The good: nice ambiance. Staffs were nice The not so good: everything we ordered was extremely salty. I've been to the other location before, and that didn't really hit the spot for me either. The restaurant is hyped up as a Taiwanese restaurant, but it's on the heavier side of seasoning. We ordered two dishes + noodle. It was not a smart idea to order both dishes with the same sauce, because we did not like the house special sauce at all. It was very salty and, according to my dad, too sweet.

Great spot! Not too crowded at lunch so got the lunch special super fast. The hot and sour soup was awesome but could've been a bit stronger tasting imo. The bento box is great bang for you buck -- no way could I finish this!

Food 4.5/5 Honestly one of the top Taiwanese restraints I have been to. The salt and pepper pork spareribs is a must order! Came out hot with the perfect amount of crisp. The garlic string beans and hot sour and soup were average. The three cups chicken was a little disappointing because it contained quite a lot of tiny bones, I was also hoping for a more ginger and basil fragrant in the dish. But overall, the portion and the food you get for the price is far better than most Taiwanese restaurant out there. Service 5/5 Came for dinner time on a Sunday and it was not pack. The servers were very attentive and refilled our waters. They even packed our to-go's for us. Ambiance 5/5 Not a very big restaurant but feels very cozy inside. Suitable for all party sizes.

I've been here twice and I've liked my food both times! This place doesn't get very crowded on weekends which is nice, not sure what's going on with the acoustics in the main dining area but it gets VERY loud even with only 50% occupancy. Service is fast and they serve complimentary tea if asked. Dishes do not come with rice but servings are sizeable 3 cup tofu: 4/5 a little too gingery but good texture and flavor Kung pao tofu: 5/5 good flavor and texture we got it 4 out of 5 spice which I thought was really good , could've gone 5/5 for spice too Veggie fried rice with egg: 4/5 tasted like regular chinese fried rice it was p good just a little bland on its own.. needs to be eaten with something else . I did really like the bamboo shoots in the rice though Overall good food, prices and portions, I will be coming back ! note: there's a lot in the back but I always miss the entrance and end up parking around the side

Came by to have lunch at Red Hot Wok, and I've gotta say, it's a solid spot to grab Chinese food. The menu is pretty extensive but we went with 3 items: combo fried rice, 3 cup chicken, and the salt and pepper pork spare ribs. We had asked for the 3 cup chicken boneless, but there was an error and it came with bones which honestly was a bummer bc I had to be super conscious about not biting into the tiny bones. The flavors are good though, just would've been more enjoyable and easier to eat boneless lol The fried rice was good, but could've definitely used a bit more flavor. My favorite was the spare ribs though, great flavor, little pieces of peppers added a nice kick, and good size pieces of meat. I'd get this again but asked for it extra crispy. It's a little hard to find because there isn't a big sign, and space next door looks vacant but once you know where it is, it'll be easy to find. Plenty of street parking while I was there. From a price and portion standpoint, I thought there's good value there. We definitely had enough to take some leftovers home.

I've been to and loved the Cupertino location so I was ecstatic when I found out there was a location in Palo Alto as well. Happy to report back and let y'all know this location is just as good as the Cupertino one! Came to introduce my friends to some SUPER yummy food and Red Hot Wok did NOT disappoint. Here's everything we ordered (we loved all of them!) - Three Cup Chicken (with bones in): 10/10; a must EVERY time - Salt and Pepper Spare Ribs: probably some of the best ones I've had in a while - Tofu with Salted Egg Sauce: this is in the veggies section haha but YUM; the sauce is ADDICTING - Sizzling Beef w Bamboo Shoots: I'm not the biggest bamboo person so I'm surprised that I loved it so much - Taiwanese Sausage Fried Rice: flavor was so tasty BUT wish the sausage was a little crispier (still tasty tho) - Braised Pork Rice Bowl: shouldn't be a surprise but this was also a hit! - Mango Shaved Ice: honestly, I was a little skeptical (and so full from everything else) when we ordered this but honestly was the best way to end the meal. Balanced everything out and loved the amount of mango they gave us. Other than the amazing food, the service is great and it's a clean restaurant! Parking isn't my favorite but there is usually a pretty fair amount of street parking.

