly cooked crust and heavy with savory fillings. So many Stromboli's, when you cut into them are skimpy with the fillings, but not this bad boy! The food and service at Market 27 are always top notch. We drove past this restaurant many times before hearing it was a restaurant ans not just a convenience store. Today we had the ribs and a banana split. We split both otherwise I would not have been able to enjoy the delicious ice cream This is a must stop as you pass through from Lake Wales to Avon Park. Stopped by for the first time for dinner tonight. Thought we could sneak in before it got busy, but apparently that starts well before 5 PM! There was a line to get a table, but we prefer to eat at the bar anyway. Fairly new to the area, but settling down here for good, and I think we've found our new go to for pizza! Got a large 3 meat combo and decided to go with the thin crust on the recommendation of our bartender/server/manager. The pizza was excellent, with a crispy crust, and the appropriate amount of toppings and tasty cheese blend. Next time, we'll try their thick crust to see how it compares. An average roadside restaurant with decent and large portioned food. We - 8 of us - stopped by after our first open water dive in the nearby Lake Denton. Food was delicious. We had a Pizza & some Wings. Salad to start. The service was very nice & sweet but possibly short staffed and couldn't keep up. We waited a long time for the food and when it came it wasn't as hot as it should have been. I think it's because it sat waiting for server to get as she kept apologizing. We didn't complain as it was still good and we'll go back, just at a less busy time. Their menu is crazy good, sure to satisfy every desire! Went with a group from work for lunch. There were 5 of us and it was lunchtime, the restaurant was pretty busy. Several got salads, which were huge (and delish, they said), one got pizza and I got a Stromboli. My Stromboli was huge, and it was so good!! The service was excellent. So damn good!! We have yet to find something on the menu we don't like. The staff is wonderful and friendly. Food is delicious with large portions. The restaurant is clean. Have been going to Market 27 for quite a long time. The last few times that I have been there I have seen roaches, on the wall, on the booth, and on the floor. The staff doesn't seem to care. Also on two different occasions the manager was very rude to us, which was uncalled for since she approached us. First time ordering pizza from here but I'm sure it'll be the last. Maybe their other menu options are better, but just skip the pizza. Ordered a medium with meatball from the door dash site since that's really the only way online. It'll ask you for what kind of crust,thin, regular or thick. I ordered the regular. Checked out pie in the car making sure it had my topping. Now for the disappointment. Pizza was small for being a regular. And crust was very thin! Ok I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and try it at home. Well another disappointment! Pizza had no flavor, the center of the pie stuck to the bottom of the box from their cutting. And the meatballs were bland at best but still no flavor either! At this point I was very hungry but felt sick after eating the no flavor pizza with probably store frozen meatballs. my family and I have gone to Market 27. We have had dinner there twice and it was outstanding servers was very very good. A place is very clean. They work at it. We also had ice cream again was very reasonable and my dad got brain freeze and he's 94 so you know he enjoyed his ice cream, just recently got pizza for the first time and I thought the turnaround time was 20 minutes. I thought that was very reasonable considering it was made from scratch. I would give this a five star rating just as I stated we've been there several times and never had a complaint yet. read more

I've been here several times when I visit my family. The last two times (months apart), there have been roaches crawling on the booth where we were sitting and the floor nearby. When we told the different waitresses we had, they were not surprised but simply killed them and walked away. I highly question the cleanliness of this restaurant. Boycott the Calzone unless you like bread dough on bread dough on bread dough. The outside bread dough was cooked, the inner was more raw than done. With some dipping sauce on the side for $15. Very little filling. Hardly anything in it - very little cheese, veggies or meat. I don't like pepperoni so I asked for them to replace the pepperoni with sausage (double sausage instead of pepperoni and sausage). They just left out the pepperoni without adding any more sausage and charging full price. If you look at the picture of the meat lovers stromboli you would conclude it is a different restaurant. Mine wasn't even close. About 2 or 3 times as much bread dough. And the fillings on the table in the picture is about half of the total amount that was inside my calzone. My meal looked like someone took that stromboli and violently shaked it until 90% of the fillings came out. Then they sealed it up and sent it to my table. Never order anything from them that you can't see completely thru it. Only order open faced food like pizza and sandwiches so you can see exactly what and how much you are getting when they bring it to you. I won't ever trust anything you have to cut into The service from the waitress was awesome in spite of being short staffed. I didn't mind leaving a 20% tip because she earned it. I did resent paying for my meal as it was a travesty and an insult. And no, they were not very busy when we came in. So they can't use that as an excuse. Someone at our table ordered the onion rings. Or so they said. Neither my wife or I could taste any onion. And they were severely undercooked. I ordered the calzone because the reuben is just so-so. The marble rye is very bland and plain and easily crumbles and falls apart. I had a reuben last time we came in. The meat (corned beef) is dry and not what I would call a classic reuben (pastrami). There is a fair amount of meat but the overall sandwich is bland and dry. In fairness, they may have the best pizza in town. Nice thin crisp crust. This place was highly recommended as having the best pizza. Finally tried it last Saturday and was disappointed. The pizza was not something I would call the best Pizza I have had. It is okay, and I would give them a three start review but the place was dirty. On the floor right next to where I was sitting was an empty salad dressing pack and there were napkins on the floor in other areas. We where there for an hour and no one attempted to sweep the floor. So my rating is a 1 for cleanliness and 3 for the Pizza. read more
