Ordered delivery & it exceeded our expectations! My sister & I ordered orange chicken, broccoli beef, combo fried rice, and veggie spring rolls. We had plenty leftover after dinner and enjoyed the rest for lunch the next day-- help up well! The sauces are on the oilier side, but flavorful & tasty nonetheless. I'll definitely be eating here again!

Fried Braised Tofu in Brown Sauce & Curry Beef over rice are YUMMY. Don't forget the hot tea.

Went for Daily Lunch Special Food - 3/5. Hot and sour soup had decent flavor with a heavy tone of black pepper. Consistency was standard, thickened with starch but still slurpable. Fried rice was alright with minimal amounts of wok hei. Almond chicken was soft but the flavor consisted mostly of soy sauce. Sweet and sour pork had a lot of batter and the vegetables were hard. Sauce was sweet and tangy, but the consistency was too thick and the flavor was generic. Service - 4/5. Quick, courteous service. Value - 2/5. They offer combination plates for $17 or above during lunch with a set menu depending on your selection. For the price, the amount of food you get was small, especially on the protein side. There was 4 pieces of pork compared to the large amount of filler vegetables. The quality wasn't anything impressive either. It's hard to justify the cost when there is so much competition in that price range. Parking - Private Lot (Free)

China Wok is a great no-frills Chinese restaurant in an otherwise pricey area, dining and living-wise. We typically stop by for their lunch specials, which are about $14-$16 each. I recently got the C4 special - Almond Chicken, Sweet & Sour Pork, and Fried Rice, which comes with Hot & Sour Soup as well. The staff are friendly and the service is fast as the restaurant is never full. If you're looking for something quick, tasty, and relatively cheap for dining out, this is a great spot to try!

I'm glad they made it through the pandemic. This is not the fanciest spot but they have a large traditional Chinese menu and the food is fresh. I had the salt & pepper prawns and I can't recall what the beef dish was. They give you the option of having the prawns peeled or not. The prawns were fresh and the food came out super quick which was good because we were on a time limit. Good alternative to Chef Chu's.

Better off going to panda. Too expensive for the food. White rice with orange chicken for $19.

This is no longer the case. They will be able to continue their services to the greater Palo Alto area. This is a great news to you and me because Da Sichuan has maintain the highest quality and the consistency of authentic Sichuan dishes. Their menu also has the most varieties of vegetarian dishes in a spicy Chinese food category. We ordered 8 dishes tonight and no disappointment there even though tomorrow was supposed to be their last day. Your support for this local gem is appreciated as many eateries are disappearing from this vast growing town. We ordered Sizzling Rice Soup, Manchurian Chicken, Walnut Prawn, Dry Seasoned String Beans, Eggplant with Garlic Sauce, Salt and Pepper Fish, Boiled Fish Fillet, and combination stir fried noodle. The joy, laughter, and authentic food makes a family meal complete with less than $200. This is a super deal in this economy!! There are plenty of free parking in the back making it even more attractive to enjoy a meal without the stress of finding parking spaces. I know I will be returning soon!! Hope you will treasure this little mama papa shop as much as I do!!

The Shanghai chowmein tasted like noodles coated in soy sauce and had very little protein, would not recommend. The spareribs was a recommended to us by the waiter and not on the menu but was the most terrible dish. The flavor was good but the meat was so hard and mostly bone. The last dish we ordered was the kaof gluten, this was a yummy cold appetizer and packed with mushroom. Service 5/5 The waiter was extremely nice and attentive, although there several times when they keep bringing the dishes to the wrong table. Ambiance 5/5 I like the ambiance in the restaurant. It gives off the nice, elegant, and vintage Chinese vibe that is perfect for a casual dine out. It is a tucked away on the further end of Castro and I like that there's no big crowds outside.
