I came in alone and hungry. When my waitress arrived I ordered my drink first. When my drink was received I then ordered my dinner. My food was placed on my table and I proceeded to eat. Everything was tasty and I needed another drink about 10 minutes later. The waitress didn't even look my way I refused to get up from my seat so I waited 15 more minutes before I called the restaurant. The waitress came and was rude. I told her I just wanted to spend a little more money & relax with my food and a fresh drink. She walked away. Please pay attention to All your customers Not just the large tables. We had an excellent experience at Chen's last night. While I chose hot & sour soup over an egg roll (the egg rolls looked good) the Hot & Sour was the best I've had in FL. Four dishes ordered were Egg Foo Young, BBQ Boneless pork, Sesame and General Tso's chicken. all were excellent, fair priced and plentiful. We will be back. read more

Went here tonight wanted a glass of Pinot Grigio and a Club Soda.....Sorry we're out OK that happens just give me a water with lemon. That was the worst water I ever tasted. They brought noodles and Duck sauce noodles were STALE. Ordered an egg roll what came out was a pre cooked warm tough flavorless something. Not many eat in Chinese restaurants in the Cape and in my opinion this one is not worth my visit again. Sorry we're out!! read more

We heard this place was good so we decided to try it. It was excellent! We only had the lunch specials. Hot & sour soup with General Tso chicken and rice. And wonton soup with egg foo young and rice. Late lunch in lieu of dinner, before heading out for the evening: *** Hot and sour soup -- Perhaps it's a regional thing, but hot and sour in this area seems overly sour with a thin broth. Nope! *** Egg drop soup -- Also nope. Watery broth, mildly flavored. Needs more oomph! *** Shrimp chow mein -- If you're a chow mein kinda person, this is good. Particularly with a couple of squirts of soy sauce and a crumbling of crispy noodles. *** Moo shu pork -- I'd never seen this dish with gravy, or topped with an egg. It comes with the requisite pancakes. From experience, the plum dipping sauce served up north, is something else here. Though I didn't like the sauce, the pork is lean and the dish itself is pretty good. read more

I've been remiss on not writing a review about Chen's before now. My wife and I love Chen's. We have been going there for years. That's the gist of it all. This family run restaurant never disappoints us. Start with the Chicken Lettuce Wraps, the soups, the Spring rolls. You can't go wrong with any or all of the appetizer choices. Main course selections include anything you think a great Chinese restaurant should have on the menu. My favorites include the kung po chicken, Szechuan chicken, or chicken with mixed vegetables. My wife love the House Special Lo Mein. Service is amazing and friendly, prices reasonable plus they have a rewards program. Accumulate $100 in spending and get $10 off your next visit. They also do quite a bit of take out business. read more

Our favorite place for Chinese food ! Our family frequently dines in and orders to go . The house special fried rice is one of our favorites it has a good amount of ingredients and very tasty it's always consistently delicious. I ordered on our last visit the Mongolian Beef dish and I have to say I will be ordering this again the beef was soft and the flavors of sweet and savory were really nice. The BoBo Platter ha s little something for everyone to try as an appetizer this is nice for groups of 2 or more . Come hungry because their portions are filling. Just No! I'm not sure what happened but their food has changed. It used to be great! But now, the quality and taste has gone down. The general Tsos sauce tastes like just a blob of sweet and sour sauce- no flavor. The egg footing tastes flour-y no taste and the sauce is awful. I used to love coming here. I will go elsewhere. It's by far the best authentic Chinese restaurant around! They use real Chinese vegetables, they don't substitute zucchini, string beans etc.! Everything is fresh! Sometimes they sit at a back table and trim the peapods. The hot and sour soup and their egg rolls were delicious! They even have a reward system for frequent visits. So disappointed that another restaurant we loved has gone downhill. We ordered from here all the time, we have family that comes down that is always looking forward to ordering here with us but now it's just bad. Last two orders we received food that tasted like the inside of the walk in fridge. Clearly they're leaving uncovered food in the fridge, my orange chicken tasted like straight up raw fish and smelled like an old fridge. The rice was clearly days old, it was oily and over fried. The dumplings used to taste fresh and now they taste frozen, mushy and flavorless. I 100% could do better at Panda Express. I'd rather Cape Coral just have a Panda Express, atleast it would be somewhat more consistent and they'd have better health standards being a chain. The health score for Chens was also concerning and leads me to never wanting to try the food again, which is really sad because I used to absolutely love this place. read more

They went back to being a restaurant with silverware and plates. Guess they tried something and it just did not work. Glad to have it back to being a restaurant with fantastic service and food. Ordered (Pick-up) today 6/11/2024 Order # 9148. Item # (S23)(Chef's Specialties) Seafood Pan Fried Noodles SMOTHERED with Jumbo Shrimp/Lobster/Deep Sea Scallops, It came with one lobster piece, 2 scallops and 4 medium shrimps. Also included was several FAKE CRAB MEAT PIECES that I would never eat and tons of thick cut carrots. The noodles were soggy in soup-like sauce. This was "Dinner" size. It is very difficult to reach out to them, but after several attempts to find a place to do it, I did find a section that asked for "Feedback" and I was able to let them know that I was not happy with what I ordered and what I got. Gave them time to respond and as of this posting I still have not heard from them. Sorry I could not recommend a restaurant that the menu says one thing and the actual item is far from what they say it is. read more

It's not always fair to review take-out food. There are so many one-time things that can go awry that it can be unfair to generalize a restaurant's true potential. We ordered take-out from Chen's the other night. It was good enough that we'll come back in the future for a full sit-down meal. The Sesame Chicken was almost too sweet to eat, so... :-( The Pepper Beef was less sweet, but still very much on the sweeter side. The Pork Fried Rice was the star of the show. Very well seasoned and proportioned ingredients. The eggroll might have been tasty, but it was squishy and cold, and this is 100% an issue with take-out. But the restaurant was spotlessly clean and everyone I met was friendly. So there's five-star potential here. I'll update this review when we've had the opportunity actually enjoy the full dining experience. read more

FINALLY!!! We finally found good NY tasting Chinese food. We have tried like 7 or 8 takeout places on the Cape and this one wins. YUM!!!! We found it on DoorDash. Good pick. We started with their steamed dumplings. Literally just the way they are supposed to be made. So good. Then we had their sample app platter. One thing was better than the next. It came with Chinese spare ribs, fried shrimp, egg rolls, chicken wings, steak on a stick, and crab Rangoon. All of them great. We shared a dinner, which was their special, Shrimp in garlic sauce. Once again, nailed it! It could have used a few more shrimp, but the taste overall was a total win. I guess we just found out "Go To" Chinese place. So happy!!! read more