I came here with two friends and it was mostly empty at 7:10 pm on a Tuesday night! Good: - Food came out fast and it's as good as I remember! - The egg tofu was so chewy and soft, and savory! - The veggies here are tasty and healthy - The fried rice was flavorful and well salted Bad: - It was hard to flag down a waiter - Not a big fan of the salted egg yolk dish in the clay pot - just had a bit too strong of an aftertaste for me Overall it's a casual place with good Asian food and predictable quality!

Went for Weekday Lunch Special Food - 5/5. Soup was sweet and sour with a bit of umami, mostly from the tomato. Its consistency was standard with a good mouthfeel. Pork chops were savory with a nice bite. The seasoning was just enough to elevate the rich flavor of the pork. The cabbage side dish had a delicious umami flavor that came from shrimp and the potato side dish was soaked in a soy-based sauce that gave it a strong taste. I was amused by the fact that the potatoes were actually french fries, meaning they are being creative with whatever they have on hand. The results were yummy side dishes, so in a way, it showcases their culinary skills. Rice was fluffy and the pickled mustard greens were a great palate cleanser. Service - 4/5. Quick and courteous service. They served the soup before I even ordered; I must have a 'orders lunch special' look to me. Value - 5/5. They have a good selections for their lunch special, all ranging between $15-$17. Each comes with your choice of entree, soup, rice, pickled greens, and two sides. I really enjoyed the variety and the portion sizes were substantial. Great lunch special! Parking - Street (Free)

This is a very unassuming restaurant off El Camino in Palo Alto that serves authentic Taiwanese food at very reasonable prices. What we got: - Minced Pork Belly over rice (Lu rou fan): Tender, flavorful chunks of pork belly with egg, mustard greens, and a bowl of rice. Delicious. - Sacha beef + veggie: Super flavorful dish, not overly salty, with tender pieces of beef - Salted duck egg yolk tofu: Fresh, silky tofu with great flavor and a departure from the "regular" salted egg yolk dishes you may be used to seeing at restaurants Waitstaff was super attentive/polite and the food came out quick. Definitely a winner over here if you're craving Taiwanese food in the area.

My kids love the ground pork rice bowl so I thought I give it a try. I was too lazy to go to Palo Alto , so decided to order through DoorDash . Ground pork rice bowl -- very good and comforting. The pork is essentially stewed pork and pork belly, very tender and juicy, the pickled vegetables also provides the flavor a perfect balance of crunch and tartness. The egg was a bit too tough. Clams in black bean sauce -- the clams were tiny but the taste was good and fresh. String beans -- nicely wok blistered , tender and crispy. Three cup chicken -- this was the least favorite. The chicken came with bones as advertised but the meat was tough and the chicken didn't taste as fresh. Overall a good Chinese restaurant and I Wil come back to try other dishes.

Nice traditional Taiwanese place that serves Taiwanese style bento boxes! We went for lunch so all got the lunch special, which we would highly recommend. The home special bento box included a variety of meats, including Taiwanese sausage and pork chop, which were both great! The pork chop was especially crispy and good. The accompanying vegetables were also a hit as well.

I love Red Hot Wok in Cupertino and I'm so glad they opened up one up here. They have awesome lunch specials where you get a couple of nice sides. I'm regularly ordering the 3 cups chicken, salt and pepper pork, any of the noodles, green beans, lamb, anything satay. You really can't go wrong ordering here. I really like the sizzling tofu in black bean sauce with rice.

I love the Red Hot Wok in Cupertino and so I wanted to come here to try the (relatively) new location in Palo Alto. This location is better in some ways and worse in others...and I do prefer the Cupertino location. However, Red Hot Wok Palo Alto does live up to its name - delicious and piping hot Taiwanese food that is cooked super quickly! Both locations have talented chefs and efficient service. Below, I will go into detail the differences between each location: Palo Alto (here) is better: -- plenty of seating and large interior. Cupertino in comparison is much smaller. -- seems like it has more servers Cupertino is better: -- SOMEHOW the food is slightlyyyy better in Cupertino. Both my fiance and I agree. don't get me wrong, the food here in Palo Alto is great, but the Cupertino food is just next level delicious. Better cook and flavor. -- Ambiance. The decor in Palo Alto is plain in comparison. I like the homey benches in Cupertino -- special menu! I could not find the special menu at Palo Alto, while the Cupertino location has daily specials on a chalkboard.

