We Like This Place - And You Can Eat In For some reason, it's hard to find good Chinese food in the Cape Coral area. We moved down to this area recently and asked friends and neighbors and we always here about two large buffet places. Nobody ever mentioned China Wok. We were in the area and wanted a lunch so we stopped in and we're glad we did. Just as many small Chinese restaurants, they offer anything off of their regular menu and also have a lunch menu attractively priced at $7.75 which includes your choice of Egg Drop or Wonton Soup, or and Egg Roll, or a Soda in addition to your entree which also comes with Pork Fried Rice. This is not a fancy place. Plastic silverware, napkins, packets of sweet n sour sauce and hot mustard are at one end of the front counter for you to self serve. Basic laminate covered tables and benches are there if you want to eat in. I ordered the Shrimp and Chinese Vegetables, which was supposed to have some spiciness, and a Soda for us to share. As I enjoy Hot N Sour Soup, I ordered a Small for an additional $3.95. My wife ordered the Chicken and Mixed Vegetables with an Egg Roll. As we waited, we noticed a brisk lunch take-out business which always indicates that the food must be good. We could here the clanging of the woks in the kitchen and our dishes were brought out to us quickly. The soup could not have been any hotter temperature wise. It had to be just below boiling point and I prefer it that way. The flavor was enjoyable and as I have found, every Chinese place has a little different flavor when it comes to Hot N Sour soup. This had a nice blend of spice from chilies, vinegar, vegetables and tofu in probably a chicken based broth. This container was actually enough for me for lunch, but I had to try my Shrimp and Vegetable. I didn't really notice any heat from spice so I added a few drizzles of the infamous Chinese hot mustard and that did the trick. Six medium shrimp with a variety of Chinese veggies in a tasty sauce accompanied by pork fried rice. I had a few tastes and took the rest home for lunch the next day. My wife's Egg Roll was just ok. Veggie based, not a lot of flavor. Sweet and Sour sauce and mustard added some flavor. Her Chicken and Vegetables was excellent. Plenty of chicken and veggies in a sauce similar to mine and the same fried rice. She brought home about half. When you can get good tasting Chinese food and get it at a lunch special price, it's even better! We have gone back several times and will visit again. Try it! read more

I ordered two lunch orders. General Taos and Shrimp with Lobster sauce which I added extra shrimp. The dish had imitation crab in it which I am allergic to fish. I had the throw the whole dish out. I called them and all they said was sorry and hung up. The other dish was not good at all. Waste of money and food. I have severe stomach issues today and can't even leave the house. Food was not good. We both had different chicken dishes. The chicken tasted sold and mushy. The pasta wrap around the wontons in our soup was literally was resolving in the broth - a mushy mess. We were on our way home from a long day at the beach and the kids had been asking for Chinese. We however did not want to sit down at a buffet or in the restaurant, rather head home and eat at the table. After searching reviews online we decided to try out this location. Overall I have this location a 4-star. The Bourbon chicken was a bit more sweet than I anticipated. If your into a huge crab taste within the Rangoon, you will however be disappoint, I myself enjoyed the way it tasted. The portions were just the right size. The Egg rolls were on point. Tasted great. To top off the visit, since we ordered so much and had the kids waited she gifted us coke to take home with out meal. The food is fresh and excellent; the people there are very nice. Further, they included their menu, every sauce imaginable and everything we needed with our "to go" order, anticipating every want and need. We ordered the Pepper Beef with onion lunch, which came with choice of soup, soda or egg roll. Husband got the egg roll and I got the wonton soup. Plus it comes with pork fried rice. We also ordered a Pu Pu Platter and additional side of Crab Rangoon so that we would have enough to eat for lunch and dinner. All was delicious and in very generous portions. Best Chinese food in the area! We love this food so much we drive from Fort Myers. We always get the kung pao chicken, sweet and sour chicken and egg rolls. My Orange Beef was way over cooked, the Chicken Pad Thai tasted like vinegar or lemon and there was NO peanut sauce taste to it at all, the Sweet and Sour pork was too much batter and overcooked pork, the large combo appetizer was horrible (very fatty ribs and chewy, you could squeeze the grease from the deep fried and overbattered shrimp and egg rolls, the skewered chicken W A Y over cooked. I stopped in to pickup an order of Mu Shu Chicken and an order of Orange Chicken. I Saladi got an order of spring rolls I'll start with the good. The orange chicken was ok. It has a nice flavor but has so much breading you could hardly taste the chicken. The spring rolls were great. Now for the "not so good". The Mu Shu tasted like they burned something really bad. It wasn't a smoky flavor in case you were wondering. It literally tasted like burned one of the ingredients and rather than throw it away and start again, they just used it. We had to throw away the entire offer of Mu Shu. We will never go back considering there are numerous other Chinese restaurants. read more

Wow, This place has really sunk since the last time I was here. I was the first and only person when they opened up. Yet 20 minutes to get my Kung Pao chix.. The food looks good ( see my pic) price ok,5.77 for lunch. I ask as always for extra peppers BUT they screwed up. I did not taste or see hot peppers. Plus when ask for hot sauce to go I got hot mustard... Oh yes as I waited I saw them unload the box of FROZEN egg-rolls. If I wanted frozen I would buy my own. The place is really divey. They were filling the fridge with drinks now. So all drinks will-be hot instead of cold. Which you need for a meal. So I strongly suggest you pass on this place for a while . Check out who was the manager on Saturday, January 26th. He "had a long day" when I called not only once to say where was my food after 80 minutes when the estimated time given was 30 to 60 minutes. I asked him what kind of incentive he could offer for cold Chinese food. He refused to answer by saying what would you like twice? I replied you're not going to offer. The chicken was pure white, like it had been boiled. I don't know how they were able to make a dish so void of all flavor. We had to throw away our food.
