    Black mushrooms and green vegetables
    Ken C.

Janky taste fitting for its janky interior Wasn't sure how this was gonna go after we stumbled upon the restaurants janky interior. Unfortunately the food didn't hit the spot. The cumin lamb and water boiled fish were solid but nothing special. The fu qi fei pian were super disappointing - small portion with a slightly off putting texture and superrrrrrr salty. The mushrooms and green veggies provided a much needed break from the saltiness. Sadly not the authentic taste I was hoping for

Solid overall food nothing spectacular but reasonably priced and hits the spot when you want some easy takeout. The owners were very friendly and polite.

INCREDIBLE VEGAN CHINESE FOOD!!! I had the vegan twice cooked pork which was so flavorful and the faux meat had a great texture. Even my dad who typically doesn't like vegan meats thought it was really good. There is a very extensive vegan/vegetarian menu with non-meat versions of nearly all the meat dishes offered. The rest of my family also tried the chicken chow mein, beef chow fun, and a traditional spicy fish dish. Everyone really enjoyed their food. There were two workers we interacted with and both of them were incredibly friendly and we had a great time chatting with them before and after our meal. The prices are very reasonable. Highly highly recommend!

The worst chinese restaurant I've ever been to. The portions are extremely small and didn't even taste good.

We enjoyed every dish! The chongqin spicy noodles, the salt and pepper shrimps, the sizzling cumin lamb, the fish in chili oil. Yum yum yum! We ordered the hottest version but it was not too spicy for us - it was very flavorful. The fresh cut red chillies they give you, was really spicy - the red bean spicy sauce was just right. We enjoyed the cool beers with the spicy food. It's a unique ambience for a Univ Ave restaurant- it's just a Chinese kitchen serving good food - like you came to a home and got served really well. Will come back again with more family members. Ps: another surprising thing - we were a party of 6 and they didn't automatically charge us the tip - I took care of them - because I was super satisfied and happy with my meal!

This is probably the only Chinese restaurant around here with such an inviting outdoor patio, which makes it perfect for us since our dog babies can relax too. The menu strikes a really smart balance between authentic Sichuan spicy dishes and more Americanized Chinese classics, so there's something for everyone. The signature spicy fish fillet in flaming red oil is a must-try -- bold, fragrant, and so satisfying it might have just saved me an expensive flight back to China. The chili oil wontons are my personal favorite starter and never disappoint. This is an easy repeat spot for us, and we'll definitely go back around CNY days.

Reservation was easy to make over the phone and you have to preorder duck ahead of time. We also got pan fried buns, bok choy, and mandarin fish. Dishes are expensive but good quality. I read mixed reviews about the duck but I thought it was great - crispy skin and relatively tender/juicy meat. It is the first time I've seen an extra charge for the duck pancake wrappers; it was not a pleasant surprise but at least they were thin and delicious. We opted to have a soup made from the leftover duck and that was delicious. Service was also pretty good; they even packaged the leftovers for us. Highly recommend for a special occasion or to impress friends but too much of a splurge to go to regularly.

Unfortunately, it just wasn't as good overall as the Belmont spot. The space itself is older, and the seating feels pretty tight and not as comfortable. As for the food, we ordered the Peking duck, which came with a lot of meat, but the duck itself didn't taste fresh at all. It had that distinct, stale "old meat" taste to it, and the texture was completely off and mushy rather than having a nice, fresh bite. The xiao long bao missed the mark too--the wrappers were too thick and the filling wasn't nearly as savory or delicious as what we're used to. Even the basic steamed rice tasted like a cheaper, lower-quality grain. For the other dishes, the stir-fried scallion lamb was way too salty, even though we specifically asked them to go light on the salt, and it lacked that deep umami flavor they get so right at the other location. On the bright side, the Treasure's signature beef honeycomb tripe was actually really good, though the spice level is definitely on the higher side so beware if you're sensitive to heat. For dessert, I finished with the sesame glutinous rice balls in sweet rice wine because it's one of my absolute favorites, but it fell short since there was barely any wine or osmanthus flavor. The service was also pretty lacking throughout the night. They didn't even bother to clear our dirty dinner plates off the tight table after we ordered our dessert, so everything was incredibly cramped. They also completely ignored the rest of our Peking duck instead of proactively asking what we wanted to do with the carcass bones and the remaining meat. We had to specifically flag them down ourselves to ask about it and explain what we wanted done with it, which should really be standard practice for a proper duck service. Compared to the sister restaurant, the execution, environment, and service here just aren't quite there yet.

There were various dishes on the menu with appetizers, different proteins, carbs, etc. We had already looked at the menu prior to coming so we were able to place our order fairly quickly. Thick stir fried noodles: The noodles were pretty good! They were a mix of bouncy and chewy with small slices of chicken and bok choy throughout the dish. It was quite oily though. Spicy wontons: I thought these were going to be soaked in a peanut sauce but it was definitely more of szechuan chili oil. Maybe I read the description wrong. The wontons were tiny but plentiful. These were just okay, the pork filling was bland. Pan fried dumpling buns: The buns weren't as crispy as they're supposed to be. They had a small amount of pork filling but good soup inside. Be careful biting into one because it was hot. Sweet and sour chicken: Our favorite dish out of everything! It was the perfect combo of sweet and sour. There was more than enough chicken and gave us leftovers for another meal. I enjoyed the extra textures of the bell peppers, onions and pineapple throughout the dish. Definitely recommend! Service was as usual for a Chinese spot. There's a small private room on the right side if you have a reservation for a larger party. What keeps us coming back is how well they balance heat and flavor. The spice here never feels like a stunt -- it builds alongside real depth and seasoning. The Qiao Jiao Niu Rou (跷脚牛肉) is a standout -- a Sichuan-style boiled beef dish served in a rich, aromatic broth that somehow lands the spice-to-savory ratio perfectly every time. The Shui Zhu Yu (水煮鱼) is also worth ordering; the fish is decent quality, silky in texture, and the numbing chili oil broth does its job well. The restaurant ambient environment is ok and does get crowded often, but honestly that's just a symptom of being good - this place has built a real following in the South Bay. The Orchard Farms lot outside gives you plenty of parking, which takes some of the stress off a busy weekend dinner. One thing to flag: they now auto-include an 18% gratuity on the bill by default, so keep that in mind when you're reviewing the final check.
