China Wok always has very good dumplings, and sesame chicken. My family goes there at least once a month and it never disappoints.

Not much for seating, there's only one table. Singapore Noodles were tasty, there was a good amount of spice. The Sweet and Sour Chicken had too much batter and was greasy, sauce was ok.

Review: "New York-Style" Chinese Food? More Like a Sad Imitation…read more As a longtime Bronx guy, I know what real New York-style Chinese food is supposed to taste like. It's bold, flavorful, and hits you with that perfect balance of sweet, salty, spicy, and umami. So when I saw this place advertising "New York-style" Chinese food, I figured I'd give it a shot. Big mistake. On a true NYC scale of 1-10, this is a solid -7. The food is technically edible, but that's about where the positives end. Every dish was bland, lacking that wok-fired punch that makes real NY Chinese food stand out. The sauces tasted watered down, the fried rice was just rice with some soy sauce mixed in, and the chicken? Let's just say I've had more flavorful napkins. And don't even get me started on the egg roll--completely tasteless. No crunch, no seasoning, just an empty shell of what should've been a crispy, flavorful bite. It's like they made it with the idea of an egg roll rather than an actual egg roll. I wasn't expecting Chinatown-level greatness, but I was at least hoping for something close to what you'd find at any decent takeout spot in the Bronx. Instead, I got a sad, uninspired version that barely resembles what it's trying to imitate. Would it kill them to add some garlic, ginger, or anything resembling seasoning? Bottom line: If you're craving real New York-style Chinese food, keep looking. This ain't it.

American style Chinese food with iconic history in the area…read more Food: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Service: 4 Cost to worth it rating: 4 (most apps under $10 and dishes under $20) Opentableable: no, need to call for reservations Highlights: - Mongolian beef: packed with flavor steak slices with a kick. 4.5 stars - Egg roll: large and crispy with fresh ingredients inside with slices of chicken and cabbage and carrots. 4.5 stars - BBQ pork: tasty small plate appetizer with thin slices of pork devoid of much fat. 4.25 stars - Chow fun: thinner version and not oversauced. 4 stars - Duck: didn't have a full Peking Duck spread but a half duck with enough meaty pieces and a few standard boney ones. My son gobbled it up. 4 stars - Atmosphere: big room with lots of photos of visitors on walls (featuring many astronauts), dim sum baskets on the back wall, and red lanterns hanging from the ceiling. - Service: very nice waiter from China and saw Tely eating at a back table towards closing time Midlights: - Sizzling steak: steak was tender but an odd texture and the sauce was very salty. 3 stars - Fried rice: bit plain and pork wasn't the cha sui pork I was expecting. 3 stars - Lemon chicken: chicken breast pieces were large thin slices but didn't have much flavor in the sauce. 3 stars Lowlights - Black bean sauce fish: I've always had this with a white fish and believe this was salmon which I don't care for. 2.5 stars - Very popular so need to make reservations way ahead of time. They only had 8pm available few weeks ahead for a Tuesday night.

The Hot and Sour soap was very good. The owner very hands on was mingling with the customer. You could tell many of the customers are regulars as they greeted each other by name. I ordered the drunken noodle dish, it is one of my favorite but it was not authentic, or any good. Overall, the dish was super greasy, smelled strong from the fish sauce i guess, had no flavor at all, super disappointing. The meat was chewy as well. First and last time here. I could not eat the dish..

We were quickly greeted by a very sweet hostess. She immediately asked us for our drink order and brought them out. A few moments later our waitress came over. We ordered our go-to Thai curries- Massaman and Panang, with chicken, and a kids chicken teriyaki. The kids teriyaki was delicious! Huge hit with the kids. They ate the rice chicken and veggies. It was quite a big plate so my 5 and 4 year old happily shared one order. Our curries came with Miso soup- it was Miso soup. I've never had bad Miso soup, I feel like there really isn't anything that you can screw up. Then came the curries. Panang was exactly how we expected it to be- and it seemed to have a lot more bell peppers than we usually enjoy at other restaurants. It was so delicious- not watered down. The Massaman was equally amazing- and different. But not in a bad way! It seemed less sweet and with more emphasis on warm spices like cinnamon and cardamom. If you love a more aromatic, spice-forward take on Massaman, you'll love this version! Inside looks very clean and plenty of tables. Sushi bar in the back but visible by all. Hopefully this was an off night because there were only three tables full.

Their food has always been consistently tasty, and you can never go wrong with their Bourbon chicken and sauce with the Udon noodles. The staff are always so friendly and accommodating, even when I have to change the time for the food pickup due to schedule changes. It's nice to sit and have a cozy place to relax, eat, and charge my phone before needing to power through the rest of my day. The setup reminded me of a fast-casual spot where you'd expect quick service and solid food. The food? It was just okay. I went with the usual combo of fried rice, lo mein, and chicken. Everything looked better than it tasted. Not bad, just not anything I'd rush to tell someone about. It scratched the hunger itch, but didn't leave much of an impression beyond that. The part that dragged the experience down was the service. It took forever just to get six sodas. We were literally the only group in the entire restaurant. No line. No other tables waiting. Yet the drinks came out like we ordered custom cocktails from a speakeasy instead of fountain sodas. No explanation, no urgency, just... waiting. If they tighten up the service and season the food a little better, it could be a real contender. But as it stands, it's a middle-of-the-road spot with style over substance. Not a bad option if you're nearby, but don't expect to be blown away.