I ordered the Stir Fry Basil Chicken Bento and was immediately impressed by how much you get. The portion is generous, especially for the price! It was loaded with protein and served with two different vegetable sides and a hard boiled egg. It feels like a complete, well-rounded meal rather than the sad, sparse bentos you sometimes end up with. The basil chicken itself was the star cause it was juicy, aromatic, and had just the right kick on mild. If you have any heat tolerance at all, I'd say go mild without hesitation. It's flavorful without being overwhelming. Ordering is super easy through a kiosk, my food was ready in about 8 minutes, and the staff were genuinely friendly. The whole experience was smooth from start to finish. I'll definitely be back to work through more of the menu. If this bento is any indication of what else they're serving, I have a feeling everything hits.

They have 2 other locations (Cupertino and San Mateo), and their menu offers Taiwanese eats. Since they were known for their bento boxes, I went for the Popcorn Chicken Bento, aka R4 - The tray came with white rice topped with some weird mysterious meat curry-like slop; the marinated boiled egg was overcooked and had no flavor. The vegetables could have been better, as there were some cabbage leaves that were kind of not washed well and were spotty. The popcorn chicken was just regular fried boneless chicken bites - no flavor, whatsoever, and wasn't sure where the basil and the seasoning was? Such a disappointing experience; it's funny, because there was 1 patron dining in, and there were others picking up items to-go from online ordering. Staff were friendly, and there is a real-time screen of when orders are ready. No dice, O2 Valley. +avoid the bentos +friendly staff +online and kiosk ordering available

Reservation was easy to make over the phone and you have to preorder duck ahead of time. We also got pan fried buns, bok choy, and mandarin fish. Dishes are expensive but good quality. I read mixed reviews about the duck but I thought it was great - crispy skin and relatively tender/juicy meat. It is the first time I've seen an extra charge for the duck pancake wrappers; it was not a pleasant surprise but at least they were thin and delicious. We opted to have a soup made from the leftover duck and that was delicious. Service was also pretty good; they even packaged the leftovers for us. Unfortunately, it just wasn't as good overall as the Belmont spot. The space itself is older, and the seating feels pretty tight and not as comfortable. As for the food, we ordered the Peking duck, which came with a lot of meat, but the duck itself didn't taste fresh at all. It had that distinct, stale "old meat" taste to it, and the texture was completely off and mushy rather than having a nice, fresh bite. The xiao long bao missed the mark too--the wrappers were too thick and the filling wasn't nearly as savory or delicious as what we're used to. Even the basic steamed rice tasted like a cheaper, lower-quality grain. For the other dishes, the stir-fried scallion lamb was way too salty, even though we specifically asked them to go light on the salt, and it lacked that deep umami flavor they get so right at the other location. On the bright side, the Treasure's signature beef honeycomb tripe was actually really good, though the spice level is definitely on the higher side so beware if you're sensitive to heat. For dessert, I finished with the sesame glutinous rice balls in sweet rice wine because it's one of my absolute favorites, but it fell short since there was barely any wine or osmanthus flavor. The service was also pretty lacking throughout the night. They didn't even bother to clear our dirty dinner plates off the tight table after we ordered our dessert, so everything was incredibly cramped. They also completely ignored the rest of our Peking duck instead of proactively asking what we wanted to do with the carcass bones and the remaining meat. We had to specifically flag them down ourselves to ask about it and explain what we wanted done with it, which should really be standard practice for a proper duck service. Compared to the sister restaurant, the execution, environment, and service here just aren't quite there yet.

Pretty unprofessional IMO For a takeout, having you not pay right away and having you pay at table is a predatory practice that encourages excess tipping as well compared to other counter service restaurants (think Mcdonalds) Food was alright; not too salty. P balanced. Pig ears had good woody spices and seaweed had solid garlicky sea flavor. Fish was light and soft with scallion ginger aromatics. Tofu quail egg was just sweet sour. Sauce bit watery. Rice porridge was lowk great depression food (Hella water, a few sweet potato pieces saving it by a bit) Good if it was 35% less. The voucher if you pay with cash is over many visits like what so many places give immediate cash discount........ But it really is something you can make at home
